OK, before we get all doom-and-gloom.  One, she admits that they don't tell "the lowly actors" really anything.  Second, I doubt Ashley would have too big a part in the EC (sadly that means either will Kaidan)  Thus we can conclude she doesn't know too many details about the EC over what she was told and could deduce from her work.

Now, take what we've been told, and all the interviews, etc one can see that the EC isn't going to be a total rewrite.  Star-brat isn't going away, RBG isn't going away but (for me at least) that doesn't mean the EC can't improve on the ending.  It's not what I wanted but I'll give it a chance.

Let's see what she said: At least two four-hour sessions.  I have no idea how much usable recordings they average per-hour but let's say 15min worth of usable material per hour.  That's still 2-hours total of usable recording for the EC and how much of that usually translates into game I don't know.   But that seems plenty for a LI Reunion or a Shepard funeral scene.

Sigh. But I refuse to give up hope until it comes out and I get to play it. Are we sure that they're only doing the EC and not additional DLC recordings too right now?

Well, it's rather weak evidence, but yesterday Jennifer Hale tweeted "Such an NDA week! ;)"  Could be anything of course, but this morning Mark Meer replied to her tweet with a ";)"...which strongly implies she was talking Mass Effect.  A week (give or take) of recording?  Either they are past the EC recording stage and recording for other, pre-ending DLCs, or the EC will be more than we expect.

Sadly, probably pre-ending DLCs :/.  But we can live in hope...

I saw that today and I'm going to choose to believe it's all going for the EC. At least I hope so. If they plan on explaining the ending more than it will definitely take a fair amount of dialog to do so. Ha. The ending was pretty... out there. I would definitely like some clarification.

Hey guys! I've budgeted it out and I can definitely go to DragonCon this year and get a chance to see Raphael Sbarge. Posted Image But I was wondering what I should bring for him to sign if I get a chance. Ideas?

When I met him I had him sign a couple things, one was a pic of Kaidan smiling, now it hangs above my computer and its sort of like having the actual portrait from ME2 in my room which is really cool so definitely get one for yourself :)

Started another play through of ME3, dammit Kaidan. I blame him.

Been so busy, have had no time to do anything really. Start my new job monday, so nervous.

Has anybody here been affected the ff.net purge? I'm not sure whether just to move my fanfics to archiveofourown..

I haven't been affected by it.  There are so many tens of thousands of stories on ff.net (over 7K stories for Mass Effect alone), I have to think the odds of any one story being targetted is going to be quite low.

That being said, if you have an account on Archive of Our Own, it certainly can't hurt to post your work there too.  I wouldn't delete what's on ff.net, because as I said it's highly unlikely that you (or anyone in particular) will be hit, but a backup (and maybe new readers) is never a bad thing :).

I don't write FF but I did notice some stories missing from my favorites list. :crying:  What theyr'e doing at FF.net is such a shame.  All those stories and reviews just gone.

Definitely a shame - there are a few that I read that haven't yet been hit, but due to their entertainingly graphical descriptions of activity I imagine they'll get shut down soon... I do hope they live on somewhere else if they do get culled.

On a separate ff-related note, did anyone else slave away for hours on a cover pic for their ff story only to find they display only the tiniest of thumbnails with seemingly no way to click to view the whole image? grr.

Really hoping the extended cut voice recordings are part of a good thing... replaying with infiltrator at the moment, having a lot of fun sniping Geth pre-Rannoch at the moment, but taking it slowly and savoring things so I can stop before the end and wait for the extra stuff to come out before I finish, but having done the dinner date on the Citadel I'm in the void between dinner and pre-Cerberus base action for Kaidan fun - reading fanfic is keeping me going!

Oh that sounds nice. Thanks. At times like these the lack of official Kaidan merch bothers me even more.

I have to confess, I totally did this.  I got all excited when I saw that ff.net had enabled images, seeing as I play with images in my spare time.  I took the cover I had made for the "If It Meant Living - Mass Effect 2" eBook and set about transforming it into a cover for the entire story.  I probably spent two hours deciding on the right crop of the original image then playing with the fonts for the title, then where to put the title, etc, etc.  Then I was finally happy with it, uploaded it fo ff.net, then went to look...

...and went..."Okay..."  :: clicks on thumbnail, waits for something to happen :: ..."Okay, maybe if..."  :: clicks again, waits for something to happen :: ...

"Well, f**k."

