All that being said, Bioware lost some trust with me. I do not understand why all of this ending stuff wasn't included in the original game. Their answers of "we didn't know you wanted it" are mind boggling, since their own comments were on closure and knowing what happens to our people. And I still feel like I spend most of ME 3 building up my EMS only to have it not really matter in the end. Also, the whole fact that I had to play multi-player to get enough EMS for the end scene still bursn me big time. I will not download DLC or buy new games without hearing what actual players (like you guys) thought about it. Pre-ordering is off the table.

Required EMS for the "breathing scene" has been dropped to 3100, so if you import and do all the side missions you shouldn't have a problem getting it (so I've read, I haven't made it through my import yet).

But yeah, although I'm happy (for the most part) with the EC, I don't know why a lot of it wasn't included in the first place.

EDI is "flashed back" to instead of Joker as you shoot the tube, which is WAYY more fitting

I had....Thane..0_o Which surprised me a lot (never romanced, never talked much, but I thought it's because I pick destroy so that Joker's kinda hates me and everyone has it this way).

Out of three games, I got Thane twice. I didn't think anything of it for one of the playthroughs, but thought this was especially odd on the game where Shepard never spoke to Thane at all, not even hospital deathbed scene. (Wanted to see Kirrahe's cameo with Kai Leng and after Citadel coup, went to see Thane at hospital, but the game acted like it was too late and moved on.)

For those of you that don't want to d/l it or play again... you may like it. It feels different playing it over watching it... because its "your" experience. More of a connection.

I agree. I was really glad I had three gals ready to go for checking out the EC. The endings really fit each of the characters. If I had replayed all the endings on my main character, I would have judged them based on how ill-fitting they were for my canon. I was blown away by the control ending for my pro-Cerberus gal. Her game was a mess RP-wise so it really felt like she was rising out of the ashes like a Phoenix. Jennifer Hale's voiceover made this feel like it was Shepard's story, one of empowerment, not just the galaxy's story. Y'know? I definitely dug it.

And as for the destroy ending, while I don't love being strong-armed into the self-sacrifice paths, I do appreciate that the LI is shown as hopeful instead of weeping all over again and I appreciate the twitters that say that the crew will find Shepard again. I like seeing that said flat out instead of the usual "depends on how you interpret it la la." It's nice to know that is absolutely their intention to let us believe that they'll find each other again. At least the last image of Kaidan's face is not sadness, but a corner smile. Thank you!

Saw the Tali ending it was sweet too! "Go to Rannoch; build yourself a home!" "...I *have* a home!"

I did the same thing but in reverse because my Garrusmance was my very first playthrough.  It was...holy god...there are no words.  And then the Kaidan one was just beyond heartbreaking ("Don't leave me behind again!" and the ****ing heartbreaking look he gives you).  So yeah.  My reaction to the EC:

I'm waiting for my husband to get around to playing the EC just for this.  I think he'll be misty eyed at the very least.  Something tells me I should let him play it alone.  I don't think I would have liked him standing behind me during such an emotional moment.  I know it's just a game but...I don't know.  There's just something about these characters. :crying:

That's awesome.  Control ending is still my favourite.  Everyone lives (ie. EDI) AND I can still head-canon Shep using the Citadel to reconstitute a new body (he can still leave a copy of his intelligence inside the computers).

Oh man. I was ok until Grunt :crying:

When I did the synth ending I got Thane in my flashbacks. It was so fitting. So perfect. It  immediately reminded me of his prayer for Shepard. Love his little smile.

@ Kaidan Fan: Can I use you destroy sig? It's *exactly* what I thought when I saw the other endings. I can't stand the Reapers somehow surviving, and I can't leave Kaidan again :crying:

All in all, the EC does provide an emotionally satisfying ending and it should have been like this at launch. It leaves, and creates, many other plot-holes, but no story is perfect.  I don't love the EC but I don't hate it either... it's there. No matter what they did in the EC, it couldn't erase the memories and pain of the stock endings. Even a total re-write couldn't erase the burned in memories.

I wanted an emotionally satisfying ending to ME3, I got one, not perfect no, but what in life is?

I'm still sad that this is the end of Shepard's story. But now he can go out like a hero.

Definitely agree, the sadness I've felt over the past few months should never have happened. But at least now the healing process can finally start to begin.

I feel better about the trilogy as a whole now, but the fact that it is over makes me sad :crying:

I will probably get the DLC but I would have loved post ME3 stuff but it's kinda impossible due to the endings, I want more Kaidan!!

You mean Kaidan is NOT unique?? You totally ruined it for me Posted Image but that's OK, i can live with that, Cortez's cool.
Well, let's just add this to a long list of glitches - mind you, it could have been worse, with eyeballs coming out of the skull or something. Do you think they will patch the EC? Posted Image

They may for some small glitches. I think the Rachni slide doesn't show up to anyone so they may want to fix that bug

I don't think it's a bug. I think it was just a facial expression given to the humans (although I don't know about Ash). And I thought it was damn cute/utterly heart breaking. It made me think that the LI wasn't ready to put that name plate up. And it turned out I was right :)

Well, neither Ashley nor Liara have that glance... Maybe it's a MALE human thing then Posted Image

Yeah it's quite strange. I hated the original endings and was very much looking forward to the EC. I was actively playing MP several times a week to permanently increase my EMS to be ready when the EC came out. Now that it's out and I'm satisfied with the closure and with the added Kaidan interactions, it feels very final and definitely very bittersweet. I don't feel compelled to start another ME playthrough and I don't feel up for MP either. Like maybe it's time to start moving on from the ME universe? (Sad as that sounds). I hope the DLC that comes out later will be interesting enough to draw me back in.

Although I will say that the lack of an official "reunion" still bothers me even if it's implied. I'm definitely looking into getting 3DS Max now and seeing how much I remember about how to use it. I know we have a couple of people here who do really good renders but couldn't hurt to have more right? ;)

I too am sad it's over.  :crying:   "All good things must come to an end." is little solace.

I too will miss my Shepard and Kaidan, Steve, Tali, Garrus, EDI, Joker, Dr Chakwas, Liara, Ken & Gabby, Samara, Wrex, Grunt, James, Javik, Adams, Samantha, Jacob, Zhaeed, Hackett, and Jack.

And those I lost:  Legion, Mordin, Thane, Anderson, and Miranda

Even if there is a post-ending Mass Effect game, it'll likely not include out crew or just as a cameo.

Yeah, I didn't get anything about rachni. Also, Thane appears in flashbacks on Destroy and Control I think just before Kaidan, and I don't see why - I had Joker before the EC.

Also, I don't know why I don't have any slides about Miranda nor Jack on Destroy. Makes me wonder if something's not glitchy about the formulas used to display this.

So do you guys think with the amended endings that the Normandy crashed after exiting a relay on a charted planet or did it get thrown off course mid way and came through an unactivated one or flung out of the jump to a a complete unknown.

Actually I cant for the life of me remember if you see the Normnady go through a relay or if Joker is just going faster than light. So my quesiotn maybe completety stupid :(

@Kunari801 & VintageUtti, it's been one hell of a journey!

Sure, just right click it and copy then paste it in your sig.  I snuck it off one of the other people in the forum I saw using it.  I don't even remember who now

Lol, playing in front of your kids was brave.  My husband stumbled in the room a time or two, only for me to be like "OMFG GET OUT OF HERE!"  He thinks I'm a nutter but I'm sure he'll understand once he plays through it on his Talimance.
