I'm trying to get as many missions done with Kaidan as possible. Last time I played  this part of ME3 was on the day of the release and nobody really knew about these details (I thought they would all expire after the Citadel Coup)

No problem!  I've been wondering about Tuchanka: Turian Platoon because I thought that it expired after Priority: Tuchanka  but then IsaacShep said it didn't so I'm going to try to take Kaidan on that one for my next playthrough.  I've taken him for the bomb and the Rachni but not the platoon.

Does anyone know if you can start a romance with Kaidan if you told a previously-romanced Liara that you are "still interested" after the Mars mission? I just recently started an imported FemShep because, well, the five playthroughs I've done thus far have been with Sheploo and I want to play as one of my FemSheps. Could have used one that romanced Kaidan in ME1 but I like this one the best with her deep blue eyes, dark gray hair, and renegade demeanor without the scars.

I have no idea, never romanced Liara in ME1...

you can romance anyone, i think you just have to make sure that you visit him in the hospital, give hm gift, etc... like you would in  a normal romance... when he asks you to dinner make sure you vist him first and not Liara I guess...

and maybe not encourage Liara romantically in any way?

Failing all that.. just use your fave Shepards face code on the Kaidanmanced version.. as you have the chance to change the face before you start

Dear Kaidan Thread,

So I know I’m probably going to get a lot of backlash for this, but I wanted to go over a few of the forum rules of conduct.  I feel that this thread is becoming more and more exclusive, and I know that there are others who share my opinion.  Of course, I realize that’s not anyone’s intentions, because, after all, the moar kaidanz, the merrier.  So here are a few guidelines and gentlereminders:

5. No Spam. Spamming can be defined as posting multiple times about the same thing, starting multiple topics about the same thing, posting off-topic posts in other people’s discussion threads or topics, or providing links that have nothing to do with the forum, topic or subject at hand, or taking existing discussions off of intended topic. Spam will bedeleted without warning. Posting single images or animated .gifs instead of discussion is considered spam and is not wanted here. What constitutes Spam isup to the discretion of staff and moderators.

Believe it or not, it’s okay for the thread to go without apost for over 20 minutes.  Spamming the thread with pics and gifs is not the best way to revive intelligent discussion.  Personally, I’m against bumping the thread unless, you know, the unthinkable happens and we somehow fall off the front page.  Users will still be able to find the  thread to contribute to the appreciation of everyone’s favorite Major.    I even think gratuitous Kaidan photos are appropriate at the right times (ex. In celebration of hitting a thread page milestone), but it shouldn’t be the focus of posting each and every day.

6. No posting single images or animated images. Posting single images or animated .gifs/images instead of engaging in discussion is not allowed. These are discussion forums and that means engaging in dialog, not picture spam. Using images to support your discussion is fine as long as the images used conform to the standard forum rules (no adult content,no slander, no racism, etc). Posting single images instead of discussion will be considered spam and will not be tolerated. Images will be deleted without warning. Posters may be banned for repeated offenses.

Related to #5.  I’m all for the sharing of Kaidan (and Kaidan related) imagery.  Please come by and share your latest fan art, or the really cool new thing you found on tumblr, but make sure that it contributes to the conversation (ex. Wouldn’t it  be great if Kaidan had his blue biotic glow during the final romance scene?  Check out what I found by AwesomeArtistX).  Continually posting single images just for the sake of “being on topic” inhibits coherent discussion as it makes it difficult to follow the chain of a discussion across multiple pages when conversation is interrupted by images.

8. Stay on-topic.  There will be some leniency on this, and we don't mind if you bring in new ideas or new ways of looking at a topic or idea, but stay focused. If you think it's a good enough topic, start a new thread about it. This also prevents losing a good idea in a thread about another topic. Threads that wander off-topic will be closed and/or trimmed or moved to its appropriate forum

I get it.  We all have lots of common interests outside of Kaidan, too.  And I think it’s awesome.  It’s great that the BSN is a place where you can meet like-minded people and share lots of ideas, so the conversation will wander, and that’s fine.  After all, who doesn’t love a good basement joke?  People in the thread can provide great perspective on, say, other games you might enjoy now that you’ve finished your 17th playthrough of the ME trilogy (because we've all been there).  But the off topic discussions should be kept short and sweet. The thread shouldn’t get lost amid posts about what everyone is doing at any given moment.

You know what’s a great example to follow?  The KAAS SWTOR guild – people discovered they have a common interest and wanted to play together, so they started a group where they can continue the discussion without clogging up the thread with off topic posts.  The Kaidanites MP Group was formed in a similar way, and I am ever so thankful that I have so many people to play with me, but a giant exchange of gamertags would have completely
derailed the purpose of the thread. 

9. This is not a phone. Conversations are for the telephone, IRC, etc., not for these message boards or the Social site. Private discussions can take place through the Private Message system or other external means and are not welcome on the open forums.

Please keep this in mind. I support everyone coming in and posting as frequently as they like, but your post should have some content to it. A post that simply says “Hi, I’m here,” or (and I know I’m blowing up everyone’s spot here, and for that I’m truly sorry) “Hug attack,” does not contribute to the discussion.  These are things that can be done via PM.  This is not to say that there should be no personal discussion, whatsoever.  In fact, I have made some great friends through this thread.  But over the last several weeks, it has dominated the discussion of the thread to the exclusion of Kaidan-related discussion, which is what we are all here for.  It can become very difficult to post when it feels like comments related to Kaidan are unwanted and interrupt a stream of dialogue that a few users have going leaving out the rest of the community.

At some point in time I’m sure we’ve all been guilty of bending or breaking some of the forum rules (I know I have – I’m pretty sure everyone who’s been here since the game came out is very much aware of my persistent lack of Turian Sentinel), but let’s try to keep the thread well maintained and inviting for all members of the community.  I’m not trying to be draconian, or some kind of spoil-sport, so please take these comments as they are intended: a polite guide to forum etiquette (these are from BioWare’s posted code of conduct after all), not an angry manifesto.

I've been guilty of breaking those rules as well, but I think you're right that there's been more hug attacking and off-topic chatting than actual Kaidan talk, of late. I love that it's friendly in here and I've certainly had a great time talking with you all but sometimes it is like walking in on a chat room instead of a character thread.

If we're going to keep this a viable LI thread we have to get new blood in as people find the series and NOT get shut down by a forum mod who sees us wandering off-topic more than on. [shrug] Maybe some prompts or weird questions like, "What do you think Kaidan eats for breakfast?" would help.

Can we maybe have a link to the KAAS SWTOR and MP groups somewhere, though? I don't know where to find either of them and...I don't know if you've ever tried to search for something on the BSN but, trust me, it doesn't work. Hell, Google gives better BSN search results than this board does.

Duh!  Never thought of checking the OP.    The description for the MP group is exceedingly hostile, though.  I don't know the organizer so I'm not going to "apply".

I picture Kaidan as more of a waffle guy, maybe an egg or two on the side with sausage crumbled in and I'm definitely with you on the cheese.  But for some reason I see him digging into a waffle covered with strawberries and whipped cream, given his preference.  Well, maybe that's more my preference, Kaidan, whipped cream, and strawberries at breakfast. 

That would be ToP, wouldn't it.  <_<  Not waffles, but...
