If Kaidan and Shep had a kid, I'm sure they'd name him/her "Ashley."  Or if you don't like the monogender name route, "Ashley" for a girl, "William" for a boy.  Kaidan obviously was affected by what happened on Virmire, but I don't think Ash talks about it much in ME3.  Surnames, not so sure....

I've always thought that was awkward. I wouldn't give my kid the name of the person I chose to leave behind to save their dad. For me at least. Don't want to bring anybody down. I've just always found it awkward  Same with Anderson actually. I'd rather give a kid his or her own name so they're not under the weight of someone else's. I might go with it as middle name though.

As for last names, my Shepard takes Alenko to hopefully make it a little easier to get away from the media.

My headcanon Shep and Kaidan have a girl named Vicky (for Victoria, cause yeah, after Saren, Shep's death, Horizon, Eva Core and the Reaper war, founding a family felt like a victory).
That and my Shep first name is Elizabeth. Cause she's a space queen. Yup.

In ME1 I didn't think of Kaidan as a rich kid since he was sort of just abducted into that biotics program so I figured his family didn't have much status.  But in ME3 he says his parents own an orchard right?  Plus we learn he owns land on the sunshine coast and he says "If the Reapers touch any of my stuff I'm gonna be so pissed"  so I figured he had a lot of material posessions.  Considering he's been in the military most of his life he probably is sort of a rich kid to have amassed all that.
But I definitely don't see him as being superficial (aside from hair gel) since he talks about how he enjoys living lean on the Normandy and it's just not in his persona to be stuck up.

I think the line was that it "matured" to beach front - I always assumed this was due to rising sea levels or something. Orchards take time to cultivate too, so would make sense to have a family home for several generations, where previously it had been inland, in the space of 100 years or so to have matured to beachfront if the sea level rose.

I don't think status has anything to do with your kid getting essentially abducted into a biotic training program. I mean, look at what happened to Jack. Didn't they (ok, it was Cerberus, but my point is the same) get the doctor to lie to her mom and tell her she was dead? Kaidan's case probably wasn't that extreme but he was from one of the first generations of human biotics (if not the first) so getting them in to be studied/trained was a priority. He also makes it a point of emphasizing that all human biotics are considered "freaks" and they are all "documented" (not to mention that Rhana's family was uber rich) so it doesn't seem like your background is much of an issue at all.

But yeah, I still got the impression that his family was kind of rich. erosion takes a while (typically) so the house was probably in the family for some time. And the orchard thing. So. I think he at least came from a well off family, even if he didn't experience many of the benefits.

Plus I'm betting land is probably gonna be at a premium in the future. We're already getting crowded as it is.

Finally getting around to starting my ending art piece, because I still need closure dammit! lol  They're going to be in a roughed up Huerta hospital room but I haven't done the background line work yet.

Like I keep saying - they can put glitter, spangles and sequins on the Control and Synthesis choices but Destroy is the only option that allows a reunion (such as it is). First EC playthrough I didn't even hesitate hanging a right at the intersection - hell, if I could have made a hand signal I would have!

EDIT: Andreas, that is amazing! I don't know if there will ever be another LI book to send to BioWare but if there is, that artwork HAS to go in there!

i'm fine picking the other endings... just not Kaidan romance... his "don't leave me behind" kind of sealed the deal with me and destroy...

Tali however i chose synthesis due to the fact shepard wants her to live without her suit.

The only time I'll pick Control is during my renegade femshep playthrough where Kaidan is dead and I romanced Liara.  Nothing left to live for anyway.
