On-Topic. If Kaidan wasn't a Biotic/Tech based, would you picture him as a Infiltrator or a Vanguard (replaced one with soldier) or would you picture him Full biotics/Tech

Edit: I'd personally go with Adept/Vanguard because without Biotics, Kaidan isn't... Kaidan.

Regarding the priority missions for Tuchanka. I have played it both ways. It is better (my opinion) to do the Rachni Priority Mission to trigger Genophage Missions and all other needed quests to finish Part 1. Once you complete the Citadel quest and Kaidan is a member of the team you can then do the first part of rescue the Turian patrol and then the bomb quest. Kaidan has a lot of lines in both quests and nice one on the shuttle with Shepard. I do the absolute minimum amount of quests before getting Kaidan to have him in the squad the remainder of the game. It felt longer to me doing the Rachni / Save Platoon quest first and the the Turian Platoon/Bomb second. I hope that is what you were all asking. If not, sorry....

On-topic, what do you think Kaidan does in he's spare time between missions (when i mean that i don't mean spending that time doing make-out sessions with shepard.)

Well after seeing him in the lounge playing with poker, and down in the engineering room, I suspect that's kind of what he does. I think he probably follows up with the nameless marines on the ship, picking up some of the slack with what he used to do as Staff Lieutenant on the SR-1. When he's got some personal time when he's not with Shep, then he's kicking back with Vega and Garrus and playing poker and drinking and being bros, or geeking out with Tali and EDI over tech stuff. I actually think he probably spent a lot of time trying to get to know EDI and understand her situation. He seems like he'd try to understand the unshackled AI before condemning it. Although he'd prolly be down with EDI.

Yeah, I thought it would be really cool to get his oppinion on Grisson Academy. After what he went through with Vyrnnus, I think he'd have a lot to say about how biotic education has changed from his first experience with Jump Zero. I sort of can't believe they didn't set that mission up for him, but I guess it would've been meaningless for Ashley sooo....

Yes!!   A lot of Kaidan's identity is tied to his being one of the first human biotics.

I can't imagine him without biotics. That's a big part of his character.

Oh and a belated goodnight to you.

I totally agree. When it comes to Ashley, they could have possibly done a mission where you might encounter one of her sisters? It wouldn't need Ashely per se, but she would have unique dialogue on such a mission same for Kaidan having possible unique dialogue on Grissom.

I would love to have Kaidan along for Grissom. It would have given a great reason to talk more about BAaT (and Jack could have told him how badly he could have had it).

Oh, I thought that was your Tumblr page.  Thanks for posting the link then, it's now my Head-canon for me.  I hate the thought of my crew & Kaidan stuck on some unknown jungle planet.

You're talking about Isaac's link to Alisha Torn's comic, right? If you are then I'm right there with ya.

@dstrawberrygirl
That pic is so cute! Why does it look like it has more detail than actual IG? Did they doctor it up in Photoshop or something?

Adept or vanguard feels like the natural choices, because of his backstory as one of the first biotics and how his experiences from that time in many ways defines him. But personalitywise, I have a hard time imagining him as a vanguard, throwing himself into the thick of the enemies like that. He's a strategist and a planner, and also a team player, so adept it is for me then. I'd miss his tech geekery if that was the case, though. ;)

I thought as well, and was taken back a bit when I realised that they simply hadn't scripted the game so that we could see that part of Kaidan. It's a wasted opportunity if I ever saw one. I doubt Ash's lack of connection to the mission had anything to do with it; rather, I think it's because the Cerberus attack on Grissom Academy is tied to the attack on the Citadel. First we see them infiltrate Mars, then Grissom, and then bam, the whole Citadel. But I would have loved to bring Kaidan there.

Speaking of bringing Kaidan with me on missions - I was disappointed that he had so little to say about Eden Prime. I saved that mission until after the Citadel attack for my first playthrough, but all I got was like one line of dialogue. The geth attack was his and Shepard's first mission together; coming back there should have brought it full circle. I wonder if Ash got more dialogue there, seeing as she was stationed there when the Geth attack first hit?

Since I'm on the topic of getting as much dialogue from Kaidan as possible, I've noticed that the squadmates seem to have some kind of priority when it comes to commenting on a specific mission. Is there some kind of list somewhere of who to bring and not to bring with me beside Kaidan, in order to get the maximum amount of dialogue from him?

