I hope tis not true, either. But to rain on the parade, I actually can see that happen if Shepard dies. As much Kaidan is a strong man capable of pulling himself out of the lowest low, I do believe he lacks the strength and will to do this a third time. (counting Rahna)

The goodbye scene with his "I can't lose you again" line implies that much.

Yeah, but he wouldn't suicide. He'd go out fighting. If Shep didn't make it through the ending, he'd find a way to make sure he didn't get out of the fight too if he was going to do something like that.

He sure wouldn't walk off the Normandy on Gilligan's planet with a smile of his face.

I have to believe that they did not, which is one of my major problems with the beginning of ME3. If they had there wouldn't be half a game of re-acquaintance and trust issues. But why the hell couldn't they at least communicate through Anderson, who as a Councilor had access to both? I'm haven't been able to head-canon that gap because nothing I can think of makes sense for both characters.

Edited to expand: I can see Kaidan's side, a little.  Shepard never replied to the message after Horizon and then she killed a few hundred thousand Batarians after working with Cerberus for months.  It makes sense that he'd be leery, not sure if she's really the same person.  But at the same time he seems so deeply to want to know that I can't believe he wouldn't leap at the chance to find out if Shepard made the first move.  I can't believe that Anderson wouldn't be willing to get a message to him on her behalf.

Wait...maybe I can.  Maybe he was protecting Kaidan.    Hello, head canon!  I always think of Anderson as being quite fatherly to both of them, particularly Kaidan during ME2.  I shall ponder furhter.  I hear a plot bunny rustling in the back of my head.

Yes the suicide comment on Tumblr was debunked last night.

I agree with whoever it was that said suicide would be out of character for Kaidan, though I do see him shutting down and just doing his job, maybe taking a few more risks than he would normally until it finally caught up with him.

Now I'll be back over in my corner being miserable because of to much thinking about it.

I always saw Anderson like this, too. Which is why I really wish he had made a comment on their relationship (Shepard and Kaidan's), I would have loved to hear his thoughts on it, if he knew, when he found out, his reaction, etc, above all the other characters.

Now that the actors are back recording I think the trolls have another big chance to start spreading stupid rumors.  I've been following the producers and writers on Twitter and they are really keeping the EC additions a secret so I wouldn't believe any spoilers that come up from 3rd party sources.

I don't think so.  But I think if you have the data pad app Kaidan sends him/her a message the morning of the attack saying he wants to stop by.

Does anyone happen to remember a fanfiction that had mshep and Kaidan, where Kaidan finds mshep (not knowing that he's Shepard) working in a pet store a few years after the war has ended? It was a good fic but unfinished and I didn't keep a link to it. Hoping that it's now finished or at least has a few more chapters.
