Found this and I thought I just leave that here for your share of collective WTF--ery.

Poor Kaidan, he gets so much hate just for being a good guy and trying to do the right thing.  But yeah, at least he tried to explain his dislike rather than simply say "I let Ashley live because she has boobies."  Which I've actually seen guys say at Virmire while playing the game, always drives me nuts.

I save Kaidan in my Femshep's playthrough, but I've always related better to Ashley. Admittedly, I never gave Kaidan a chance. So, to rectify this, I went to Youtube and searched for the entire Kaidan romance... I really, really REALLY wish I could save them both now.

I know what you mean. I liked them as a pair back in ME1. I would have kept them as my second and third through all three games if they'd let me. Ashley is an awesome character. I love her comments in ME 1.

I'm also kind of a video game perfectionist. I didn't think bioware made a good enough case for me to not save them both. I could have done it. Same with Thessia. Both were forced fails and really got under my skin. Not because of the failure itself, but because Bioware forced it.

Right now I'm toying with the idea to make a m!Shepley/f!Shenko fic with my two shepards running in parrallel on the Normandy. Obvious only one gets the beacon and SpecTRe gig, the other's riding as an extra, but I think if Shepard wasn't distracted by Saren then he could have rescued both of them. So, if there's another N7 doing the rescuing while the other is fighting, then it might be doable.

Lol, I feel the same about the asari. I fully believe they had the knowledge to stop the reapers but chose to sit on it. I still didn't like being forced to fail there. I got Kai Leng to no health and I still failed. I killed him so many times it's stupid. If they're gonna make me fail, make it make sense.

EDIT:  I didn't fail Thessia. Thessia was lost before we got there. The asari failed Thessia.I failed to get that data and crush Kai Leng. 

I think with two Sheps you better be able to save them both! I've always liked the idea of a story with both m!shep and f!shep.

Kai Leng pisses me off too. Not his character, but the very limited appearances we get from him. What I wanted was a QTE fist fight with him. Omni-blade+Fists vs Ninjato+Claws, like something that just shouted 'This is personal.' and even Shepard going out of their way to block the way between himself and his comrades.

Also, After Thessia, what bothers me is that I couldn't go to my LI (Ash in that Playthrough) and recieve comfort. I have to GIVE comfort to the whiny Asari whose crying for a single planet when Shepard's had to leave his homeworld, watch others burn, assemble armadas and deal with political BS that would give everyone else stress-enduced heart attacks, hell - I'm surprised he's still standing. Why couldn't we have something like this?

I'll never understand why there wasn't a LI scene after Thessia. It was such a perfect set up. I went straight for Kaidan thinking was was gonna be a scene. Imagine my surprise when I found him...

I have nothing against Liara. Heck, since we got her she wouldn't get off my back about how sorry she is about earth, but your LI really should have said some words of encouragement/ awesome romance scene/ANYTHING but what we got.

Time and money and EA wouldn't let them have either. I swear, this game is awesome. Beautiful, but it needed to be left in the oven for about six more months. Its glitchy, more so than the last games but despite that.

I'm looking forward to my Kaidan romance in 1+3. Only started my femshep this afternoon.

Oh definitely. I love this game so much. I have no clue what playthrough I'm on. It's so awesome. I love the gameplay, the dialogue, just about everything really. It just could have been so much more. I can see the game it could have been and it makes me sad. I wish they'd have had more time. I wish we'd have had more time.

Enjoy your Kaidan playthrough! It's fun to see him develop as a character and really come into his own through the series.

Also the Thessia mission wasn't about saving Thessia from the reapers. It was simply about getting the information. Even if the mission hadn't failed and Shep had retrieved the data the planet would still have fallen.

So very much this.  Thessia was a sinking ship and all we wanted was the freaking captain's log.  And there's Cheaty McCheaterpants with his gunship because he can't hold his own in a fight (against three people, one of whom is Shepard, granted).

Coming back to the Normandy to have a good b!tch session about it with your LI was only natural, but apparently Liara's delicate sensibilities trump the perfectly normal desire to rant about her entire species to Kaidan.  <_<

Why do you think Liara is popular too?  She's wouldn't be nearly as popular if she didn't look, sound, and act like a female.

Me too!  At one time saving both *was* going to be in ME1.  I like that they make it a hard choice --makes it seem more realistic-- but hate having to loose one of them.   Kirahee is nice, but not a squadie (and a cool ME3 character arc if Thane doesn't live) but I'd rather have saved Ashley & Kaidan than him.

Righty.. all caught up again... @ the idea of more ME games... I'd maybe cope with one more, but I think the Shepard story is pretty well over and done with, All ME4 would be about would be rebuilding the Galaxy and considering how badly they borked the endings, I dont really have faith in their ability to do a 4th game justice

At the idea of there being an MMO made of this game.. for the love of sweet babeh jebus.. please no.. there are some truly epic MMO's about to be released this year and a Mass Effect one would just not be able to hold a candle to them.. GW2 alone is generating some massive buzz and I suspect based on preorders its going to dominate the MMO market for quite some time.. I just cant see how Bioware could compare to something so shiny fresh and new on the market when SWTOR isnt doing as well as they'd like it to

Just my opinion though, no need to spread it around

and focus on mission
