A strange thing was for me, that we got stickers with the words: "I love Bioware", "I love Mass Effect", I love Shepard" and "I love Miranda". - Why Miranda? Thats so unfair. I need some Kaidan!!!!!!!

Sadly the male LI's seem to get more attention due to more male players.

I'm surprised there wasnt a "I love Tali/Liara"

Hate to say it but sometimes makes me feel resentful that not all PC's get equal attention/merch :(

I'll make my own Kaidan sticker. *evil laugh*

@Jenova, you go girl!

also this....

I hate that too, because we pc players always get late stuff (and usually we don't receive free dlc's or codes for stuff like the ones for xbox players)...I mean, why they do that? if we (fans) are equal?? why they always leave us out for cool stuff??

That can seems a little bit resentful (and it is, a little), but c'mon....wouldn't you be resentful too if you're always ignored just to be playing games on a pc? I mean...what's with that? we're inferior beings for using a pc to play or what?

:bandit:

Ok, now that I said that....

Let's go back to Kaidan happiness...shall we?

There was also that BW ME2 podcast remark, "Nobody likes Kaidan."  At least he seems to be only "least popular" these days.  <_<

What, Jacob was beaten even in this question? Poor guy.

Nobody seems to remember Morinth anyway.

Thane Fan Thread - 44 pages, 1094 comments
Fewer Calibrations in ME3! - 67 pages, 1659 comments
The Good Stuff (3.0) - 24 pages, 581 comment

Male ME2 LIs in total: 135 pages, 3334 comments

Sometimes I'm very ashamed for being that talkative, but I feel like I'm belong here:P

Haha, I love these stats. Maybe us Kaidanites are just a bit more talkative than our fangirl/boy brethren respresentin' in the other threads? That or we really love to post nonsensical gifs to pass the time.

Where's this interview everyone speaks of? I am so far behind it's embarassing.

I remember said interview (here!)

At about 11:45, they start talking about the Virmire survivor being one of the first people you meet, and the interviewer goes, "Let's be fair, most people are going to see Ashley" and Casey replies, "That's probably true. There's some love for Kaidan out there... but not a lot." <_<

Basically drooling at KotOR, Carth's voice. Hope he has lot's of conversation so I can just listen.

He does! And it's nice to pretend it's Kaidan in a Star Wars universe if you're ever missing th sound of his voice. :P

@WhoKnew, I've never heard this interview either. Just hearsay about it.

@Geira, I agree with you. I'm a PC player right now too. I don't really know what would be useful for us, like the avatar for xbox is, so maybe that's why they're "ignoring" us. I don't think they're doing it intentionally. Think of the PS3 players too! But it would be nice to get some attention. It's okay to feel a little resentful!

Also, with love for Kaidan, we should consider the thousands of pages that make up all the KASTs. :D

Seriously? Even with the new art direction in DA2, Anders looks like Anders. How did Bioware deflect that constantly?

I really hope they make Kaidan an S/S option. I probably won't use the option, but he's so great, everyone needs a Kaidan of their very own. :wizard:

Late to the conversation, but this reminded me of when the Kaidan ME3 concept art was released and half the boards were like, "OMG, is that James Sanders Vega!?"

Thank you very much. :)

It kind of seemed uncalled for from the guy to be like "...Haha, yeah. Dead on my game!". But I suppose he has a point. Somewhat. Since the majority of the players are male!Shep players who go on to romance Ashley, etc etc.

Bah, anywho. Is it just me, or is Gamescom over and there is no Kaidans in sight? Hmm.

Yes. Hilary Goldstein. He's a known Kaidan hater. And he works for IGN which is self-explanatory. Here he is hating on Kaidan again:

Mass Effect 3 might be about big-scale battles and the fate of all worlds, but there's still time for love. There's an epic battle for Shepard's heart, after all. If you were suave in Mass Effect 1 and 2, then you have two love interests, both vying for you as worlds are about to end. This love triangle will be resolved by the end of Mass Effect 3, so look forward to walking off into the sunset with Liara. I mean, seriously, who else would you want to be with -- Kaidan?

He's the worst kind of a fanboy. He can't even contain it in his publications that are suppoused to be professional. But you know, IGN.

I'm gonna tweet 200-pages news to Casey.

Yeah, Gamescon was over quickly. Then well, there's PAX-- August 26-28th. Wow. Back-to-Back cons. O_o

Also, thinking about the confusion over the concept art was kind of lulzy. (I was still playing the first game by the time the concept art came out @_@)

Kaidan is covered regardless of popularity, due to the nature of the VS, so no worries there.

