Great, now I can't help but cling to the hope that Kaidan's parents (and SpacerShepard's mom, why not) just so HAPPENED to go away on holiday to some remote planet JUST before the Reapers attacked Earth.

...and that after Shepard kills the Reapers, they'll invite everyone to a celebratory barbeque and pool-party.

I think that's a great hope to cling to. I would love that:wizard:

Is it possible that the figure was already in the room and fired some kind of weapon UP through the window??  For example, it's Shepard escaping from the Normandy after it's been taken over by Cerberus thugs.

That's interesting except the position they're in appears as tho they've landed. Although, with the gun pointed up that way, it could be someone leaving instead of someone entering..

Things aren't really flying up and out though.  The bedclothes and glass would from the depressurization.  But damn that would be cool if someone went all ninja and did that while the Normandy was flying in space!

Edit: March, 2012, huh? Grrr..Pax, BW, come on.

Hey now!  :( Lol!

Give us something for the Kaidan fans. For the Kaidan part of the story. It seems he playing a big part in ME3, yet we gets nothing, nada. Even Vega got fresh screen shot. wtfh! (see, I can't even curse right I'm so twitterpated.)

Agreed.  We need the FemShep trailer now!!!

And well, some random Kaidan, because why not?

Maybe Kaidan tipped them off somehow, after hearing about the destroyed relay?  Maybe he gave his parents a surprise vacation, all expense paid, as long as they got out fast. How much do you think Spectres make anyway?  Shepard banked a few million even while chasing Saren.  :P

I don't think even a vacation will do them much good when the whole galaxy is falling to pieces.

And only because I wanted to post more Kaidan:

Ughh, windows and other transparent details on military ship. Which is supposedly closed with armour during the space fights - except space fights haven't got a habit to alarm before the start. Had I said already that Cerberus s... is really bad with design?

"Kaidan, be a man and reinforce our little love nest. Pull, please, some contacts from Alliance - I want that goddamned windows which will go to hell at first sudden strike substituted with normal armour and all desks connected with ladders because at any loss of primary power the crew will be forced to crawl through vents".

Oh, and BTW, Aria's line always make me giggle: "You should find a nice young man to keep you warm". What she's supposed to say in ME3, "Interesting. I said "nice young man" and you find yourself a SpeCTRe"?

Most people think it's Kai Leng/someone else from Cerberus trying to assassinate Shep on the Normandy.

This is Shepard. >_>

This happens after doing Jack's loyalty quest. Unless you have full paragon or renegade, you will have to choose one of them, losing the loyalty of the other. Don't forget that maxing out your main class skill will give super bonuses to paragon and renegade scores. Having that maxed out usually helps Shep maintain loyalty of both. Though, I tend to save Jack's loyalty quest until later anyway.

Maybe I'm just contrary, but I almost always find something to like about a character-- especially if someone says they don't like them. I think Bioware is a rare company because they write complicated characters. Characters that will BAIT you into forming an opinion at first, only to have to think about it and ammend that opinion the more you play the game. People who say Ashley is racist have at ONE point shut their ears and put tinfoil hats on their heads, ignoring Ashley's bravery alongside the salarians, and her ****slapping of the racist protest leader in the citadel. Ash's last words with the salarians if they all die: "Human or aliens, we're all just animals" is so honest and beautiful in a brutal way.

If you read her words in the entire game, she's never racist, because her opinions about other races are never from a basis of superiority, malice, or disdain. It's like what goes on with us right now when we form ties with a nation we're unfamiliar with-- is it really a lasting bond, or will they throw you to the wolves when they're in danger?

I don't know what opinion most form of Miranda other than the easiest and most lazy assumptions. But then I notice that her eyes flicker with softness and sympathy when she thinks no one is looking-- the almost motherly look she gives Shepard in the infirmary-- the mother-hen mode she has with Oriana-- her misguided attempt to help Jacob, etc.

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I also know that that same laziness and knee-jerk simplicity is what keeps people from seeing how cool and layered (and badass) Kaidan is, so I try to look deeper.

Hear, hear!

