Most, if not all of us hate the ending or at least think it needs to be fixed really badly. So with Doodles brother being ok with the ending puts him at odds with the rest of us... Though most of us here who are unhappy with the ending are fine with people are happy with the ending so /shrug...

Yeah, because the world is sexist, and Shepard will be a male and his LI will be Ashley (unless, of course, Bioware has a say in it, then it will be Liara, because they love Liara so much and it will make sense to bring him back if Liara is in love with Shepard)

I posted this in the ME1 boards the other day, but they don't get a lot of traffic. I don't think its very relevant to the General ME3 section, so I thought I'd post it here as well as the Ashley thread.
So I bought the PC version of Mass Effect the other day so that I have something to fart around with on my laptop while I'm away from home. Out of curiosity I started to dig through the game files and found some interesting sound bits in the nor20_virmire_done.isb file. Apparently, at one point they were considering making it possible to save both Kaidan and Ashley on Virmire. Here are the transcripts of the sound files.And here is a video slide show containing the audio files:Ash: "Thanks Commander. Things got pretty hot down there. You saved my life."
Kaidan: "Both our lives. I don't know how you did it Commander. The Alliance'll come up with a whole new medal for what you pulled off here."
Ash: "If they don't court marshall you. You endangered the entire mission. Why didn't you just leave one of us behind?"
Shepard: "No one gets left behind. Not while I'm in charge."
Kaidan: "We might have tried Commander, but I don't think either one of us could have pulled this off."
Kaidan: "Anyone else. I'd say they got lucky."
Ash: "Kaidan's right. Nobody else could make a stunt like that work. But anyone else in charge and someone gets left behind...or the mission fails."
I thought it was kinda cool, but I'm glad they did it the way they did.

Oh, I've been a Mark Ruffalo fan for a long time, but 13 Going On 30 totally cemented my crush. and I have seen Avengers, yeah. So awesome.
I just never made the Kaidan connection until you mentioned it the other day and now I just can't unsee it.
The real issue with any potential/hypothetical depiction of Kaidan would be that for me, Kaidan is as much the voice as he is the look. I just don't know if it'd be the same without Sbarge's sexy.

IF and I do mean IF they make the Mass Effect movie that has been discussed in the media, I will not be seeing it. While I can compartmentalize my Shepard and who she is, I really get pissy when they set an actual canon. See my annoyance at what went on with Revan in TOR. I don't care if Bioware comes out and says canon Shepard is a male it's when it's shoved down my throat like they did in TOR that it really gets to the point of I am not going to deal with it. So I will stick with my head canon Shepard, I avoid the instances in TOR where Revan is and stick with my head canon Revan...

Why did I not think of this. That would be awesome. They could even split up the movie to cover multiple parts of the universe. One theme would be about the First Contact War, maybe another on the Morning War, then of course there is the Rachni War and Krogan Rebellions. There is a lot of potential for story-making there. Ooooh, I know what you are talking about! I read that too
But I don't think they said it's about Shepard...and they can change it. I seriously think they should make it about the story, not the character. Make it about Saren, Reapers, Cerberus...ME universe in general, instead of Commander Shepard.
And Kolo, I think the only movie based on video games that I "like" is Resident Evil and that's probably because they created a character just for the movie.