Hah, yeah the FFN-purge. To me it was a massively overblown internet drama. The stories that got deleted had swear words in their decription/title and thus were an easy target for their search engines. In total there were percentual not really many stories deleted, even if the community treated it like the purge of all M-stories ever submitted. Chances are if you have a modest title/description you will never ever hear from them. Oh teh drama <_<

As for the new feature of cover pics, eh, not a huge fan of it as it seems a bit...useless? The new layout is growing on me, though I hate how everything is in the middle now, leaving a big gap at each sides.

but having done the dinner date on the Citadel I'm in the void between dinner and pre-Cerberus base action for Kaidan fun - reading fanfic is keeping me going!

This is actually what brought me to write FF for Mass Effect. Filling the gaps in between, since the game is so frustratingly limited in interactions. The same I felt with DA:O...just not to this extend, but I wanted to see moar of my Mahariel Warden and Alistair. And, well, this eventually resulted in writing an on-going story which has recently breached the 500k mark (which are about 1300 sites in PDF-form) Yikes.

So I actually swore myself just to write short linked oneshots for my Shepard/Kaidan to explore their relationship more than the games allowed. Yeah...noble intent indeed, before my Shepard started to demand moar too. Now I'm halfway through the newest chapter and already at 6k of words *facepalm* Not only that, Shepard also demands to have her whole story told within. Which means the project will be much bigger than I had anticipated, too. Damn those noisy characters, they never shut up. *facepalms again*

[/completely uninteresting fanfiction writer rant.]

Ooops sorry.  Here have a Kaidan:

Hrmm...you do realize that the accepted length of a novel is set at 100K words, right?  So, basically, you've got the equivalent of 5 novels there.  Good job!  I know it took me about 6 months to write one novel length story.

They do like to scream at you, don't they? "No, don't write it that way...that's not what happened!  It went like this..." My characters liked to poke me awake at 5AM; "Hey, you awake yet?  Hey...*poke poke poke*"

Hoping to get to Supernova in Sydney this weekend to see Jennifer Hale and Tricia Helfer - might just be able to get some hints - fingers crossed.

Hoping for a better ending but wouldn't mind some DLC if it includes Kaidan.

It makes no sense that Mark Meer says he was working on ECDLC and Jennifer Hale not to be. So I think it's safe to assume you get one and you get the other. If not, then my brain would be blown.

Anyway, if any of you guys know any artists or if you're an artists that would be willing to contribute some art or do some art commissions for our #KaidansWaiting binders that we're sending to BioWare and Sbarge, please send me a message. Also, I'm throwing this out there, please don't feel obligated to donate but if you could, it would be great appreciated. A Chipin has been set up to help us pay for these to be printed and mailed out. So if you can help, it would be super, super appreciated: http://clarissant.ch.../kaidanswaiting

Both are confirmed to work in studios, but were they recording Starkid or Shep is another question.

Also - Hale is involved in so many projects, like Fem!Trooper in SWtoR (and also Satele Shan, if I'm not mistaken), so - there are a lot of things for her to work on, and most of them are "classified", I guess.

Uh, I just thought I'd drop into say that I posted here about two weeks ago about a fic I was going to write. A M!Shepley, F!Shenko fic with two Shepards running in tandom. I have chapter one of the fic on FF.net, it hasn't got any mention of Kaidan in it so far, but he's going to be one of the four leads (as the pairings suggest) and will make a major appearance in Chapter 2.

Here's thelink if anyone is interested in reading it.

I should have anonymous reviews availible. Would appreciate any criticism and feed back you could provide.

Has that been confirmed, last I knew it was a rumor that they co-voice Star-brat.   I know Mr Meer does many other voices for ME as well.   I wouldn't mind a total re-write of the Star-brat convo (rather it be deleted but...) than keep it the horrible illogical mess it is now.

Many of us want a LI DLC... hopefully we'll get one.

-not only do you do the Rachni mission first before Tuchanka: Turian Platoon to get more Kaidan banter about Ash, but save the Turian Platoon mission AFTER Priority: Rannoch.

I'm lost here. How can one do platoon after rannoch, if it's citadel that triggers rannoch and further part of plot...no? Or is it possible do do platoon+bomb AFTER genophage(priority:tuchanka) and then citadel and rannoch? I thought platoon expires with citadel. Or something expires... Now I got only Priority:tuchanka (genophage) and Turian platoon on my log.

Someone else posted this but it's how I do it to maximize my Kaidain missions:

...I did the Rachni without Kaidan this time through - first time through I left it for when he was with me and he did not have much to say. So I did Rachni, every single side questy thing before Tuchanka, then I did the genophage cure, then citadel, then I had Kaidan with me for the platoon and bomb missions. Take him with anyone non-Garrus and you get some great Kaidan lines. But if you have Garrus, Kaidan is much more silent...

I'm going to save New Eden until after I get Kaidan next time as well.  That does mean I get Javik later than I normally do though.

Edit: Drat ToP... Hold on.   Doodles you still owe us one for lying!
