pff - the EC writers were probably wringing their hands and cackling with glee knowing we would lose it at that scene. I know I did - Kaidan's face broke my heart in 137 places.  Posted Image

Makes me wonder - is sadism a requirement for employment at BW or does one acquire it from on-the-job experience? Posted Image

Ugh, so glad. Sooo glad. The last scene - I love you - as his face becomes contorted in pain...ugh...it was just fantastic.

I believe so... look at the endings to their other games lol.
Guess I should know by now that while touching throughout the games, any romance written by bioware is doomed at the end heh.

Why does everything HAVE to be doom and gloom people. I know.. happy endings are so cliche but hell... so is a tear jerking (nausea inducing) ending / epilogue in like... every game... you make. Yeah.. I wanted one reunion shot. /sniffles.

I thought the original "goodbye" scene was exactly as it should be, very touching and romantic, but exactly in the right tone.

About the added EC content, I've got to say I was happy to see Alenko again, especially since it looked so stupid and out of place having him and Garrus staying behind in that beam valley, but I felt like "oh no, not again, don't tell me i'll save your (nice) ass again??"). I mean Alenko is a fighter, he knows how to take care of himself, so having him and Garrus decimated by a Mako felt weird and a bit forced down to us. Same thing about Shepard in the fury of the battle taking the time to call the cavalry to pick up her personal squad. Shepard would put her job before her personal interests.

So on my first play, I chose the first option but then regretted it cause for the very first time, Alenko did sound and look whiny - and those crying eyes, come on, with his eyebrows, he really looked like Puss-In-Boots from Shrek.

I'm glad there is another option which i think fits more properly their military status and is consistent with Alenko's character, so next time, i'll just tell him that he's in no condition to follow me (hopefully no Puss'In-Boots attitude this time, but huh, I don't remember).

On the other hand, I really enjoyed the memorial scene, I thought it was really touching, not cheesy.

I know, right?  I sat there the whole time "...really?  Right there in the middle of battle, huh?"  See, BW, this is the kinda corner you wrote yourselves into on this one.  The rest worked perfectly, but this thing...not so much.  Plus Normandy has FRICKEN THANIX CANNONS!  Why in all that is holy, don't they EVER use them after ME2?!  Reapers should be falling right and left!  We took out the Collector's ship in TWO SHOTS.

Glad i'm not the only one not willing to sacrifice realism for the sake of extra Alenko loving Posted Image
Yeah, there are probably a million absurd things in here, but you know, since you have to comply with a StarBrat, there's a lot you have to accept as it is.

But, it's a good thing they tried to fill that blank. I would probably have preferred Alenko and Garrus just staying there on the battlefield ans say something like "Don't worry about us, we'll be fine". I really liked the scene on Mars for instance where Alenko and Liara get slammed by the shuttle and then Shepard goes to see if Alenko is alright and he makes this gesture "It's OK, i'm alright, don't bother".

Haha, that was my reaction to the Normandy suddenly swooping in, "Uhm... alright?" I liked the moment, but the Normandy flying in like that was absurd. If they really needed to be flown out, maybe one of those shuttles would've been more appropriate, and it should've taken other injured soldiers. Like a medic shuttle pulling out the wounded.

edit: At the very least, they could've attempted shooting at Harbinger. Now that I think about it, why wasn't Harbinger just shooting at the Normandy? It was just hovering there.

Ah ah, yes, plus Joker goes "we're taking heavy fire here", and then 1 second later, tada, here comes the classiest cab of the Galaxy.

Ah, just tried the "you're in no condition..." option, and here goes cheesy Puss-In-Boots still, too bad...

Well, there's the "You'll just slow me down" option.
S : You're in no condition to keep fighting. Get to the med bay.
K : I'm with you til the end.
S : That's an order, Major.
K : Puss-In-Boots look.

Suits me better. Plus having Shepard call Kaidan "Major" is always enjoyable.

Thank you, Mimitochan! :)

Of all the other characters in that scene, Kaidan has the most devastated face. And honestly, I thought it was cute that Shepard said she/he loves him forever and be said it back. He looks...so unlike his composed and calm self, which is what makes it even more awesome. Heartbreaking, but awesome.

I liked the extra "I love you" Scene. I feel it fits the femshep romance, not so much the mshep one though. I dunno, Kaidan just doesn't seem the kinda guy to jump into any relationship and I don't care if it's almost the end of their lives, femshep has been with/in love with him far longer than maleshep. So of course he'd exprese that to her in their possible last moments.

I picked synthesis this time. The star child made it seem better and more viable this time around. I would have loved a scene after with my LI but I went into ME3 thinking I wouldn't get it. I figured Shepard would probably die at the end of the trilogy. I know Kaidan didn't want to lose me, not again but picking destroy comes at what cost? Oh I get to be with Kaidan but everything else is all messed up. I love the geth and EDI, why should joker, who has never been involved with anyone, have his love taken from him? Just so Kaidan and I could be happy? That's not nice and not something my shepard would do. If there was a chance for a FAR better universe with the collective knowledge of the previous civilizations for everyone to live and thrive in, my shep would take it at any cost.

