So, that answer to criz's question...about Ash and Kaidan being individuals...he mentioned them being influenced by how we "built" them....

does that mean that my alien hating Kaidan will still, hate...? Because he was MUCH more aggressive at the end of ME1 than my "normal" Kaidan.

A little late to the discussion, but first playthrough aside, I never ever leave Kaidan behind. (That playthrough did not carry over to ME2). I do like Ashley and my boyfriend has saved her quite a few times so I will just watch his playthrough to see her story without feeling guilty. Though the whole time I'm watching I'll probably be thinking poor Kaidan...

I am the same way and I don't know what it is. I can make all kinds of different decisions: be a paragon, renegade, paragade, or renagon, but I always romance the same people. Alistair, Anders, and Kaidan. I can't stay away from them!

I can't see it not happening, really. But even then, I don't think you'd be able to put the moves on him if the romance isn't there. Sad times, Shep would have to resort to listening to Coldplay and writing angsty poetry.

The only trouble I have with this is that you can't make Kaidan xenophobic unless you played as a female and romanced him, and you can't make Ashley open-minded unless you played as a male and romanced her.  Meaning that for anyone playing the same gender as Kaidan is stuck with goody-goody Kaidan.

I believe Garrus is the only one that you can shift regardless of your gender or romance partner.

My guess is that it has more to do with the actual "build" being that if you took Kaidan more techy or more biotic it will reflect in how he plays in ME3.

So how do people build Kaidan?  What do you emphasize?

Slight change of plans peeps. First ME3 presentation will be 15 minutes earlier, at 11:30am (5:30 EDT, 2:30 PDT) just saw David say it on BioWare TV.

Since I usually prefer to play either Adept or Vanguard, I tend to beef up Kaidan into tech, especially to get into locked doors and crates in the early part of the game.

If the state of Kaidan's abilities will be based on ME1 save, in my 60th lvl import his class would be called "Biotic God", no less.

But I guess "built" means "influenced", and even in this case it'll be extremely pleasant to see player's effort on influencing won't die without trace (Garrus, I'm looking at you)

EDIT: "didn't know they live in Vancouver"? Brilliant. First devs call one characters "Sanders", but then change it because likely remember that there's already character called Sanders. I won't be surprised that Shepard's trial will move to another city/Kaidan's parents will move to another city now

That question I asked again during the Live Q&A Chat at 12 but neither Mike nor Reid even knew Kaidan's parents live in Vancouver lol so they didn't have any answer lol

Though I kind of think if they didn't know about it, it could mean it's not referenced/brought up in anyway at all. Otherwise, they would knew playing ME3 right? Well, we'll see

I went to the site that got linked in one of the ToPs, but it said they start late, then reloaded all the time ... eventually decided to get some dinner, but checked inbetween and at some point it just gave me the option to replay chat ... which doesn't really work either
