I just don't know if I can do it, I feel like a bad player since I never give Ashley a chance, I really love her character but my game wouldn't feel right without Kaidan. I need to stop kidding myself that I will ever leave Kaidan behind. I just can't do it! *cries* He's just too awesome.

My sister did it on her first PT to get it out of the way so she never had too do it again, I have got the genesis DLC but I don't want to miss out on the little side-mission or emails. But I highly doubt any of it would be major important due to the PS3 players.

The easiest thing to do to not get ninja-manced by Kaidan if you're a good girl Shep is to kill him off down in V-Town.

My mostly paragon Shepard run was supposed to be no romance but i got dragged in by Kaidan by just playing nice, so i killed him off. I then proceeded to cheat my way through with the save editor in Mass Effect 2, so Kaidan is alive but not romanced.

I have several playthrough I "kept" Ashley in which because didn't want Kaidan experience shame - and maybe even horror - of his former captain. Namely "worst import" and pro-Cerberus xenophobe. "Kept" because "worst import" save was edited and "pro-Cerberus" was downloaded - sometimes I'm very happy about the fact I'm a PC player.

Same here. I'm glad ME3 got pushed back only so I can wrap up 3 ME2 play throughs and dedicate a month or two to Skyrim (and DA2, God, I'm so behind!).

The sniper rifle gets better, though! The trick in ME1 is to have Shep crouch while firing. In ME2, the sniper rifle is just badass all around. My canon Shep is vanguard, but I'm really enjoying playing my infiltrator Shep in ME2 right now.

Oh, and keeping it Kaidan related... I cannot wait to see how awesome his sentinel powers are going to be in ME3! The Shep sentinel powers seem pretty badass.

It's my first run as an infiltrator, sniper rifles getting easier but luckily Kaidan and other squadmates' are not dying or anything so they cover my back.

It's going to be hard not to romance Kaidan, how can I reject him without being a meaney? Also trying to decide whether this will be my first Kaidan death at virmire, Ashley never sruvives my games cos I always romance him...but I kinda want him if it's possible for him to be romanced from fresh in ME3, if Joker/Vega aren't. (my infiltrator will also have another save with a ME2) So many decisions!

I've never played as anything other than Sentinel, so I hope they're badassssss. I should play with Adept and Vanguard to see which I like best.

But a playthrough without Kaidan? BLASPHEMY.    But in all seriousness, try it out! I don't think I'd get very far without changing my mind and reloading to save Kai. But it would be neat to see how a new romance would play out in ME3. I'd consider romancing Joker as well (though it doesn't seem very possible to me with his bones and all. Maybe they find a cure? hah.)
I will have to consider all this when I get an xbox and have to play through everything again in order to have save games ready.

I'm playing two ME2 games right now, one with my canon shep and the other with a redhead who I'm going to have romance Thane. I also wanted to have her (non-cannon) not romance Kaidan in ME1 but I couldn't do it so I just had to cheat with the save game editor. I haven't gotten to Horizon yet, so I'm eager to compare the romance vs. non-romance conversations.

I'm doing a playthrough with a Shepard who left Kaidan behind on Virmire. Everytime either he is mentioned or Ashley it feels weird and makes me sad. I keep having to stop and remind myself he is in every single one of my other playthroughs romantic or not. I need at least one so I can see Ashley.

I just always go for human males. Garrus was cool and thane but neither felt right for me. It's always Kaidan who feels perfect for my Shep.

I tend to go for humans too, even in DA:O and DA2, the humans were more enticing to me than the elves (although Varric could have been an exception, SIGH).  But Jacob just didn't seem interested in my FemShep, and I wasn't interested in pushing him to open up, especially when Shepard was using that awful tone of voice...

I really hope Ashley gets a good role in ME3, but the only way I'll see it is with a Gibbed's Save Editor savegame from ME2, or with the choices ME3 gives us.  I can't do Virmire again, if I can help it.  It sucks, because I really do have fond memories of ME1, but when I start a new game these days, I can't bring myself to finish it, much less go to Virmire at some point.

I also have two ME2 saves that are characters that I *meant* to have deaths during the suicide mission.  I have a feeling I'm never going to get up the nerve to take them through the Omega Relay.  

I'm a total wuss.

I don't think I'll ever be curious enough about the Liara romance to do it. <_< I don't like the Asari.......

Yeah, I generally go for the human males as well. Garrus is more of a brother to my Shep.  Kaidan is perfect for my Shep as well. They're best friends. <3 *sap*
I just want to finally get the paramour achievement and I think Thane is perfect for my other non-cannon Shep. No way could I romance Jacob either.