She says that!? I don't know if I've ever gotten that response. I like your idea of what she should say in ME3. Even my Shep would beam with pride with Kaidan by her side. :D

I don't think you get the Aria line as actual dialog, but it's something she says as you leave her area after talking with her

and why would she tell my mShep to find a nice girl ... can't she feel his frustration ... someone who has been around so long should know better, especially since my Shepard would be a lot more tense post-Horizon <_<

It's not Kaidan as why would he enter the Normandy that way, also Shepard and Kaidan are on the same side, more likely someone entering the Normandy  to kill someone or to find something important.

Totally off-topic for the Kaidan thread, but it's not that often that I find a situation I know the answer to!  Or at least what worked for me.  I've navigated this treacherous situation before without being either full paragon or full renegade.  What I do is take Jack on Miranda's loyalty mission and Miranda on Jack's.  While I'm there, I pick all paragon responses for both missions.

My very first playthrough, I sided with Jack and ended up losing Miranda.  But since I started this method, I've never failed to make them both see reason, full paragon or not.

And now that I've de-lurked, I have a question.  From what I've seen so far, Kaidan looks a little rougher than he did in ME1 or ME2.  And apparently they're bulking him up a bit?  I don't have a problem with it.  The concept art I saw (I think it's concept art anyway) in armor makes him a look a little older and more weathered than before.  I'm probably older than the average gamer myself, so to me it's pretty sexy.  What do you all think of a more mature Kaidan with (apparently) a sharper edge to him?

If you side with jack, you can try to raise your paragon meter and go back and talk to Miranda. But if you side with Miranda, jack wont talk to you afterwards. Either way, you can get their loyalty back.

Defintely sexy. I liked that he looked slightly older in ME2 as well. Yum!! I cannot wait to meet him on my first playthrough of ME3. I'm sure my heart will be pounding in my chest in anticipation of how it will go.

This. Kaidan with salt and pepper hair, that scar below his lip...Tired eyes and a few more wrinkles so my Shep can ask him how he's doing and be there to "comfort" ;) him.

Don't really like the bulking up, but ehh, as long as he doesn't look like Sheploo.

I seriously don't know if it's Kaidan, or not. It was the similarities in the basic armor and body build that made me suspicious. Although, FireEye pointed out that the helmet looked like a Cerberus one.

As far as Shep and Kaidan being on same side: they weren't on the same side during Horizon. We don't know how Shepard is going to be perceived in the beginning of ME3. Shepard could very easily be seen in the same light as Saren. A dangerous rogue Spectre that has killed 300k batarians and destroyed an entire star system. Because of the "mythical" Reapers?

This pic has no context whatsoever. Kaidan is a Spectre now, and I could easily see him story wise being sent to take down/bring in Shepard. All this b4 he relly knows the facts about it. He wasn't happy w/ Shepard at the end of Horiszon. I can't see him being okay with everything that has transpired since Horizon.

Regardless of how he feels abt. Shepard, at the end of the day if the higher ups tell him to make sure Shepard gets back for trial...he's gonna do it.  Mind you, he wouldn't need to do that with my Shperad, but does he know that?

Too many variables on possible storyline. We don't know how the wider audience really feels abt.  what Shepard has been doing, especially in Arrival. Is Shepard perceived as murderous and xenophobic. Downright crazy?  Even with the trial; is it a show trial? Or, are the Alliance really serious? Is it an intitial hearing, or a downright court martial....or civilian court?

Some have said that they don't think the Alliance and humanity in general really cares abt. Arrival. I think they would care, Very much.  Shepard looks to have ditched the Alliance for a known terrorist group, then ends up w/ the Arrival destruction. I can't see how Shepard wouldn't be seen as a dangerous threat.

The body armor looks like N7 armor. The helmet doesn't. I wish I could zoom in to it and clean up the noise, but that's way above my paygrade.

Kaidan bringing Shepard in for the trial seems like a plausible situation. He felt betrayed by Shepard's involvement with Cerberus. For all we know, Kaidan could have been ordered by to bring Shep in by any means necessary, but who knows for sure?  As a Spectre he doesn't answer to the Council, but being officially declared dead, does that mean Shepard's no longer an Alliance soldier? Who is putting him on trial?

I like the way you think.
I wish I could clear the pic up too, but I can't even post pics on here without help, lol.
