I could kick myself, I'm getting all excited, despite the fact that I spent the last 3 months having absolutely zero faith or expectations that the EC would fix anything.  I'm reading all the forum posts instead of working, and I know we're going to be talking about it all weekend...and I know there's a 95% chance I'm still going to be disappointed.  I KNOW IT.  Yet here I am...

Somehow I doubt that even if it IS wonderful, this is going to be in the EC - but it can be here!

Best thing about EC starting just before Cerberus base? yeah, my mind goes straight to the gutter... even if EC sucks, there's the fun of replaying That Scene

And somebody made a rude remark about Ashley on the last page or two of this thread.  

I prefer it when we're all happy friends who understand that the choice on Virmire does not necessarily mean that we hate the character we leave behind, but everyone is entitled to their opinions, even if they're rude.  

I would prefer seeing both FemShep and Kaidan in the promo pic, but Bioware doesn't care what I want.  So whatever.

Wow. Didn't know the Kaidan thread turned into an Ashley bashing thread. Xenophobic Cow? C'mon Kaidan fans. I thought the VS stood united.

I think that comment was a joke you took out of context I Like To Doodle. We don't bash Kaidan in the Ashley thread. We wish Ash had treatment similar to Kaidan's in ME3. We like him and appreciate what he did get.

Нou know....I'm scared. Strange thing, I was waiting for EC,hoping for it, and I even chanced to time my recent 1-2-3 playthrough so that I don't need to hang with that pre-cerberus save till september....

But 3 months of headcanoning, bit by bit, out of what remained from ending.... It'll be a big surprise if anything of that remains after their clarifications. Sorry for sounding pissimistic. But feels like headcanons are in danger. At least those which tried hard to respect lore and codex. Hell, we were holding this universe for 3 months from being a black devastated plot hole before they finally managed to make up their opinions about what exactly happened to whom...

May sound crazy a bit, sorry. Wrong mood must be. Not optimistic. At all..

Yeah, noticed that as well... can't say that I'm surprised, since BW has always used Ashley in the marketing for Mass Effect (as they say, 'Sex sells'....), but it's still rather stupid I think, since both characters should be considered equal in terms of their function in the ME story (both being the VS character, I mean).

So since it was me who got quoted up top, I'll just say sorry for the Kaidan joke. It was just a little joke for the Ash forum. If I could save them both on Virmire, I totally would. We VSmancers should stick together.

Plus Sbarge is pretty great on Once Upon a Time.

I'm really not either. I want to be. Seriously I do. Got a week to get in the right head space though. If you go red and get the end end scene, they could always have the crash planet be nearby and Shep go get everyone right?

I am cautiously looking forward to the EC.  Making the ending make some kind of sense will be a step towards making me feel a bit better.  However, I am not holding out any hope for any sort of further explanation of the "Shep breathing" scene or any reunion between Shep and squadmates.  My guess is they want to leave that ambiguous and that the breathing scene was them throwing some fans a bone (so we can head-canon away).  I hope that the EC will do a much better job of connecting the ending to the rest of the game (and series for that matter) and bring some form of closure for my ME squadmates. 

Unfortuantely, even if the EC was everything I ever hoped for (which since the space magic still exists, it won't be) the damage is done.  I'm not saying I'll never play another Bioware game or anything like that.  But, I don't have the same trust that I did before.  I won't be pre-ordering any games sight unseen.  I'll wait and see what other players are saying and then go from there. 

I know - I'm totally being a downer about this!

You're not being a downer.  I totally get where you're coming from.  I'm not really expecting much out of the EC either.  And even if it miraculously blows me away, like you said--the damage has already been done.  No more preordering for me.

Anyway yeah I'm getting nervous for the EC now. If it doesn't address the issues that most of us have, especially if the Shepard 'alive' ending doesn't get anything added to it, then I'll just get even more depressed. 

I'm hoping for what was originally taken from us, the extended dialogue with Anderson, the investigation opitions to get information from the starchild. I hate the ending still and adding scenes to it won't let me stomach it better. But just a little more explaination and a some more Kaidan and I'll be content. I hope the epilogue is good, I can see it going either way, good, or coming off very pretentious. DA:O had a great epilogue.