Yeah, that's true.  I'm not sure how it works, though.  If you bring Garrus on the bomb mission on Tuchanka he supercedes anyone else's dialogue, and I think Liara does it on the Ardat-Yakshi mission.  Likewise, Tali takes dialogue priority on the Rannoch mission to save Koris.  Those are alittle move obvious because they're tied to the locations.  On missions like Grissom Academy or the Cerberus scientists I have not idea how they decide.

It sucks that Liara totally pwns Eden Prime, particularly considering she can't understand the Prothean messages that despite rummaging around in your head in ME1 and she turns out to be pretty much wrong about everything.

I saved that mission until I got Kaidan back because I wanted some nostalgia from him but instead I got, "Ooooh, look at me, I'm the Prothean expert!" I would far rather have brought Garrus so Kaidan and I could tell him about the first Reaper we ever saw.

This this this this this. The dialogue with Kaidan on the shuttle down to the dig site was touching, but I wanted MOAR of that and less of "This is a Prothean, blah blah monotone boring Prothean blah blah boring monotone Shepard blah blah Prothean monotone"

I hate you, Liara.

I have nothing against Liara, (at least nothing effective, lol), but in my second playthrough it is creeping me out that she is waltzing into my Shep's bedroom in the middle of night that often. Uninvited. I know she has urgent messages from X then, but god use the frikkin comm to call me, you damn stalker. Ugh.

Finished the bomb side with Kaidan the first time yesterday. The line about Ashley and his short convo with Garrus afterwards on the Normandy were a nice touch. Too bad I chose to save the Rachni mission instead of Platoon, though. Ah well, next time.

I would love it if they did character-based DLC for everyone. It's an expansion option that BioWare could use to milk money from people for ages plus we'd get more content for our favorites. I suppose they're a little more concerned with seeing how the EC goes rught now, though.

Liara creeps me right out and I leave her on the Normandy whenever possible.  Had I been able to I would have left her on Mars.  <_<  I want to say to her, "Look, woman, I'm with Kaidan.  You've got no hope.  You never have.  Go spy on some people and leave me alone."

hahaha have you seen those gifs/pics of cartoon people throwing their money with the quote 'my money, take it!!'... I am totally this when it comes to DLC... if Bioware are smart they will do a VS Dlc, they will have people throwing their cash at them

You know, I totally didn't have and issue with Liara until ME3. I thought LotSB was awesome and I was even kindof looking forward to seeing her be a super badass Shadow Broker. Unfortunately she's the worst Shadow Broker ever (I mean, Diana Allers is the only person who doesn't know that it's Liara - and what does that say about her reporting skills?), and she inserts herself into every mission. It just feels forced to me. The only mission you're required to bring Kaidan on is Mars, with Liara it's Mars, Eden Prime (why? couldn't she have just jumped up and down once Javik was back on the Normandy?) and Thessia.

Of course I took Kaidan on every mission I possibly could. So I will gladly throw my money at BioWare for a chance to have more Kaidan content.

Yes, Mischief & Musings is exactly the one I was talking about.

Now about getting Kaidan earlier, I just restarted my Niko Shepard, so I'll have to try it.  I usually go do all side missions (except fetch ones) then the priority.

hahah whats funny is, I hated Liara in all the games up until ME3.... for me she seemed to grow up quite a bit in the last game..well except for the Thessia stuff but I choose not to remember any of the aftermath of that lol

Taking Kaidan to the bomb mission without Garrus in the group gave me the most :crying: dialogue, the bit about Ash sacrificing herself was pretty poignant...even though I hate Ash's character and kill her without blinking every time lol

Its amazing that I have played this game so many times through and am still getting dialogue I didnt know about.. just by tweaking order and who I take... <3 that about this series

...I did the Rachni without Kaidan this time through - first time through I left it for when he was with me and he did not have much to say. So I did Rachni, every single side questy thing before Tuchanka, then I did the genophage cure, then citadel, then I had Kaidan with me for the platoon and bomb missions. Take him with anyone non-Garrus and you get some great Kaidan lines. But if you have Garrus, Kaidan is much more silent....

Thanks Strawberry, that'll be my plan of action then.   Moar Kaidan is good Kaidan!

I can understand why they want to lock some squad members into certain missions (VS/Liara on Mars, Tali on Rannoch, Garrus on the Palaven moon, etc), but I feel very strongly that Liara shouldn't have been locked in to Eden Prime. It lowers the fun of replaying the initial mission significantly, since Liara gets almost all dialogue, and the other squadmate gets pretty much nothing. And I'll have to play through the DLC mission like 6 times to get all the squad mates dialogue. Well... At least I get Javik, who I like a lot. :)
