How do you picture her?

In my mind, she is a tiny Japanese woman; super polite, softly spoken, but disciplined.

I'm with you on the Japanese and the disciplined but not the rest.   In my mind she's a military wife through and through, and that includes ruling the house because Kaidan's dad is gone so much.  She's confident and accustomed to getting her way and she taught Kaidan how to treat  people right, including women.

That's how I see her. But not a tiny Japanese woman. No no no. I've met tiny Japanese mother in laws...they are NOT nice. She is not super polite or softly spoken; more like a warm and nice person, who doesn't judge others.
I wish we had met his mother...or at least learned her name...:?

Yeah, I understand. For me, I guess I see her as the seed of the softer side of his personality, while his dad is the hardass. I think of his dad as being kind of...hmm...not cold, but definitely proud. Stiff upper lip and all that; a bit of an old soldier type. And for me that causes conflict in him, because he doesn't want to be outwardly cold like his father, but doesn't want to be too soft either. So he kind of straddles the line between them.

She has Asian and Middle eastern heritage, is super protective of Kaidan (he's an only child), and loves to bake.  Didn't trust Shepard at first, saw her as the Alliance poster girl she's billed to be, not as an actual person, but after a few glasses of wine they bonded over stupid stuff Kaidan's done and now she sends Shep a box of cookies every year for her birthday.

Question wasn't addressed to me, but I'm answering anyways :P

I see her as someone a bit quieter and more sensitive, as she's had to deal with a lot in her life, but she's also strong. Not physically, but strong in her resolve and knowing how to put one foot in front of the other when the going gets rough. Also, down to Earth, more of a realist than an optimist, but still someone who can try to look forward to the future. And she wishes her son would visit more often.
For some reason, I always pictured her as French-Canadian.

Shepard's mom, however, is someone I picture as the complete opposite of Kaidan's. They'd get along so well  Imagine all the fun they'd have planning their children's wedding...

Currently having too much fun screenshotting and writing my fanfic as voted on last night. You can really find some of the strangest shots...

Sorry, I did intend for it to be an open question, not just directed at Tami! I love hearing other people's interpretations of this stuff, I find it fascinating.

My Shepard's parents are unmitigated jerks. This has been the subject of a frustrating storyline that I've been kicking around the last week or so. So in that respect, I guess my Shepard is willing to forgive Kaidan's parents their foibles; even if she didn't agree with them, I think she'd be tolerant and understanding of them because it's more than she ever got.

And I am so pumped for WINDEX cocktailS, it's ridiculous.

It's strange, but I don't see Shep as ever having met Kaidan's parents. She doesn't seem like much of a family person, even when she's got a mother out there in space somewhere, plus she's got an awful lot on her plate. They spent the end of ME1 chasing Geth around the galaxy, then she was dead for a couple of years, then working for Cerberus and Kaidan wasn't exactly going to invite her down to meet them. Then she was in jail for genocide...

I generally picture Kaidan's mom as hating how Shepard has hurt Kaidan, because it isn't until much later that even her son realizes that Shep could not have controlled any of it (with the exception of rescuing Joker, but that seemed perfectly in character, to me).

No I didn't ever see them as having met either.

Yeah, I'm speaking from a purely hypothetical standpoint. I don't view them as having ever actually met either. Nor will they ever, I imagine.

I agree with that bit too. My Mrs Alenko is likely to harbour a lot of mistrust and resentment towards Shepard, and would sooner see her son involved with some quiet, submissive thing with the personality of a door handle and downcast eyes and homemaking skillz. In my head, I think she also carries some guilt over his biotics, even if it wasn't her fault; and she probably blames herself for his ending up in the military (which she would have rather he did not, but would never say out loud).

Amidst all the weird/random/awful/creepy screenshots I've been sorting through, I came across this one from the scene after Mars, where Shep is looking down at Kaidan's body. I never noticed it before, but (at least to me) it looks like she's on the verge of tears.
As much as I hate seeing Kaidan getting his skull bashed in, I still love that scene. Plus the fact that Liara actually seems to acknowlegde your feelings, how upset and protective Shepard is over Kaidan, and how Liara has to practically snap her out of a daze. Which relapses within about 10 minutes.

Windex cocktails coming eventually... Photoshopping screenshots seems to be a minor disctraction... <_<

does it mention somewhere that Kaidan mother is Japanese as i don't i heard it anywhere, unless its in the codex or something.
I always pictured her kind and loving and very Protective of Kaidan, i also think i heard in me3 he has a sister but i could be wrong. Also i imagine his mother thought it may have been a coverup Shepard's death i mean so she could go undercover do her business and such without anyone noticing.

I don't like MP Much it gets very boring really quickly and i am like lvl 18 or something Adept and not tryed anything but Bronze and this was way back before we even learnt of extended cut hehe.
Also got tons of characters to do when the ec comes out, plus trying to finish me2 and recording it (recorded this character since me1 hehe).
