All of my fics start with a single scene somewhere in the middle. I write what comes to mind and then I build around it. The end usually comes early on and beginnings are the bane of my existence. Except The Double, that one started with the first line and the end scene (which BioWare handily trashed but the whole thing is AU so I'm keeping it, damnit). 88,000 words later and I still haven't managed to connect the two. I write chapters as ideas for them come to mind, whether they're "next" in the story or not. My brain doesn't do linear. :happy:Kolotosa wrote...

I hate it when I have a fic in my head, and I know what happens in the middle and how it ends, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to start it /sigh
OMFG story of my whole week.
I've had middle scenes and conversations floating around and I've had to write them down so I don't forget, but then trying to actually... you know...get there. Nothing. Nadda. And then the more I thought about it today, the more the whole thing morphed into something completely else and now I don't even know WTF.
If anyone is around and up for X-Box MP, I'm considering diving into the depths. Does the galactic readiness apply only to the character you last played or is it a universal boost?
