I think they have mShep still a little closeted.  The Kaidan & Shep "goodbye" hug & kiss in London was only because Kaidan pulled Shep in.   I was SO mad when I saw Shepard just getting ready to walk away from Kaidan, I said something like "Don't just walk away you bastard, you love him! Kiss him!"    Yes, I'd like to see Shepard say ILY in the EC but there is *SO* much else that needs "fixing" for the EC.

the goodbye scene's sweet, as to Kaidan holding Shepard back, well, someone had to make the first move, and it was Kaidan:), Shepard was worried that the goodbye will become real, maybe he prefers to stave off till they reunite, its still pretty sweet

I got the impression, perhaps from the "men in suits show up on your doorstep" line, that the kids were taken to BAaT, not that their parents sent them.  I imagine it would be stressful for families to have members with what are probably poorly controlled and definitely poorly understood powers.  How the individual parents deal with that would vary a great deal, though.

Even if the kids were sent by their parents I can't believe that they knew what it would be like.  Imagine having a teenger in your house prone to blowing things up when they get upset because they can't control their powers and there isn't anyone on Earth that can teach them how.  If some guys came to you and told you that they could help, do you suppose you might have listened, particularly if you have younger kids in the house?   I might.  It depends how much sheetrock I'd had to replace that month. 

Side note for leborum as I catch up: alt rock bands don't come TO tiny colleges, they come FROM them.  Or from Madison, Wisconsin.

Kaidan's entire attitude toward their relationship changed in ME3, whatever Shep's gender.  He'd always been tentative and let Shep decide if it went anywhere.  Even the message after Horizon puts it in Shepard's court.  But from the word go in ME3 he's committed and not shy about saying so.

I dont' know if that's because he's decided that the looming end of life in the galaxy trumps his carefully guarded emotional shell or if he's just been alone so long that he doesn't freaking care any more.  When he grabs Shep and kisses him or her, it's is final barrier dropping: "Screw the chain of command and all the Marines right behind me.  I'm giving you a proper goodbye whether you like it or not."

As game puts it - he never openly blamed them, had respect for them and in ME3 he's really sad after finding out his father left mom on Earth alone to get back to his duty.

He doubts that Singapour thing was really an "acident", but he does not blame mother for that.

Unfortunately, we don't even have their names mentioned, same as little known about their life (especially - mother). House overlooking English Bay, where he used to drink some beer was mentioned once, also last known location of his mother is some place with orchards , where she and his father went after reapers ivasion (theoretically - also in Canada, but no facts given, exept that they took shuttle). And if I remember things right - in ME1 it is possible to hear a line, saying that his cousin(?probably even sister, I had it only on my first play) has some kind of grocery buisness, so that she might help Zhu's Hope with suplies, it happens if you shoot ExoGeni representative instead of convincing him to keep the colony. If there is anything else lore-like considering his family - I'd love to know that.


ps: If I were you, ladies, and did not live where I am, I'd ask Sbarge not for a pic, but for a VOICE... <-) Something like ringtone, or just a short phrase on a mobile recorder.....*sigh*...trhough, probably his BW contract restricts such kind of things.

Doubt it. He read the letter from Kaidan out of his own free will AFAIK. As long as he doesn't charge for playing Kaidan, he can do whatever he wants.

But "horizon" letter was later removed, and remained only on YT reposts. I don't think he has any rights of using this char outside BWs ME official stuff. Sign on a pic is one thing, but piece of the record is another, especially if it has some direct ME-related meaning.

I just have to share a quick story. 

Friday evening my husband came home from work, hiding something behind his back.  He walked up to me at the computer desk, pulled out an awesome black N7 baseball cap, plopped it down on my head backwards, and said "This is your writing hat; henceforth you must wear it, backwards, whenever you are writing."

He rocks so much <3.  So does the cap .

Then my Normandy Repair Manual t-shirt got here yesterday.  My Mass Effect clothing collection now consists of 2 t-shirts, 1 hoodie, 2 pairs of shorts, and 1 awesome writing hat.  It's possible I have a problem, but I'm not going to worry about it!

Basically did everything right with Kaidan except killing the old Council AND didn't romance him (which means no +2 points bonus)?

If yes, could you test how the coup goes both when you take the Paragon/Renegade interrupt during the stand-off and when you don't take it?

Are you compiling a video that shows all of the outcomes or is this just something you're doing for the hell of it?

Out of the four times I've gotten to that point only the last stood out. For whatever reason after the first paragon interrupt Kaidan automatically stood down and then the scene played out as normal. The other times I had to persuade him. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but the save I imported for that last playthrough in ME2 I chose all of the paragon/nice dialogue choices on Horizon when we saw him there.

Unfortunately no Default ME3 has Thane & Kirahee dead so Kai Leng kills the Salarian councilor and it influences the points count. Plus, I'm not sure whether +2 romance bonus would count in default ME3. technically, you didn't even had a chance to romance him since there's no Genesis comic equivalent in ME3. So no, wouldn't be good

In any case, TAKE THE INTERUPT during the coup people Both Paragon AND Renegade (Paragon interrupt appears if you took Paragon line, Renegade if you took Renegade line) .It's the last chance to get some points with Kaidan and may save you if you messed up alot before that

My Renegon genesis shep did not romance Kaidan, killed the council, due to Genesis had no Kirrahe, but thane lived. She visited him in hospital and was nice to him on Mars. I can't remember what I did in the coup but I had no trouble saving him... if that helps!

Thanks!  I never read that one yet, I liked "Heavy Fire" though.  

well it's only one chapter at the moment...

I've decided to not read FanFic until it's complete, I'm already on the edge-of-my-seat with "Four Years Later" and I can't get hung on another cliff hanger until that one is resolved. 

Oh yes, I'm checking every day both of them, waiting for and update. And Epantiras comic Mess Perfect .
Although my Shep is usually Colonist, but this work prompted me to star a new ME1 game with Earthborn Shep... M.

When I was queuing for her there were quite a lot of guys ahead of me (I dont assume but they seemed to be fanboying over her ) so hopefully it wasnt all Kaidanites today.

A guy asked Nick Boulton what DA2 was. I kinda cringed...he still got a autograph.

Probably - I save often, so I'm sure I have one within a short space before then. Won't have time to replay til Weds most likely but can provide a report

I'm sure there were plenty of Ashley fans around and it's not that I don't like Ashley, it's that I like Kaidan more.