I have a Shepard for almost all the Female LIs. Each Shepard has a slightly different personality so they fit with their designed LI. But my main belongs to Kaidan; heart, mind, body, and soul. Her canon is the one true canon for me. All my other playthroughs are for funsies.

Personal I don't like using genesis mainly because all killable NPCs are dead: Conrad, Shiala, Fist, etc. Anytime I mess up and accidently let Kaidan's romance go to far I just go for it 100% then use Gibbed to make him unromanticed. Cheating, I know, but its better than leaving him on Virmire. Plus I get to see Kaidan's romance without any negative affect after I romance Thane, Garrus, or Jacob.

Lol I got the genesis dlc thinking I was gonna save Ashley but when it said Kaidan or Ashley, I still saved Kaidan. Lol I've got to make a playthrough with Ashley though. It just makes me sad killing Kaidan.

I know! I used Kaidan and Ash a LOT this run. Then I romanced Liara... so the VS is REALLY a heart wrenching toss up...

It wasn't hard to have a playthrough where I saved Ashley instead because I just want to see her rock it as a tough woman who rises through the ranks on her own merits under the shadow of her grandfather's actions. I just want to cheer her on so that removes any Kaidan guilt I may have. I did google for instructions on how to turn off Kaidan's romance so I could hear the same conversation dialogues that male Shepards get. (Also to judge whether or not Kaidan really was "whiny" to a non-romanced Shepard. Helps gives me perspective on what's forum hyperbole and what's a legit observation.)

As for cheating consequences, I'm not expecting much. Bonus dialogue, that's it. (Just like Liara handling any break-up in LoTSB.) WORST case scenario that I could even imagine was that it might affect Kaidan/Ashley's loyalty in the final mission. I doubt it. Romance is optional so the game has to play out equally for all players so the cheating stuff can't impact the overall story too much. I wouldn't sweat it. Just spend more energy dreaming about the hawt make-up sex. =p

Wish I was a PC gamer, would make my life alot easier! Both of main canons are Kaidan romanced, I don't want to do a "unfaithful" save until I know what happens. I would try and do gibbed for my xbox but I have no idea and dont want to get my xbox banned. I'm also a Mac user so I doubt i would work anyway.

I was such a dunce and deleted my Garrus/Thane saves which is annoying, I haven't really got the energy to re-play but I just finished off my ME2 canon all ready for ME3. So I might just play around with a maleshep never played one before.

It's like in DA:O AND DA2 I always go for Alistair and Fenris, I can never romance anyone else.


Everytime I replay I always mean to romance Liara but I just can't. If she were human maybe? I dunno, I think it's her personality. I shall one day....

*high five* I'll probably never do a Liara romance either. My first few playthroughs I thought of her as a sister, but after playing ME2 and more ME1, she just scares me. For my Renegade Sheploo, I was like "Okay, I want to save Kaidan on Virmire, so maybe I'll romance Liara... no wait, screw that. I'll romance Ashley and Virmire her." I'm not fond of the Asari as well, why do they all have to hit on me? Yeesh. I'm just like "Hi, did you need some assistance?" and they're taking their clothes off and trying to mindrape me. 

I like Garrus as well, but he seems better as a friend that has my Shepard's back, his romance made me go "Ehhhhhh, awkward!" And I don't know if I can romance Jacob because of FemShep's sexual harrassment voice. 

My Canon FemShep romances Kaidan and stays faithful.
Non-Canon FemShep is single in ME1 and romances Thane in ME2.
Sheploo will romance Ashley before Virmiring her, then... I dunno for ME2, maybe he'll be a player.

I do worry abt. Legion. Truth is, I've come to adore that lil hunk of nuts and bolts. There's an innocence abt. him. For a robot, he has so much understated personality. I was talking to Anderson (i brought Legion to Citadel just to see), and Anderson called hima "Trophy Bot". I kinda ticked me off. Then i turn around to Legion and he's doing the Robot dance....awww.

One time in ME2 I was watching the news thing and this Turian walks up, stands there and is just looking at me up and down. It wasn't a glitch like he was just stuck trying to walk by. It was weird. I was like wth? Legion rolls up behind and stands there looking at this Turian like , "What? what, you got sumthin' to say? Push off."

The turian looks at us both, then turns and walks around us both while Legion swilvels around watching him leave until he's gone.

It was weird. I'm use to some of the passerby's getting stuck trying to walk around you, but iyt wasn't like that. Then the reaction of Legion...(and Miranda rolled up, too. but Legion was eyeballing the guy...it was odd..lol)
