just 1 more dlc to go (the lair of shadow broker) then i get to see lots of kaidan in me3 yay i soooo miss playing me3 i think i am obsessed with Kaidan in that game hehe
Is this the part where i can say "i've played ME3 *insert number* times?"
By the way, what class was you playing?
well this would be my 7th or 8th playthrough, i lost count, but its first time romancing kaidan as a earthborn, i know it don't matter what Background you are when it comes to romances hehe.
Also my class is Adept, i just love my biotics hehe, when i went collector base i picked up assault rifle as i just love it (although at the end i ended up using ti less hehe). I mased out warp and shockwave and the class skill.
Now to insert me3 disc 1 hehe (playing xbox360 btw)

As for writing, I can't write angst for the life of me. I struggle to even keep a serious tone most of the time. If you haven't noticed, my stories tend to be on the weirder side, because somehow my sense of humor tells me things like Garrus drinking Windex and Javik singing Karaoke would make a good story.
Good thing it's Shenko Fluff Friday, and happy Star Wars Day to everyone, too!

I've lost count around 10+ (went without a romance, Got Liara at the end in the flashback thing by default
I perfer playing as engineers,
I in my me2 play on the collector ship i picked sniper by mistake... thought i'd try it out. boy, does the combat drone + snipers = win (xbox360 too

I don't mind a little bit of angst, I think it's a nice addition for multi-chaptered stories, but angsty oneshots are definitely not my thing. I love romance, fluff, maybe an occasional sad fluff or drama fluff, but the fluffier the better! And I've got a Persian cat sleeping on my lap right now, so I know my fluff.
As for writing, I can't write angst for the life of me. I struggle to even keep a serious tone most of the time. Also when I do let my writing flow on it's own, it's rarely a oneshot. My heroes are almost always extremely flawed and dark. It's really hard for me to write a one shot, though I have managed it a few times. It's also hard for me to start writing stuff when I have to actually make an effort to curb some of the angst in it. Hence the issues with the ending fic I'm trying to write.

Problem with me is that if I don't consciously think about it all I would write would be angst. I have to actually watch what I write when I do, if I let the words flow, they come out very dark. Anyone who read anything I wrote ten years ago would be able to attest to that. It's hard for me not to write from a dark place.
Sounds like my poetry from 10+ years ago...man it's depressing...
That used to flow, okay more like a tsunami than a flow, it was a torrent, but damn did it make me feel better!

Now you guys really have me wishing I had saved the bomb mission until after the Coup...oh well, it's not like I haven't replayed most of the missions over and over for better screenshots as the modding tools keep getting better, and for the story...
New chapter is up: If It Meant Living-54: Consequences / Alt. DA Link. Warning: Incoming ANGST. But just hang with me a little longer, I promise I will make it worth your while.
But bonus, Kaidan art to go with it! The lighting in that hospital room is terrible, I had the damnedest time on this one...

Nice chapter! I love that Garrus plays the older brother, ready to smack him around if need be.
Also, I appreciate angst--so no worries

I don't mind writing angst, but with one exception it has always been in furtherance of or to provide depth to a character or story arc.
That one exception didn't work out very well. Before I started this story I would write character profiles of all of my femSheps - their background, peronalities, what drove them, how they reacted to events. One of them, my first Soldier, was a Colonist/Sole Survivor. Due to events, she ended up pretty messed up in the head, and rather fatalistic and depressing, and as of the end of ME2 had no positive resolution to her issues.
I ended up hating her, could barely finish ME2 with her, and have no desire to bring her through ME3. Too damn depressing. I later went back and made an Earthborn Soldier who, though she probably didn't really have things much better, had a much more positive and interesting outlook on things.
Anyway, I think pain and loss as part of a multi-layered story can be important, because it makes the story meaningful, the characters real and the reader care what happens to them. But depressing for depressing's sake? No thanks!
Have a Kaidan being angsty with us:
