I'm not going to post the list, but for turn on/turn off, I ran through and decided to look at some things.

For the Tuchanka arc, you can do either the rachni mission or the turian rescue mission. Either of those will turn on the cure mission. The one you don't do can be done after the Genophage cure.

Kaidan has some dialogue for both of those missions (I think the comments during and after the turian rescue mission are better).

After doing the turian rescue, the bomb mission activates but has to be done before three other missions (if you do the turian rescue before the cure, you have to do the cure, the coup, and then right away do the bomb mission).

If you do the bomb mission with Kaidan, don't take Garrus. At the end of the mission, when you're flying back, Kaidan has some nice dialogue about Virmire. If Garrus is there, he steals the show, and you don't get dialogue from the other squadmate (I had Kaidan and Liara, and it was a touching conversation).

Also, there seems to be a bug when you come back on the Normandy after the coup, where if you talk to Chakwas about getting supplies from the Citadel, Kaidan's dialogue about hearing from his mom breaks (you click on him, but the dialogue doesn't start). You have to leave the level and return before talking to Kaidan (his dialogue will start normally once the area is reloaded), or you have to talk to Kaidan before talking to Chakwas (if you click on him and get the bug where the dialogue doesn't start, you miss out on that conversation).

Lovely video Clarissant, LadyofRivendell it aint weird at all, we all prob have a ring picked out for our sheps and Kaidan hehe. Tell me how SHepard and Kaidan got Engaged please

Me? Well, I've got the whole thing written in my head, but basically Kaidan pops the question spontaneously two mornings after the defeat of the Reapers in London. They're in bed in Shep's cabin on the Normandy, Kaidan wakes up and just enjoys the peace and quiet as he watches Shepard sleep, tucked in against his chest. She wakes up after a few minutes, and he reaches in the nightstand drawer behind him and pulls out a a diamond and sapphire engagement ring. He says that he bought it just a few days before the Collectors attacked the original Normandy, and had meant to give it to her then but had been waiting for the right time. He'd kept it with him since then, and decides that he's waited long enough.
Yes, I'm just a hopeless sap, but it's hard to try to describe the scene in my head in a short summary. I have a habit of starting to write and not being able to stop, in case anyone hasn't noticed... Everyone's got a different headcanon, this one just happens to be mine.

That's really sweet! I imagine something like that for my Shep and Kaidan
(fellow hopeless sap here). And I love the diamond and sapphire ring. That's what my mother's wedding band is. Personally, I have always wanted black diamonds for myself (I think they are little more rough, so they fit me more. I am a bit girly on the outside, but very tomboyish on the inside. That's what having two older brothers gets you. [That and the mouth of a sailor]). And I can't wear rings (I tend to play with them and then subsequently lose them:unsure:) so I would wear my ring on a chain around my neck as a necklace. /rather off topic rant

Oh, a Kaidan! Haven't seen this in a while.

I thought sapphires would be pretty because... well, to be quite honest and cheesy, because they match my Shep's eyes. I accidentally changed the pattern color on her armor from red to navy blue in ME3 on my first run, and now that's my favorite color to use for the arm stripe because I realized how prettily it matched her eyes. It's midnight, and I hereby reserve the right to be cheesy :P
On a personal level, I wouldn't choose sapphires, either. Heck, I'm not picky, if I ever find a guy in life who passes the "compare to Kaidan" list with at least a 95% then I'll be a happy soldier no matter the stone. Although, I've stated before that I find Andalusian stallions make for much nicer tokens of everlasting love than a ring would ever do  I do have a little ring I wear every day with two horses entwined around in a circle, their heads arching together to make a heart on the front and their tails swishing together in the back.

And because it feels completely appropriate for the discussion at hand:

I totally agree that depending on the relationship, a ring might not be the best expression of everlasting love. I am not sure my Shep wants a horse, though. You know what, my Shep wants a house. The perfect house for being completely and uterly lazy. She just saved the galaxy and wants to sleep in 'til noon dammit (with Kaidan of course)! And when she wakes up, she continues to just waste time. I assume eventually she will get bored of not blowing something up though, and she will then go off on more adventures, but she will always have her home and Kaidan to go back to. And yes, finding some one even close to 'Kaidan Level' perfection would make me happier than any rock mounted on a metal ring would. But alas, I have yet to find my Kaidan. And so I will press on into the sunset until I have! Huzzah!

Wait, Kaidan has dialogues for the Turian Platoon mission? You can do it after the coup? I thought this mission wasn't on the Disc 2 (post-Coup) at all and it wasn't possible to do it with Kaidan?

He has dialogue for Turian Platoon mission. I saved both Turian Platoon & bomb missions for after I got Kaidan. I played that a couple of days ago. If I remember correctly, Kaidan said something about feeling sorry for the Primarch's son, having to live up to high expectations and failing in his first mission.

Wonderful news, in this case I'll be always doing the Platoon&Bomb arc after the coup. It's 2 missions compared to just one Rachni mission so more missions with Kaidan :D

Wonder how long can you delay the Platoon mission after the Coup. Till the end of the game?

I did those two quests immediately after Citadel II, but Mass Effect wiki says: "If you do not start the mission it is still available even as late as Priority Thessia.".

Edit: Mass Effect wiki also says that you can't complete Turian Platoon after Priority: Tuchanka, but that's not true... so I'm not sure if it's wise to wait untill Priority: Thessia.

Edit 2: I did the quests in this order:
Priority: Sur'Kesh
Attican Traverse: Krogan Team (The Rachni)
N7: Cerberus Abductions (Benning)
N7: Cerberus Attack (Tuchanka)
Priority: Tuchanka
Priority: Citadel 2
Tuchanka: Turian Platoon
Tuchanka: Bomb

Yeah, ME Wiki ain't the most reliable source (until like a year after each game gets released and all secrets are discovered and well known) but it would make sense to me that the Platoon mission is available for a long time. The Rachni mission certinately is, I took my sweet time before doing it. ;P

Now I wish Grissom mission could've been delayed somehow. Frankly, I don't like this timed missions idea at all. The game is already bit more linear than ME2, why make it even more so by applying timers?

Well I suppose it's to lend an air of emergency to the game. With the Reapers attacking everywhere it's not realistic for some locations to remain untouched indefinitely. While it was annoying in some cases I did think it added an interesting element of immediacy to ME3 Posted Image

Yea people can be stupid like that. I had that when I was trying to level up one of my characters. They didn't try to kick me again after the first match.

I like the engagement idea, but I already know how Kaidan and my Shep got engaged ^_^ Is it a bad thing if I already have a ring picked out for her?

Considering, uh, well, this video snippet and my tendency towards images like.. well, this:

...I feel reassured in my observation that if it's a bad thing, then there probably is no hope for me ever quite frankly. Though I admittedly I just went with something absurdly plain and simple because I simply can't see Kate wearing anything more elaborate than that.

As a funny aside, the above video snippet doesn't actually represent my headcanon idea of how the proposal would go down at all which is weird, but yeah.

I just finished Sur'kesh and was trying to figure out what order for maximum Kaidan. Very good to know. I wasn't sure about waiting to do the Rachni mission with Kaidan since he didn't have a lot to say, but I guess I'll take him to the Turian Platoon mission instead. I definitley take him on the bomb mission. He's got good dialogue there.

Do you know if EDI takes Kaidan's lines at the end? I'm trying to take EDI everywhere to see if I can get her to come out of the Normandy with Destroy. She's pretty boring dialogue wise so far <_<
