Well, as long as the other part is true I'll get over it.     I only got a few missions into DA:O, it's installed just haven't played it since whatever-game-it-was that pulled me away.


I like Liara but I hate how much she's forced onto your squad.

I can never take anyone but Javik and Liara on the Thessia mission because I'm such a troll when it comes to her.  That and it drives me crazy that I'm falling off a cliff and, if Kaidan's there, he stands around watching the building fall while Liara dives in to save me.

I loved Javik on that mission (basicly the only time i used him) he's such a troll...

I have never taken Javik with me, but I saw some videos and now I can't wait to take him there

I like to headcanon it that Kaidan got up to the edge and was going to help but then Liara had a psychotic jealous episode and pushed him out of the way so that she could be the one to save Shepard "again", because psycho.


Edit: canon, not cannon. Finished work for the day; no need for head cannon.

For some reason I have less of an issue with Liara helping Shep in the temple than I do with Tali helping Shep on the geth dreadnaught. Maybe because Kaidan limps back into view after Liara helps Shepard - I sort of assumed he was injured and couldn't, whereas on the geth ship he clearly just stands there and does nothing. Annoying in both cases, though. Let Kaidan help me, dammit!

And yes, three forced missions with Liara is overkill, in my opinion.  I don't dislike her, but that was over the top.

ETA: Hmmm, breakfast.  With his metabolism I see Kaidan as a steak and eggs sort of guy - who would then try to steal my Shep's waffles with strawberries.  Whipped cream for... after breakfast.... .

3 forced missions... i only remember 2, unless you count "the start of palavan" as one...

and in thessia, Kai leng throws Liara into your companion so thats why they're partly injured

I hate both of those scenes.  I also hate that Liara is forced on you so freaking much.  I just want to scream every time I get the squad page and Liara is already selected /sigh

So the take-away here is that either way it's Liara's damned fault that Kaidan can't help Shepard up.

Does having Javik with you ever override any of Kaidan's dialogue? I know that he gets lower priority than Liara and Garrus on certain missions, and even EDI tends to get pretty mouthy, I noticed on my last run through... so I'm wondering if there's any "safe" character to take with that won't get a leg up on him conversation-wise. James seems like a pretty good bet, he doesn't seem to have a lot to say about anything, but I've never really used Javik so I don't know how much he has to say about stuff either.

I hate having to metagame in order to get the most amount of dialogue possible.