I'm more pleased with the endings by far. They cleared up the random "why are they fleeing" and also BABY KROGAN OMG THAT MADE THE ENDING THEY WERE SO ADORABLE.

I'll have to make a comparison between all LI faces to put my Kaidan fandom at rest. If all characters have more or less the same lines, and if the animation is the same, then it'll be easier to put up with this. I watched an Ashley evac on Youtube, and also a Liara one I think. It's true that I don't remember their expressions being so exagerated. I think the scene fits rather well with Liara's sensitive character. From what I know of Ashley's character, a strong-willed woman but with controled emotions, I thought it would be OK, but only an Ashley fan could confirm. Well, for Kaidan, as I said, not so much, it kinds of break the character for me - but I'll admit I like my men manly Posted Image

Yes, I understand that many Kaidan fans may find this cute, but, what can I say, what I love about Kaidan's character is that he's Shepard's "strength and soft place to land". Somebody he/she can rely on, that is always quietly there for Shep, without ever demanding anything in return. As a military, he would always look to lighten Shepard's burden to let him/her accomplish what Shep's got to do. Also, what I love about the Shenko relationship, is all the unsaid things, the held back feelings because of their military status and because of the war obviously.

I won't lie, I was extatic about the love scenes, the date on the Citadel, etc., but I feel that most of the time, it's better to let some things hidden. For instance, I though the "sex scene" in ME1 was way better than in ME3 which felt a bit more ah... anatomic ;) (plus FemShep's horrible underwear and the violins but well). But, I did enjoy the wake-up scene nonetheless.

So just finished the Destroy ending with High EMS. I loved it. LOVED it. I really liked the epilogue scenes that followed too. Definitely replaying to see the other endings. :) Baby Krogans! ;A; My heart can't take the cuteness!

The new Kaidan scenes made me cry like you wouldn't believe. Heart wrenching and pawing at the screen going "It will be okay, love! I will be with you! If not this lifetime then the next!" /kleenex

And I know it's been said, but just saying again, do not shoot starchild unless you are REALLY curious.

Really enjoyed the dlc. :) Can't say that enough.

You know, that's what so interesting about this game, everybody gets to have a little satisfaction.
To me, Shepard's always been a humanity hero, so even if I quite liked EDI (apart from the oversized boobs), even though I played Cupidon for Joker and her, even though I loved Legion's character and made peace between the Quarians and the geth, Destroy seemed like the most obvious choice. Destroy is what Shepard as a character has been fighting for from the beginning of the series. But as a player, like yourself, you can actually choose otherwise, so that's nice.

I thought the evac scene was too melodramatic and out of place, but then, I thought Krogan babies were way too cheesy too Posted Image

See I wouldn't call her humanities hero. Mass Effect 3 goes to show how far from that she was. (or he I guess) Shepard, not anyone else, brought all the races together to finally defeat the Reapers. Shepard wasn't just the hero of humanity. Shepard was the hero to the Galaxy. Without Shepard, everyone and everything would have been destroyed. All of it. There wouldn't have been any fight to join. It all would have failed when soveriegn attacked. But Shepard helped. Shepard brought all the races together for one final push. And as Javik mentions prior to the beam run in the last goodbyes, Shepard did what those in his cycle couldn't. Shepard united the races.

So I didn't pick destroy this time around because I wanted a better future for the galaxy. My Shep didn't just work her ass off to get everyone to fight together for it to be left in it's sorry state. Yah, there weren't any more Reapers but as the SC said, the cycle of synthetics and organics would continue. Eventually, all that fighting against the reapers would be for naught. Eventually, synthetics will and do reach a singularity where organics are not needed. So why not now? Why not merge them? Sure, SPACE MAGIC, but in the end life would be better!

At least that's my outlook on it.

Welp, I finally finished.

I loved the changes. I really wish it had been that way from the start.
Everything doesn't feel as hopeless as it did before.
I chose destroy on this Shep.. it just fits her too well.. what she fought for from the start.
That being said I do feel bad about EDI and the geth :((

The added memorial wall was awesome as well as the extra LI scene. Can't believe I am still crying over a game I have played for months now lol. As I was watching the breath scene I was still thinking.. you know even a search light moving in the background would have made that bit better for me.

For those of you that don't want to d/l it or play again... you may like it. It feels different playing it over watching it... because its "your" experience. More of a connection.

All that being said... gosh I wish they would make a post end dlc. I mean, if they plan on somehow making an ME4 is could be a lead in.. right? *hopeful thinking*

EDIT: aww crap ToP - someone post a piccy for me please!
