Kaidan as fire for 2 reasons: 1. His dark hair and brown eyes reflect fire better. 2. The poem Fire and Ice talks about fire being desire. So Kaidan is desire, Shepard is hate. I thought of it this way, Shepard has been slight unemotional, frozen if you will. And Kaidan is just plain smoldering. Also Kaidan has walked through fire to get to this point and Shepard was lost to a ice planet. ...It makes sense in my crazy crazy crazy mind...
Makes sense. Although Hale put too much emotions in lines at ME2 to be "ice"... and I definitely should remember that not all Kaidan romancing Shepards are Vanguards...
In fact, this will work pretty well for reserved - or having troubles in living with own past - Shepards. Well, Kaidan tries to hide own emotions, but that constant slips? Probably I should reconsider the head canon for my Earthborn Paragon Sentinel.
