If the challenge is to find new material... I've been around this thread for a while now, and I'm reasonably confidant that in that time I have never before seen

To be fair, at the rate this thread moves it was only a few hours. We're just a blabby bunch of Kaidan fans, on top of being pic-spammy.

I'm going to presume he's so hungry and tired from a recent battle in which he used his biotics at full power for too long that he fell asleep while looking for a snack.

Sadly, I went to check.  It was seven whole pages ago and he was fully dressed.  :P

That's some good detective work.
This is a great place to check out too.  Soooo much Kaidan.  Because I am old and uncool, I find tumblr very confusing, and the folders at the DevArt site are so easy to navigate.

I WAS intending to spend the day writing, too (afternoon classes cancelled, hurrah), but I ended up ordering my friend ME1, 2, and 3 for her birthday instead. Which is why I'm now writing out a detailed "Guide" to the series that she'd be able to understand and help her through the games (since she's never played a Bioware game with the exception of the few times she's done so with me).
I wish someone had given me a guide to how Bioware games work when I first played one (Origins, in my case). Not only did I miss on most of the companions and accidentally kill the ones I did find, I also royally screwed up my leveling, made some bad decisions, and missed a lot of the game. I didn't even know you could talk to your companions, change your weapons, or change your armor until I had finished 2/3 of the game!
Which is why I'm attempting to write this, so she doesn't mess up as badly as I did. Granted, ME is a lot more forgiving than DA:O (at least, ME1 is).

Edit: That was in response to Kolo's comment about spending the day writing

when i first played mass effect or dragon age i ALWAYS talked to my companions, (kissed alistair everywhere we went hehe), but i did kill of one companion only because everytime he talked to me he was flirting with me and i couldn't take it, plus he already tried to assinate(can't spell worth **** anymore) me once before. also didn't do all side quests as i had no clue how to do them and walkthrough don't explain properly, but it didn't matter as they wasn't important
In mass effect always spoke to Kaidan, liara(**** flirted with me, causing Kaidan to question me after virmire and i chose him of course), wrex Ashley(before her ultimate sacrifce), garrus and tali. Did every single side quest
Then i ended up romancing Kaidan and living happily ever after, until the worst happened at beginning of me2(i played me2 before me1 tho, but played da origins before meseries. and then i played neverwinter nights, swkotor and bulders(i have a terrible spelling error today) gate(but got far till all my characters started dying and gave up)

I just think of a Kaidan pose/image relevant to the conversation and do a Google image search.  How the heck else do you think I came up with Catsuit-Kaidan?

That's kind of adorable.

I'm picturing Vega finding him in the fridge while looking for breakfast and just being like, "eh, whatever, seen weirder serving on Shepard's ship."

Wow, you are the best friend ever!  And you're writing out a guide?  You should be nominated for sainthood.

Confession: I completely missed the mabari on my first DA:O playthrough.

I have an odd obsession with getting my friends elaborate gifts  Last year, I made her an Elven Cloak from Lord of the Rings, and the year before I got her a lifesized, cardboard cutout of Johnny Depp (her at the time love). Good thing I only have two close buddies.

On my first playthrough, I missed the Mabari, Leliana, Sten, Shale, and killed Zevran and Wynne. Alistair broke up with me after the Landsmeet, Morrigan left after I refused her deal, which left me in the end with Alistair and Oghren. And then I died. Cheery. And that's why I'll be forever paranoid of playing a Bioware game blind.

Oh wow! You must be the bestest best friend ever! But if your friend is starting at the normal level, it shouldn't really be that hard to finish all three games though.

But for ME1, I found out that the soldier, infiltrator, and vanguard classes are  easier to play and hardy, too. It's after you unlock the weapon and other bonuses that makes sentiel, engineer, and adept much easier to play. I tried to play a sentiel my very first playthrough and I kept dying on normal. classes with combat skill points like assault rifle, shotgun, fitness, etc helps a lot in ME1. If your friend wants to play around with biotics, I recommend playing as a vanguard. Besides they get a considerable boost in ME2 and 3.

edit: I love playing a video game blind.

Kaidan

*insert your own droolly picture here*

Fixed my Good-bye post,

By the way, just been looking at the veiws of the most popular threads, Kaidan has 1,041k
Everybody else has 950k or less (miranda has 962k)

Seems like there is a Major section of Kaidan lurkers out there...

I always play them blind.  It adds to replayability for me: every time I run another character I find things I've missed.

Of course that means that my first character through leads a miserable life.  My first Warden got dumped by Alistair so he could be a better king and then he fed himself to a dragon.  I was literally screaming at the screen.  And my Fail!Shep was my first run through ME3 so I had to watch Tali kill herself and half of my squad was dead from the start.  That'd be my Thane-mancer who dumped him before he gave his life to save a total stranger and then sent her a beautiful declaration of love.  :crying:  It definitely makes the games more dramatic!

Edit: So the Kaidanites have Major Lurkers?  Is that like Conrad Verner?  ;)

Oh wow, talk about a trial by fire!

I hadn't ever played a Bioware game but I had at least spent a lot of my youth playing J-RPGs, but especially Suikoden. if Suikoden taught me anything, it's the everyone is a potential companion! (it had 102 characters to collect. >.<) Still, the romance aspect totally threw me for a loop, so when Alistair dumped me I went pretty much straight to denial (reload). :P

Mass Effect is at least a little easier to slide into. Still, good on you for being patient enough to do that. XD

Edit: Make sure your guide includes repeatable steps "Talk to Kaidan" and "Swoon" as often as possible.

The completionist run is my second.  The first is purely to find out what the hell happens at the end.  But I'm a glutton for conversation so I found out about the love interest stuff really, really quickly in DA (my first BioWare game).  I also learned to pace the convos a lot more.  They run out eventually!  :(

Yeah, this was the hardest thing for me in Dragon Age. I'm always so impatient so I'll talk to them like crazy and give them gifts and everything is awesome and Warden and Alistair are happy and in love and then for 75% of the game,

:o "Something you need, my dear?"
<_< "No, i guess not. "

Edit: curses!

Edit the deux: Doodle complained that it was too festive, so now you get ghost stories! :P

Here, have one of Criz's delightful imaginings!
