I know the suicide lines thing has already been refuted as a troll by Kyria, but just from an actual story point of view, I think it would be a bad move to include something like this. We already have Tali and Samara potentially killing themselves during the game. And Shepard, if that counts. Any more and they might as well just call it "Mass Suicide 3".

I don't think Kaidan would do it, anyway.  It seems very much out of character for him.  He'd withdraw and become distant but he'd still continue to work and do his duty, like an automaton in a shell that keeps everyone from him.   

That was meant to be reassuring.  I believe it failed.  Let's have a Kaidan, instead.  A happy one.

Yeah, agreed. In the event that he's on the crap planet, he's got other people who are relying on him. He wouldn't let them down.

I haven't ever bashed him. I just can't connect with a maleShep after having played with femShep. I've tried, but after playing the one, the other just doesn't work for me. I don't think the voice acting has as much to do with it as the fact that the game did such a good job of getting me to identify with the character.

Shepard is just burned into my brain as female, and to play Shepard as male is too much of a suspension of my disbelief now. Voiceacting is only one small part of the equasion that caused that, and even if Meer was an amazing voice actor which he may or may not be, I don't think he could have saved things after the combo of what ME1 did to make Shepard for me.
