Kaidan and Gar got the best LI scenes/dialogue out of the entire game, in my opinion. It's close to who I think gets the Best of Show Award

I was really surprised at the anti clamaticness feeling Liara and Tali's goodbye scenes gave me. I expected a lot more than what I saw them get :|

I think that the goodbye scenes for Tali were a little less emotional because you can't see her face. I'm not trying to be mean, but when you can't see their facial expressions, it is harder to see their pain (for example, nothing makes me more...heartbroken than Kaidan almost crying or with those puppy eyes saying "don't leave me behind"..)

I like Garrus romance, but I still can't see him other than Shepard's best friend (even if one of my FemSheps has him as her LI).  
Of all the romances, Kaidan's is the one that fits well with the storyline, especially with Cerberus and all.

I haven't posted here in forever. I feel kind of guilty. But the EC restored my faith in ME a little. So here I am again! Might I say Kaidan's last moment with Shepard made my eyes water.. and the memorial wall moment made me cry my eyes out. It hurts so damn much seeing him alone. ;(

 Thank you for posting that, really great fan fic. That kind of thing, which shows how pained both Shepard and Kaidan have been over the years, really solidifies their relationship and makes it even that more special.

Yeah, as a faithful ME1 Kaidan lover, Kaidan actually declares A LOT to FemShep. I don't know much about FemSheps who didn't choose him from ME1, i know they can still romance him from ME3 (but quite frankly, I couldn't care less, cause you know, it's their loss if they were blind enough to pass a Kaidan opportunity  ). 

I thought that mSheps did get the "I've always loved you through all these years" line, cause I thought it would make sense since he was suppose to have refrained from ME1.

But to me, yeah, that extra ILY is really out of line.

Mine too.Proabaly, your Garrus explained to you, why on earth did HE need to "evacnaow" along with Kaidan? I mean he did not look hurt. And there were 2 troopers that could make sure Major gets to the medbay. Hell out of Vakarian's character I'd say..

I agree. I thought Garrus follow her whereever Shepard goes... or maybe he knows how to consol Kaidan.

Yeah, I thought it was weird too, I studied Japanese and well, read a lot of manga, and never encountered Kaidan as a first name. But I just took it for granted and never thought of it.

Well, to be honest, I think whoever came up with the name just tried to create something:
1. exotic (suggesting multi racial and also firing imagination)
2. that sounded good and looked good written - cause yeah "Kaidan Alenko", it's almost poetry, right?
So, yeah, Kaidan sounds Asian of some sort (probably pure imagination from the writer who knew about the Japanese horror series but thought it sounded good anyway), Alenko, Eastern European to most people, he's dark skinned and haired so could be, well, almost anything actually out of Swedish, he lives in Vancouver and he's got Sbarge's voice (I'm not very good with American accents, but yeah, it's probably NY Irish).

But, you know, when I see someone with name of ukranianturkic origin and pure ukrainian surname - last thing that comes on my mind is anything latin-american. <-)

This is a common feature in space opera fiction in my opinion. Most of the time, you've got a crew with multiple ethnicities, suggesting that nations with the most advanced space knowledge got to work together for the next frontier. So yeah, there's always an American, and a Russian, plus other more "exotic" nationalities, you know for the sake of it. So, I didn't heistate too long about who Alenko was, I just thought he was a space guy, with mixed origins, and my fantasy pictured him as being mainly latino, that's it, but there isn't real rationality in that.
Plus, mixed origin is always strange, for instance people always see something different in me, they think i'm half Spanish, or Latina, and so on.

But I won't argue with you, I can see you got all that figured out.

More like easternsouthern european andor turkish. You named Bulgaria not long ago - for me a nice example of a place where turkish appearance (and his features are typical for Turkey and regions that had turkish influence in the past - which is huge part of modern eastern europe) and ukrainian surname may go together, also something like Romania, some parts of Balkan, or even some parts of Ukraine as well. And I bring your attention that father Alenko (whatever his name was) did not name his son John or Bill, he chose a name that fits surname and has similar origins. Well, yes, I know, that if diving out of game - it was not his fathermother but his author....but..he did good, same as any single name in ME series - it seems natural and fits the character and appearance.

But I get what you mean, yeah all the names are great, meaningful, evocative and they do sound well. "Ashley Williams" tells a lot about her (though she really does look latina too, don't you think???), and I like "Jeff Moreau"

*evil whisper* may be he shaved? 8P But....more like BW did not manage to work on facialbody hair textures.

Yeah, you're probably right about textures, thank god the textures, it suits me fine this way (drool).

Did Garrus EVER get hurt apart from the evac scene? I don't think so...

 I know I'm not a regular poster on this thread but I just have to say that dang! The EC scenes with Kaidan just about broke my heart. It's totally renewed my pixelated crush.  Can't wait to start another play-through from ME 1 and do it all again.

Garrus did look fine aside from limping a bit, but I don't know how diving out of the way of a flying Mako turned them from this to this

Absolutely. You may also notice that one of rare spellings was chosen (as there are existing and more popular (according to googling) variations like Kaiden,Cayden etc.)

Just as I pointed out before - almost each name and title in game sound natural and fits the character\\place\\thing. You know, if those guys who made ME1 were selling stuff (well, I know they do sell videogames, I mean something different, like... big boots ), they could make gold, imo. Just take a look at "N7" from logo\\brand point of view. Soudning - perfect, recognizability - perfect, graphics - brilliant. Or take a look at Alliance logo. Or take Normandy. Hell, not each RL existing company\\organization may have such fiting logos\\titles.

Well, that's how "headcanon" thing works. You, possibly, did not know that word, but you did IT. And I never told he or his father\\mother was born in London  from Europe directly. We know his parents lived in Vancouver, had a house with orchards somewhere in Canada(?), and that his pregnant mom chanced to be in Singapore when bad things happened(turned out not that bad, could be worse, I know). 

Rest of the background story can be built \\ imagined in any possible way (which does not contradicts given pieces of universe lore). Oh, and, by the way, I even see no problems for some migrant with european background to get close with some hot latino. No matter whom his grandma\\grandpa loved - his surname did not change its origin due to that fact. And his name perfectly fits surname, soo...

Yeah, I agree, I can't say that enough, ME1 is a great art direction and design success. I work in that field, so I've got an eye for that. It's one the most stylish games I've ever played, although it graphically borrows a lot from say, The Designers Republic's WipEout for instance. But on the overall, as far as video games are concerned, it felt fresh visually and very tastefully sharp. I loved the clean lines, the cold colours, and... female figures before they all became Barbie! Ah and the music was great too, the best score was still in ME1 IMO. And the holstering command, the film grain, the elevators, the default battle stances, ah, I miss a lot from ME1.

EDIT: ah yes, I saw your signature, great ending credit song too, makes me shiver! And it  kinds of break my heart every time I hear it when Alenko's coming out from the Normandy on that god damned jungle planet...

OK, I think there's actually a thread somewhere on the BSN for this already but we're trying to get everyone on the same page if at all possible, and if anyone is interested--or if enough people are interested to do the legwork that is in the works for this. We are wanting to know if you would be interested in a romance pack, either in the form of just more time with your LI added to a SP DLC, or just a character-centric SP DLC. Please come and take this poll on HTL. We want to know if there's enough demand for it. Because if there's not, then we won't have a shot in hell in order to get something like this. Also, yes, I would have loved to see an LI reunion, or at the very least Shepard was rescued and was a hospital bed and Kaidan was looking at her through a medbay window. 20 seconds and I would have been satisfied. But anyway...Also, send me a message if you have any questions.
