[Kaidan Fan]

I'm playing through ME1 atm and I just finished making that cure for the doctor on Noveria and that asari chick that is there comes barging in with those geth and Kaidan says "What the hell?" 

It always makes me laugh, I don't know why, but it does...every. single. time.

Just thought I would share

Never seen this one, as I always take care of Fist myself and then go to Wrex.. 8)

And among the rest Citadel ME parts I love c-sec task dialogue when you have Ash, one about shooting someone it it makes her feel better. And I adore his relay-monument lines. He could feel dormant relay, huh?

Don't rub more salt and pepper into that wound...the way they treat Kaidan is just ugly. I wonder how many years will pass before they FIANLY make any kind of official goods with him... or at least let him use barrier in cuts.

It's funny. He's one of the two character whose status as a biotic was really character defining ... but the only (?) one who never got a cutscene.

On the same level, I always wondered why Shepard if a biotic never appeared as one in cutscenes. Some dialogs acknowledge her/him as a biotic. A little glowing or a throw instead of shooting with her/his pistols would be more accurate.

As for Kaidan, when he is attacked by Eva Core, a little barrier would have been nice.

Always makes me wonder : throughout the game, he is presented almost as a full biotic character, though he is a sentinel. The only thing that may brings up his tech knowledge is the fact he oversees the building of tower defenses on Horizon.
But I doubt the writers thought about that when they came up with the introduction of the VS in ME2.
Since he had Medecine and First Aid in ME1, I always imagined him as having a medic training before or at the beginning of his service in Alliance.
But the convo in hospital in ME3, where he seems a bit lost about what the doctors explained him about his condition and the fact he doesn't understand exactly the medical jargon about his implant makes me frown.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact everyone forgets about his tech knowledge ?

The thing at Huerta I could chalk up to him using small words for Shepard's sake. But he should understand basic medical terms and much more than that concerning his own L2 implant. He seemed the type.

But yeah, First Aid was only a gameplay mechanic, not actually part of his character. And they removed it from the game in ME2 and replaced it with Unity.

You get the scene of tech geekery with Tali about omnitools but is there anything else?

how is it that he goes from being hostile towards shepard then declearing his love for her an hour later I feel like ssomthing was missed...

You mean the Citadel Coup Scene correct?  I always took it as he, at least a perviously romanced Kaidan, still loves Shepard, but duty and protecting the Council were his job...You can still love a person, and be surprised or angry with their choices.  I think he's hostile with Shepard on the Citadel because he torn between wanting to believe Shepard and his duty to the Council.  I also believe Kaidan has had several years to come to terms with the idea that he loved Shepard.  While Shepard was dead for those two years he/she really didn't get a chance to think about where their relationship going or if he/she loved Kaidan.  Kaidan had the time to consider his feelings for Shepard.  So he knows how he feel about Shepard.  While it might seem out of the blue for Shepard it's not too much out of the blue for Kaidan.
Hopefully this helps make sense of it all.

In Huerta he's not trying to make Shep understand, he says literally "rattled is the only thing I understood from their techy talk" (sorry I don't remember the exact words).
And like you said, even if he wasn't familiar with tech stuff (which he should be since he has tech training), he is talking about his implant for Christ's sake ! He of all people knows how it works and the implication with beeing an L2 ><

The other thing that bothers me is Liara in Mars. "The Major has become very... capable".
Okay Liara, I like you a lot, but do you really need me to remember you the scary schoolgirl you were in Therum while I could already trust Kaidan either with a nuke bomb or leading salarians with the STG on Virmire ?
He always was capable. Liara has become more capable. Kaidan always was. He wasn't promoted first Staff Commander, then Major, just for his nice ass. Not just for it anyway xD
It really bothers me the way Kaidan is often appearing like a not-that-smart random private that Shepard brings along just for his good looks.
He is a reliable soldier and officer. Not a whiny little boy ><

I'm listening to it all the time recently, it just hell fits my pre-EC mood. Makes a lot of sense, when you put it together with our expectations and ME3-ending, huh? I even thought this song worth a thread (http://social.biowar.../index/12723287), but it drowned in a current threadstorm. Probably, will make a small banner sig with Kaidan and this quote...If I have time..

Talking of not-that-smart. His completely stupid comment about how EDI's platform scared him for a moment ... but not enough not to drool over her sexbot look? Seriously? That stupid platform almost killed him. Can't he drool over someone else? Like Dr. Michel? Miranda? Vega? I don't care as long as it's not EDI!

I'm afraid we've opened a can of worms.

ME1 Kaidan has some great moments!  You know, he'll kill someone if it'll make you feel better.
And he had a pretty sweet tan.

I tend to think that this isn't on purpose.  The role of the sentinel changed a lot from ME1 to ME2.  It started a support class, with Medicine and also powers to debuff enemies.  That shifted to more of a combat focus. Actually I guess there's still the support role evident in that powers are useful for setting off biotic or tech explosions.  Super handy.

Well he is a tech geek.  Is it really that surprising that he'd be checking out a fembot? Mind, he could have been a bit more tactful about blurting it out in front of his gf/bf.  But you know, whatever. <_<
