I'm so sad. No reunion for Shep. I think that I will consider "canon" all the wonderful stories that I have read on fanfiction.net.

Is anyone playing it on the PC? It would be great to see the Kaidan scenes uploaded in higher quality, I'm a console guy unfortunately so I can't do it.

I actually thought it wasn't that bad. I was a little sad that it still ended on the same scene as before, but at least we know what happened to the rest of the galaxy (baby krogan!) and that Kaidan will meet Shepard again.

Also, I believe that EDI/Geth can be rebuilt if necessary. I mean, they were built once; they can be fixed.


edit: And here I thought they couldn't make me more sad about saying goodbye to Kaidan than they did the first time...

Just got home from work now and I am downloading the EC.
OMG I just can't wait to play !

I have been busy lately so haven't got time to get my last playthrough to the Cerberus base, will have to experience the EC with an old one, but no prob, since all my Shep are Kaidan lovers x'D

I will Fraps the whole thing and upload it on the Tube as soon as I can

I wonder if your EMS is too low, Kaidan dies (in case you take him to the beam run). Does anyone know? Before the EC, everyone said he could die during the run, so I was wondering if they showed it this time (like they planned on showing Liara and Garrus' death the first time, but decided not to)

Just finished the EC. For the most part I found it very enjoyable but of course it left me wanting more. Ordinarily I could just explain it away, saying that unresolved issues *coughcoughreuintingwithyourLIcoughcough* would be addressed in future DLC.  But I get the sinking feeling what we got in the EC is all we're gonna get.

Don't get me wrong - the extra LI dialogue and scenes I got by taking Kaidan with me to the beam was more than worth it (and had me crying again, thankyouverymuch BioWare). Even the epilogue was nicely done. But seriously - the EC would have exceeded all my expectations if a LI reunion was shown instead of hinted at. The ironic thing is that there's already a thread basically begging BioWare to come out with a "Reunion" DLC.

Think about this for a minute - there are people out there willing to give you their money if their Shepard can reunite with their love interest, and yet all indications point to no such thing happening.

I'm not getting the logic here. Did I miss a meeting?

thanks for that.. lovely scene, my one gripe with it is.. if they could put in a scene like this.. why not one freaking picture with shepard/kaidan/normandy crew reuniting if you chose the destroy option and had uber high ems...

I just replayed the ending picking synthesis this time. I cried. I think when I picked destroy I was so focused on what wasn't there so I didn't see the beauty of what was. It's incredibly cute when Kaidan hugs EDI, but I was thinking 'Joker won't like that' hehe But I think the loss of Shepard finally hit me when Kaidan placed his name on the wall. I know in main save he's alive and Kaidan did find him ect But I feel like I have to say goodbye in the sense that, this is the end for Shepard's story.

My Shepard died the first time I played ME3 (because EMS wasn't fixed), and I was so sad, now imagine if I actually have to watch them put up her name on the wall...not happening.

I felt the same way, as happy as I was to see Kaidan and Shepard finally say they love one another and knowing they'll be reunited one day it was bittersweet knowing that this really is the end for their story.  But it was such an amazing ride and I look forward to the future DLC with Kaidan, even if it's prior to the ending.  After all Raphael Sbarge went into two recording sessions recently so there must be a lot more coming.  Now I can play that DLC and feel happy about it.
Also seeing EDI and Kaidan hug makes me feel really guilty but I like to think that somehow they can revive her, after all if they can rebuild a mass relay then they should be able to bring back one AI.

I wish we could button skip the TIM and Starchild conversations. Listening to them drone on and on for 20 minutes is wasting my time. Might just have to youtube Synthesis/Control or do them another day.

But, on a happy note, the Kaidan scene made me squee. 

can't even shoot him anymore to take out my frustration.

Wait. How? Did you have a low EMS or...?

Yeah - I had all my saves on a USB stick that decided to wipe itself, so just rushed through a playthrough of ME3 to have something to play with when the DLC came out.  I'm rebuilding my Shep, so hopefully once I get to the end of ME3 again, things will be a bit better!

Just found this so he will be able to die that way but I don't think it would be nice to watch

Absolutely this. My choice has been and always will be 'destroy'. After asking all the questions and listening to StarBrat's pompous prattling (honestly, shouldn't that kid be in daycare?) I didn't even hesitate.

The other endings can be dressed up all you want but the fact remains that 'destroy' is still the only ending that gives you the breathing scene. And after 100+ hours of playing ME1, ME2 and ME3 I don't think a happy ending is too much to ask for, dammit!

This. I'll always pick the Destroy option now. I watched the different endings out of curiosity, but the Synthesis ending really frosted my cookies. I raged hard during the Synthesis ending because it seems like Commander Shepard and his/her LI can't ever get a break--especially the romanced VS. I played a FemShep, and I felt absolutely terrible for Kaidan because the love of his life died twice. He struggled to piece himself back together during the time Shepard was dead prior to the events of ME2, and now he has to do it all over again? Really? 

Still, I suppose I can handle bittersweet. I thought it was rather lovely that EDI comforted Kaidan in the Synthesis ending. EDI made it clear that she had a shot at different life because of Shepard. However, the selfish side of me was really angry that Joker and EDI could help build this new world whereas Kaidan's fears were made real. Plus, I couldn't get over Kaidan's statement during the goodbye scene before the final push: "I can't lose you again." 

Well, it's time to go shove my face into a bowl of ice cream. T^T
