Oh, Zaeed... I find him terribly sexy, too. I'm almost 31 now, but I have always had a thing for older guys (not real old, mind you, but maybe 5 - 10 years older than myself) and I know even 15 year old me would have been head over heels for Kaidan.

Hey, I might be a one-pixel-boyfriend Shepard, but I do read other pairings, and I've occasionally found "past Shenko, moving on to another LI" to be compelling (when they're not bashing Kaidan, you know the deal...).  

I would be happy to put fics that don't feature Kaidan as a LI up there, too, as long as he's got an interesting role.  I just grabbed a bunch of links to ones I was familiar with.

Um, yeah. Am I the only one here who's mind went elsewhere when thinking of Shep on her knees to Kaidan? :innocent:

There will be no need for forgiveness. My FemShep was faithful (actually they both were). My Shep is still a little pissed at him for misjudging her motives though. Methinks some angry make-up sex would not be remiss at some point in the game, followed by fluffy pillow talk that does not include "JOKER'S WAITING FOR YOU ON THE BRIDGE!" I seriously wanted a slap Joker mod in the first game. As much as I love his character, habitually interrupting special times is not appreciated.

Hmm, makes me wonder if Joker has a thing for Shep too. Why not? Everyone else seems to. LOL, the real conclusion to the Mass Effect trilogy....Shepard cutting a deal with the Reapers to save him/her from all the stalker LI wannabes!

Reading how so many decisions could affect the final game makes me wonder if I should save the base at the end of 2 on one of my characters? I'm wondering what difference that might make to Cerberus. Would they hate you less? Would Kaidan hate you more? Decisions, decisions.

I'm wondering if they even promoted the VS to Spectre just for the significance of having another human Spectre bring in Shepard willingly or no. Like Shepard was only appointed Spectre to bring in Saren and the Coucil might treat Shepard as a traitor as well, or at least as someone who has fallen from grace.
Why they'd have the trial on Earth? No clue ...(aside from the ZOMG Eart is being attacked and while the Citadel is important it had been under attack before ... and while we may care for the Citadel, the Earth is the homeplanet of humans ... even Spacers can't ignore that, right?)

Wanted to make sure no one had responded to this before I did...

Shepard is chosen to become the first human SpecTRe because of his/her past accomplishments. Because (s)he couldn't finish the test review with Nihlus due to his death, (s)he has to prove his/her capability by proving Saren's betrayal. After that, (s)he receives the appointment, but not to specifically bring Saren in. Technically, the Council could have tasked any existing SpecTRe with bringing Saren in. Shep just volunteered. Essentially.

What I'm getting at here is that there is no precedence for appointing someone a SpecTRe just to bring in another rogue SpecTRe. What I've seen hinted at by BioWare folks is that there is something important that VS accomplishes post-Horizon that earns them SpecTRe status. Totally on-topic, Kaidan-related. See? Right here.

The trial is on Earth because Alliance is trying to play nicey-nice with the batarians without physically giving them Shepard. Because everyone knows the batarians would just execute Shep.

I want to know what it is that Kaidan did do to gain SpecTRe status! But also, I am wondering if ME3 will even start out with anything before the trial. I'm afraid the opening scene will be the trial with no tense/awkward/sexy Shep and Kaidan reunion until after many, many minutes (if not hours) into the game. I would love for Kaidan to come fetch Shep for the trial even if she does want to go willingly.

Edit: it's totally fun to type SpecTRe instead of Spectre. Is why I did it. Not to be a correcting prissy-pants like the rest of my post seems to be. Sorry! Oh, and added bold to quote to clarify what I was responding to.

*waves* Newcomer here, well sort of because I have been reading up on this lovely thread from page 1, and I have to say first and fore most that you guys all make my day a whole lot better, giving me a huge cheeseball grin on my geeky gamergirl-face So thank you all for giving me that squeezy feeling about loving such a wonderful character as Kaidan.

I'm in somewhat of an art-related issue here and I'd like some thoughts of fellow fans. I'm going to be working on an etching and muscle/sneak through with a tribute picture of Kaidan. Doing some more research ingame and through many lovely posted snapshots, opinions and references here and around other sites, I've been mainly struggling with.. his hairstyle So here's my screencap of my choice issue on my public Google+ account: plus.google.com/100126319423389598161/posts

Thank goodness for layers, but honestly I have a hard time picking between his hair styles. Input will be very much appreciated since he will be etched in copper, and I cant afford to redo an expensive mistake like that ;}

That's not quite why Shepard became a Spectre.

Shepard was a Spectre because Udina had been hammering them about getting one. She didn't "prove" anything except Saren's treason. She was already being considered as a Spectre before Eden Prime, after all. Had she not been on their short list, she probably wouldn't have been sent for Saren and the Council might've picked someone else, like Anderson.

I would guess the VS, after Horizon, is on their short list, too. (Or maybe even before Horizon.)

Well... his hair texture is technically tightly curled.  So, the second one, to me, is closer to true.  I think you can find a close-up screen shot earlier in this thread.

I like the one on the right best, but that's my own, completely subjective opinion. And welcome from a fellow newbie!

Edit: Blah, sorry for the off-topicness, but I wanted it to be clear that I understand the distinction. Yes, Udina was pressuring the Council to appoint a human SpecTRe.

I agree with the second version looking closer to what his hair has been shown to look like in the past (I don't even know anymore with the CE alternate appearance pic making his hair look spiky all of a sudden).

You're still not understanding me.  And it's not really off topic since it relates to how Kaidan may have gotten to be one.  Shepard wasn't tasked with anything.  As far as the Council was concerned, the matter was closed.  Udina and Anderson told her to find more evidence, but Shepard had already decided that needed to be done anyway. 

Spectres are tools, weapons.  Kaidan must've proven himself a useful tool.  That's all.

I'm wondering if some of my extreme attraction  to Kaidan stems from my childhood memories. Also, why are there so few darker hair/complexion LI's? People don't really prefer blondes, do they? I certainly don't and I am one.
