for Kaidan's goodbye
I was meh at that time
but when he grab and kiss Shepard
and I lost it
I cried so hard when he said "I can't lose you again"

There wasn't a lot of male eye candy for Shep and Kaidan to ogle together in ME1, unlike the Asari strippers and Liara/Ash on the Normandy. There's a distinct lack of attractive guys on whom he could comment so it wouldn't necessarily have come up like Asari do.

In addition, one could argue that Kaidan's Asari "fetish" stems from the fact that they don't have a gender. You could extrapolate from there, razor or no.

I could also just assume that he likes girls as well as guys.  But there are no male dancers to comment on in the ME universe (more's the pity) so we never hear about it.

When did he said he was? (once again, in ME1 release, no hacks, no hidden stuff etc)

He didn't, just like he didn't say he wasn't. Means it could go both ways, but since he's sleeping with my male Shepard in ME3, we know which way it went :)

The bigots have their opinion and no facts will get in the way.

I don't have the quote anymore, but I had a gaming magazine where a BW rep did say that Kaidan and Ash were planned to be "Bi" in ME1.  They dropped it durring development but some of the voice work and animations are still on the ME1 disk.

The fake outrage about Liara and a FemShep was already out in the press.  The "Won't someone please think of the children." brigade was already sharpening their sticks.
In this case, I agree with BW's decision at the time.  They didn't need more "bad press" for ME1.   I wish they did follow through and put it into the game as they planned but I understand.
Fact is, the data on the disk.

So why do you think they didn't make Thane and Tali bi in the second game (as it seemed to be originally planned)?  Is potentially bad press really an excuse for that?

Good morning Monday! have a femshep fanfic update:

Ragnarok Chapter 7: Entanglement

also at fanfic.net

Because I really wanted the game to clear up a few things re: Shep's rank vs. Kaidan's, etc. and it just never happened.

I didn't even really notice until I played Mshep and I got the same weird convo option that immediately occurs after his weird making out memory (someting like, "I wasn't expecting that!"), only in the Mshep conversation that memory never occurred.

With Tali, she'll tell you she feels comofortable linking suits with you regardless of gender (and in an adorkably cute way).

I don't know where I read it or if any of the files made it on the disk.

Let's be honest. It is obvious that majority of ME1, ME2 (and also ME3) dev team was made of straight guys. We only see female strip clubs, we only see female hookers, there are entire missions involving flirting with women (Morinth, Sha'ira - yes, to us - human players, they are women period) but no missions involving flirting with men, women touch Sheps intimately when they feel like and regardless of how Sheps feels about it (Sha'ira, Gianna, Shiala), "everybody loves Asari", the entire Asari race is a wet fantasy, not to even mention the creepy Ardat-Yakshi fetish thing, catsuits, sexbot bodies, fetish sites with Asari MILFs etc etc. It is only in ME3 when we finally start seeing male sex-appeal being brought on the table, and it's still nothing compared to the way females are being commented on.

This isn't really an accusation. If the games were made mostly by straight girls/gay guys, I would expect similar disproportion, just reversed. But the point remains.

I don't think Shepard goes for a hug—I think he straight up aims to walk past Kaidan and just continue on? It really looks to me like he's walking away.

Which does feel a bit odd. Maybe if they had clasped each other's hands during the farewells, but they just sort of stand around and shift on their feet, and then Shepard moves to just leave. You're really just going to walk away, Shepard? Really?

Of course, it also reminds me of one of the most adorable things I've ever seen here. (Of course, this time he ends up with a passionate kiss instead of ice cream.)

Image IPB

Agreed on both counts. Super adorable, this made my day. :D

Shepard is way too stoic during their farewell in London.

I was shocked that Tali wasn't considering how she practically drools on Shep, no matter the gender. Thane I didn't expect to be since they made it very clear that he was female fanservice from the word "go". I'm not really up on a lot of insider info or reviews so hopefully someone else will answer.

I never got that!  Cool.  I've honestly never pursued anything with Thane with any Shepard.  I know he's a favorite, but the dead wife, the kid, the terminal illness, it was all just too much baggage for me.

With Tali, she'll tell you she feels comofortable linking suits with you regardless of gender (and in an adorkably cute way).

Oh see I just thought that was because Tali is incredibly socially awkward.  The only person she's normal around is Garrus.  I love her shotgun line with him in ME2.

But I can't really understand why they wouldn't put it in?  Ran out of time/resources?  Because Kelly's an option for either Shepard.  Which is why it's really a shame it took until ME3 to get BroShep some dude love.  I mean, if the argument for asari is they aren't really female, it's totally not fair that Kelly's an option for FemShep and they don't balance it out.

Yeah, you know, playing as a Mshep for the first time gave me some real perspective.  Because throughout the games it seemed like women were coming onto me right and left.  This doesn't happen for Fshep.  At all.

Also, I was kind of disapointed when I learned that couple of straight guys wrote the Traynor romance.

I did not know that bi-Tali or Thane in ME2 was planned.   I mean not an offical word on it, but I wasn't following the topic, or really ME2 as a whoel too close either.

I really like what you've written! Personally though I don't think there was ever a command conflict between Kaidan and Shepard with regards to rank. The Alliance had assigned the original Normandy to her and she was the Commander of the SR-2, they never officially revoked that. While Kaidan may be the ranking officer on board he was never assigned as the ship's captain which means that it's still Shepard's ship. I could be wrong as I'm not in the military but that's just how I saw it.

Can't wait to read more of your work! Image IPB

If you wanna know why there was no gay romances in ME2: clicky

Go to "Stormwaltz" reaction to Casey's announcement of gay romances in ME3 from May last year. Stormwaltz = Chris L'Etoile.

Asari are women.  I don't care what anyone says.  They've got boobs, a female voice, they birth children, etc.  There may be butch Asari, but they're still women.
