I like your style, probably should take a closer look at the rest of story. I rarely follow others fics, but this one looks nice enough for me.

Kaidan wasn’t exactly a lightweight, after all. Given his armor, his muscle, and the fact that he was slightly taller than she, Shepard was having to use everything she had to get him up and onto her shoulders

Magnet boots do miracles, really 8P That's why they are part of a combat suit. And( as I supposed in a thread about femshep casual dress) very likely they are not optional even for a casual uniform while on a ship.

But open terrain scenes without any metal floor should work exactly like you said. I don't see any way of magnet boots helping outside station...Well, I could forgive that - they were restricted by game engine, after all (and also hoped no one would ever notice, heh). And we all got used to SOUNDS of exploding ships and lazers in Star Wars&Co...


ps:(edited) If I remember that scene right - there is some kind of "floor", as it's happens on a landing ground, part of station, if so - boots should work there and won't let them hop, but weight will still be 1\\3. I'm damn sure each (even non N7) soldier in ME is trained to act with lack of gravity, and in all cases our major will be 1\\3 of his original weight (got no numbers, but I'd suppose something like ~75kg) And as they approach the base - they walk on ground.

He lives in every ending provided you don't have crazy low EMS, and with the added benefit of keeping his lovely brown eyes in the other 2 endings.