Or uncovered, I guess I should have said, since I'm posting under that pic of his apparently very manly torso... :D

I hate that guy. I really do. Remember reading that and thinking what an a-hole he is with his assumption that nobody would choose Kaidan on Virmire, and that every player is male or every male player would choose the girl to save. Ass.

Oh look, a Kaidan hater who loves Bioware's golden girl. This is me being surprised. <_<

When is it going to stop being cool to bash on the "straight male human who isn't a stereotypical badass" or other LIs? Kaidan and Thane are my favorite ME LIs, but it doesn't mean I automatically hate all other LIs. I don't like Liara, but it has more to do with her as a character (I could list all the things that annoy me about her, but then I'd just go off on a tirade and I don't feel like it :P), and nothing to do with her being Kaidan/Ashley's rival for ME1 LI.

The thing is, in the World of Grown-Ups, people aren't automatically repulsed by a male human who talks about his feelings, doesn't have massive tattoos and scars to telegraph his badassery, and is generally calm, responsible and loyal.  But many of the denizens of the BSN, and most game journalists, do not live in the World of Grown-Ups.

We should feel sorry for these people.  It must be really, really hard for them when they do have to make contact with fully functioning adult members of society.

You mean... when they have to leave their parents' basement for something other than comic book runs and conventions?! DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN! :o

Kidding.

I just find it funny when some gamers argue that they want "more realism" in their games, and then when realistic characters like Carth and Kaidan are made, they get knocked for being "normal and boring", while people start praising the "awesome badass" characters who are not realistic at all. Make up your minds people. <_<

Wow, I was going to use my google fu to find out if he had any relation to the guy who had uttered that infamous line a while back. Turns out they're one in the same person. Wowza. I remember going to the actual YouTube page of that video and commenting on it something like "Where can I sign up to be with Kaidan?!". There were others saying the same, too, so yay! :D

This. I also am here in the Thread of Love (haha) because I admired the work that had gone into Kaidan. He wasn't a default BAMF like we're all supposed to want to carry us off. He's almost just a regular guy and a bit of a romantic. Had things been a little different for my Shep, maybe she wouldn't be the same person at all. Just how it is. Bioware gave meh Kaidan, Sky, Alistair, Aarin Gend and let Obsidian give me Atton, and by the power of gray skull, I will fangirl over them.

OMG, do you know how disappointed I was at the lack of closure in KOTOR2 (both for the ending and with the "LIs" for the game), but moreso at the lack of LI interactions in the game?! Atton is one of my favorite video game characters EVER, and the most you could do was ask him to play Pazaak. Not to mention he gets jealous of Disciple, but only if your influence with him is lower than Disciple's. (which never happens for me) Ugh, if ONLY Obsidian was more willing to do romances, or let Bioware do them for the game... *sigh*

Okay, Atton fangirl moment over. Back to Kaidan fangirling:

I'd love to meet Mr. Sbarge and try to talk him into doing one of Kaidan's lines. He'd really be exhausted afterwards lol.

I did post earlier that I tweeted him a link to the thread...

Ah, yes! Ironically, I never was much of a gamer (although an avid sci-fi geek) until one day I picked up my brother's copy of KOTOR2  out of love for Star Wars and started playing out of boredom. I think I fell in love with Atton with the whole "Niiice outfit!" thing, haha. I totally agree. What got me was that even if you did that mission and wore the slave Leia-like outfit (it's a been a good few years since I've played the game, haha) and had to do the sexeh dance for the Hutt, there is nothing said by ANYONE! I was so upset. But then I discovered kotorfanmedia.net and all was ok.

I really should replay that game. Y'know...for science. :innocent:

But I suppose I'll HAVE to settle for some Kaidan.

Yes! I was hoping someone would post this. I've never gotten a good look at it before, but some people really consider Kaidan FAT?! But every male has the same body (not saying this as a bad thing, it would have taken ages to give everyone an individual body), to call Kaidan fat is the whole body type...
Guh, some people really get my goat with stuff like that. *grumbles*

Oh my god, I love this gif so much!

And, on topic... I'm really hoping, because Jacob's lack of hips in ME2 creeped me out and James Vega looks like the human equivalent of a tank, that BioWare gives us multiple male body types in 3. Kaidan's body in 1 was the sexiest piece of pixel sexy I have ever seen. Until Garrett Hawke showed up, anyway.
