No, I actually thought that you might be from Eastern Europe, I know Bulgarian people (not that Bulgaria is the same as Russia of course) but well, there are some similarities in the way the sentences are built, the expressions. So no, I didn't think you were French, just giving a hint at the fact that I was.

Emotions trump logic.   Yes it's weak and opens the "why didn't Harby shoot the Normandy?" but it's an emotional moment between Shepard and Kaidan so logic be damned:  I LOVE THAT SCENE.

Hmmm sauf erreur le Canon Shep c'est celui de la version officielle, donc opposé au Headcanon (d'une personne/joueur/fan), qui lui est celui imaginé par cette personne.

Le canon, en français, a une connotation religieuse (je crois que c'est comme ça qu'on appelle le déroulement classique et officiel de la messe).

Edit : puisque'on parlait de Kotor precédemment, le personnage de Revan est dans le canon officiel Star Wars un homme côté lumineux qui a romancé Bastila. Bien que le joueur pouvait faire bien différemment.

In French, "canon" has a religious meaning (I think the word is used to describe the christian mass).

We talked earlier about Kotor : Canon Revan in Star Wars lore is a man, light side, and in love with Bastila, though you could something totally different as a player in the video game.

Headcanoning is filling the blanks yourself, imagining what is not being actually told.

That's how I understand those words.

You know, I'm actually really glad they have Joker that redeeming moment.  He was always one of my favorites so I'm glad he won't go down as one of the most hated video game characters of all time.

Edit:  I feel like that might have been a slightly innapropriate response.  It was very sad.  Yes. 

I know this is 21 hours old.. but i'm playing catch up.  Haven't been feeling well and have had some bad rl drama going on.  I still haven't been able to play the EC, but have watched various youtube clips... and it does make the game/ending more hopeful with a bit of closure.  Could they have done better? Of course... they could have ordered things better and a bunch of other stuff, but it is better than nothing and the original.  I do wish they included all the crew flashbacks.

I've lost complete trust and faith in them and loathe Hudson (he def put is ego before all else.) Will I buy sp dlc? Yes but only after peer review and as others have said, probably no more preorders.  

Side note-  (and hopefull not tmi) I almost blew a snot bubble after catching the edit, I really needed a chuckle, thanks Txmn

You're correct on both canon and headcanon.

But when someone says 'My Canon Shep' they mean that out of multiple Shepards they've played, this is the one they consider to be their 'True Shep.' 

Let us say that I have 5 Shepards. Shepard #1, I always play first. She romanced Kaidan and did other things. The other 4 were experiements. I wanted to see how the game looked if I did different things from the first Shepard. Then Shepard #1 is "My Canon Shep" and the other 4 are experiments.

It's the difference between "The/Le Canon Shep" (official shep) and "My/Mon Canon Shep" (my true shep). Indicatif et possesif right?

For Shep's part such definition fails (if we talk about 1-2 especially). There simply no such thing as predefined by someone else Shepard. Motives, feelings, choices are player-side (as much as videogame can allow this) Codex does not define Shep ( only chosen background presets are shown). No canons and codex may tell you whom to love or whom to hate or what to do. Untill ME3 comes 8P

I'm 1\\2 ukrainian also, so that's close enough. There might be similarities, native languages (bulgarian, russian) are both belong to same group, and follow close patterns.

And to add some more linguistic ontopic to my post - I've already mentioned about month ago here, that Mr. Alenko has absolutely typical ukranian surname, that exists in a country, and his name also has ukrainian\\turk origins (and can be found as a surname around modern Ukraine as well, but not as first name). Not that I mean that he's a 100% ukrainian, but hу did have some ancestors from Eastern Europe, no doubt. 8P

Eheh, now THAT's an interesting topic.
Yeah, I read that Alenko was Ukranian, and Kaidan is Japanese.
But to me, I don't know why, Alenko immediately stroke me as being mainly latin-american! Even Sbarge's voice acting sounds this way, actually that's the kind of accent my French ears imagine for a latin-american born in North America! I mean, yeah, not a 100% latino, probably mixed origins, but still.

So that's what so funny and really, huh, magical about Major Alenko, is that everybody sees something different in him, but ALWAYS hot Really, whoever designed him, gave him Sbarge's voice, and that great character writing deserves some kind of medal for creating such a perfect combo, that appeals to so many different types of persons, men and women alike! It's somewhat creepy actually .

I read very often that people thought he was definitely Asian, and when I see pictures of actors people would imagine him after, they often look totally white caucasian and so on... He's handsome enough that people can project any fantasies in him. 

As for me, I'm half Asian, half French, so maybe it seemed unconciously fit that I would imagine him as someone even more "exotic" than I, and of course, with mixed origins.

PS: plus he's very dark haired and with no hair whatsoever on the whole body, so that really narrows the ethnic possibilites  so yeah, definitely latino
