Frankly, I don't actually care what the cultural associations are for it. Phoenix armor happens to have awful stats and I don't even keep Ashley in it. But to not even bother putting Kaidan in his Horizon armor at the beginning is stupid. It turns him into an afterthought. THAT's what I object to.

Personally, I can't stand it because I look terrible in it. It's up there with yellow. I don't look good in ANY pastel colors.

I'm not a fan of pink for anyone, male or female - personal preference, but if you want to wear it - sure, wear it. but I'm with Sia, here, - its not the fact that its pink, its the fact that it shows him to be an afterthought. and honestly - Horizon is not much better. he's wearing a random mook armor - half the bystanders on Illium wear that same armor.

Kashley Willenko... he gets barely any unique dialogue, no unique animations.. I was almost expecting Shepard to go - hey Ash... I mean Kaidan. oooops.

you know... if Ashley's default was Onyx and Kaidan's default was phoenix and they consistently wore it through both games? I don't think we'd be nearly as annoyed.

True, but his fully unique Spectre armor in ME3 (and completly different than Ash colour palette of the CE alternate appearance pack) gives me hope it won't happen again in ME3. Now it's just a question will the dialogues be as different between the two of them as the their armors are, even if in the same situations (due to simialr Spectre role).

quick question to those who transgendered Shepard to get mShep/Kaidan in ME1
when I originally came across that info it was always said that you can only do that with the default Shepard(s).
Now that has been some time ago, I had set things up, but it took me a while to get to that particular playthrough. I already did a quick search, but does anyone know if someone has found a way to get it to work with a custom Shepard?

EDIT:
I read that there was a rather complicated thing around it with hex editing or something, but I mean, does anyone know of an easy way like with default Shepard?

Pink is really light some shades of purple, as for me. Watered down red looks strange.

I kinda hate how limited your chit chat time is with characters. I just want to talk to kaidan a lot but after you do so many things you can't really talk to him anymore. I just want to hear him speak! They should just add in random convos that'll cycle through randomly that you can talk about. Let me hear him talk lots

No sure if I remember it correctly but didn't Ashley say something like "Welcome back" when picking up Shep at the end of the Earth demo? If yes that would imply this is indeed the first moment Shep meets with VS

No idea sweetie, never done it myself You should ask RinjiRenee, I think she has a custom DragShep. But there are videos with custom Shep romancing Kaidan on YouTube (at least in ME2) so I definitely think it is possible somehow

@Isaac, I'm pretty sure you're right. I think I heard Casey say the VS is one of the first people you meet. I might have read that, I'm not sure. I've read so much, I can't keep it all straight.

The hex edit is very simple.  I can do it for you if you send me the save file.


Re: Phoenix armor... As mentioned, Phoenix is supposed to be the default armor of the Systems Alliance.  I assume it was supposed to be a "they grabbed armor off the rack rather than take the elevator to their lockers and suit up normally" emergency situation.  Personally, the only problem I have with it is that it's Ashley's iconic color scheme.  Since they had to color each armor individually (Human Male, Human Female, Asari Female - since Liara's has the asymmetry) to get it to fit right, they could have gone with something more character neutral... or character iconic since they were on the whole "unique appearances inspire stronger character~" thing.

...Granted, I like Phoenix armor, so it didn't bother me all that much.

Was planning on doing a Sheploo playthrough after this one (I usually play FemShep), but I don't want to romance Liara or Virmire Kaidan.  Would it be wrong to romance Ashley but then leave her on Virmire?
