He lives in every ending provided you don't have crazy low EMS, and with the added benefit of keeping his lovely brown eyes in the other 2 endings.

Oh I know he lives in every ending, but I just can't kill EDI and the Geth, so I will always choose Synthesis unless I'm given a really darn good reason not to.

Synthsis ending (shepard dies) PC version + Flycam

I've heard of Flycam but I never thought of a good reason to use it. Thanks! I might have to do that now.

It's been rumoured by people and somebody on twitter (from bioware... i think) even confirmed that EDI and the Geth can survive the destroy ending...

Edit: searched forums, it's confirmed that people have her appear out the normandy when destroy is picked

and it's not a bug

If IT is true, I pick Destroy. If IT is false, I'm going with Synthesis too.

It frees Shepard from the Indoctrination, when the Crucible activates it destroys the Reapers only. Least based on what I've read/heard.

Ah, I haven't followed the IT but I do hope that the Geth and EDI can survive Destroy. I figure between the Asari, Quarians, Solarians, Humans and Geth the Relays could be rebuilt without too much delay.  Even if Shepard dies so EDI and the Geth can survive that'd be acceptable to me.

It's been hinted that the Star Child lies to you by saying that choosing the destroy option will kill all synthetics (EDI and the Geth included). What he's trying to do is to avoid the destruction of the Reapers so if you're leaning towards the 'destroy' option he lays a guilt trip on you to cnoose another solution.

If the IT is true, remember that the Reapers will do anything to have Shepard choose Control or Synthesis.  Choosing one of them makes Shepard indoctrinated.

Just wanted to point out that apparently fanfic . net, which houses a LOT of Mass Effect fanfic, is considering deleting all stories that are rated M or higher (or have sexual, violent, or language content). they're not putting a content filter on them like deviant art, just deleting them.

since ME is a rated M game, a lot of those fanfics are also M. it seems that if FF doesn't change their minds, a lot of fanfic is going to be gone and a lot of the fanfic community would also be lost.

there is a petition to try and convince FF to change their minds. me, personally, i'm all for proper cataloging of material (used to work in a public library, so i'm aLL for age-appropriate reading) but this is really looking like flat-out censorship. it's their site and their perogative, but i think they're going to shoot themselves in the foot if they do this. personally, i'd prefer to see them put on a deviantart style mature content filter if they feel they must, rather than do this.

anyhow, that's my little plug. if that's not appropriate, again, i apologize. just wanted to share that.

That is a damn shame. Protecting mature content from those not of legal age is fine and good. But completely censorship of the material? Unacceptable. I agree they should do something similar to DeviantArt or even Mass Effect Kink has a warning for mature content. Signed.

Wow...just, wow. If they do that, it wouldn't be just the Mass Effect stories that get deleted.  I have read some stories there from other fanfic worlds that would get axed.  I'm glad that I have other options for cataloging my own works and I'm able to read other authors elsewhere.

Most of their games catagories would be gone. Hell, I think most of every catagory'll be gone. There's very few I've noticed there that are 'kid friendly'. It's an internet website. How hard is it to have a content blocker that only registered and appropriately aged users can bypass?

I hope this post isn't too out of the blue, but I just wanted to say how surprised I am with Kaidan and my own opinion of him, and I thought this was the best place to do it.

The truth is that I never really cared much for him. Hell, I even found him very annoying during my first playthrough of ME3. I did a few playthroughs with Ashley, but I didn't like her much either and at least Kaidan is very useful as a squad member. So I imported a save file with him as the Virmire Survivor and to my great surprise... I actually liked him.

OK, so he's a little bit annoying on Mars, but his initial distrust of Shepard is justified and at least he's not judgmental about it. Afterwards, on the Citadel and eventually back on the Normandy, he quickly turns into a great guy and a great squad member. A little bit too intense for his own good sometimes, but he seems to be aware of that -- and so does Shepard, which leads to some funny moments. Talking about funny: he even lampshades at one point that there are actually people who find his sincerity annoying. I once did, Kaidan, but not anymore!

And hell, I just did the Sanctuary mission. I wondered what Kaidan was up to afterwards and I was fully prepared to hear him say the usual stuff about how disgusted he is and blablabla. But instead, he opens with this, in a voice even deeper than usual:

"Can you feel it, Shepard? Feel the quickening?"

Badass.

Yeah, weird, I signed the petition.   I agree they should properly rate the stories.

I have to admit that I am in the same boat is Rikketik. Gave Kaidan a chance in 3, now I've got a femshep runthrough. She's only about 3 hours in 1, but I'm planning to use an xp glitch to get her up (for some reason, probably my completionist nature, my characters all have to be max level before I finish a game.)

So...turning your team (Kaidan included) and every single sapient organic being in the galaxy into something half-electronic, Saren-like (and Collectors-like, listen to Mordin in ME2 about what reapers did to protheans) is NOT a good reason NOT to choose Synthesis?.. Tastes differ, I know... 8)

And now that I'm almost finished with "perfect" non-headcanon ME2 run I'm hesitating about what to do next. My inintial hopes were about EC being ready as I replay first two parts. And then to set geth and quarians into peace....probably...which feels unfair, as I know what happens in red. They killed good share of replay value for one of their best storylines for me here. And we still don't know if EC effects end-game only, or does it add things earlier (like,probably, on Mars or Thessia or Cerberus base or even some Normandy talks).

Well, when I say I think something is nice - that's usually what I actually think. So...if you'd fix gravity on Mars (and be just a little be more careful with "boring" things like physics and such;)) - I'd say you did a really good writing job.

Wish I could share some of mine drafts one day, but I don't feel my english is good enough for writings and literature stuff. Or, probably, I'm just too lazy to try and make proper translation (shame on me).

Since the warning about FanFic.net maybe pulling the M-rated content I went there to see if anything was new.   I found two new mShep+Kaidan Fics, both are very short and post ending.   Both are also perfect bittersweet and totally worth a read.
