So does anyone know what Kaidan's ethnicity is specifically? He seems like he might be Armenian or Georgian. Actually he might be Albanian. I'm just going by his eyes, hair color, skin color, and name (though name isn't a great indicator).

i skipped like 5-6 pages as i was busy watching buffy (never watched before now). and playing a bit of swtor and Ignoring me3 all together. But i keep getting ideas for fanfic, and aamvs.

Well, he's from Canada.... 

For whatever reason, Canada doesn't exist in ME (weird since half of the devs are in Canada). So by technically his nationality is likely American or "North American". I was asking about his ethnicity though.

I find ethnicity in the mass effect universe to be an interesting...development? I recall somewhere that the developers couldnt agree on how many nations exist in the mass effect world. (the US, Canada, and Mexico are all one nation-thing) And with the discovery and movement out into the galactic stage, it seems like ethnicity has become a hodge-podge, I bet you would have to look real hard to find someone a 100% of anything. I like it.

This is the hardest topic to discuss
Because in future (I mean in ME universe)
Almost everyone on earth have mixed ethnicity
In ME 1 he looks kinda south east asian to me
Maybe because her mom was in Singapore
But in ME3 he looks more mixed european and armenian

Well that's probably due to not wanting to really ****** anyone off in fear of "favorating" a certain race or nationaltiy. I too like the diversity and it's likely few are any single race.

Like much of the other characters, he evolves for some reason. 

But this far into the future, ethnicity (much like sexuality or religious identity) is probably all normalized and largely unimportant.

so whats your thoughts on BaAt, If Kaidan didn't join that palce how you think he would've turned out. do you think he will be same Kaidan, or would he be different. Would he still be in Alliance or would he be working on something else.

Kaidan wouldn't be Kaidan because he won't have the L2 implants, the migranes....
i think he'll still join the alliance though

I think that some of who Kaidan is was from the experience at BAaT.  (Which would be why I kept it in my AU fic).  I don't think... hmmm... can't think of the words I want to use for this.  I think he would be a lot more laid back, and might not have gone into the Alliance in that case.  I don't know.

Basically the events that happened at BAaT tempered Kaidan into the man he became.  You take those events out, then you take that tempering away, or have some other event temper him, which could most likely change how he was tempered.  Sorry for the metal working metaphors here, but that's really the only way I can think of to explain it.

My femshep did that, and she's not even a biotic (this was way back when my shepard would continuelessly bounce, it's all fixed now.. /cheers)
