Here it is.  You have been warned.  Weird prompt is totally weird and little off putting (at least it was to me) at first.  The author actually does a good job of making it believable though.  Also Shep hooks up with people other than Kaidan (before getting with him) because of the prompt so if that's not your bag then avoid the crap out of it. 

Skimmed some of them, probably taking this out of context, but the intersex part and miscarriage thing kind of threw me off.

Lol, now you understand why I said it was totally off putting.  But Kaidan/John fluff never goes amiss with me so I ended up loving it. 

Ok I gave it another go, skipped to Horizion and have been reading since that. I. Love. It. The whole intersex thing is kind of weird, but I can see past it.

Bumping this for the night crew because the polls apparently close tomorrow. Kaidan is pretty much in last place for all the primary romance characters (currently, only Jack gets less love than Kaidan).

To me, Kaidan is such an obvious winner - i mean, even if i put my personal preferences aside, yet he's actually average. I discovered that some people positively hated the character and that's also pretty puzzling.

Same thing about Jack, it's a good character IMO, a bit limited in the development, but rather well defined and believable. I was also really surprised at people actually asking for a Tali romance, not because of her character, but because I'd always imagine her being some kind of giant huh... grasshopper underneath her suit (but a pretty one of course).

I would be really interested to have statistics about each character fanbase, I can only imagine that each group is rather homogenous.

So yeah, this poll is a disappointment, not because I actually expect a romance DLC to happen, nor because I genuinely look forward to one, but because if such a perfect character combo in a video game is not that successful, then chances that other video games in the future will meet the segment I belong to are as thin as Kaidan's popularity. And I am not just tallking about Kaidan hotness, I am talking about the ME experience on the overall, I'd really love to have 100% mature video games, but unfortunately, it's not going to happen. The series is already a big step, but obviously, ME3 is one big exercise at pleasing very different types of consumers, and I'm left unsatisfied on many levels.

I just read a horribly depressing one with Kaidan ignoring Shepard's orders and protecting her with a Biotic Feild from Harbinger's Laser, and then promtly passing.

I took Kaidan from the FemShep Version and placed him on this Version of the Wallpaper, so that it fits My Story.

Since both Wallpapers were made in pretty much the same way, all I did was copied and pasted Kaidan on this Wallpaper. It took me several minutes to fix it. This was VERY easy.

Kaidan is not my Love Interest. My Love Interest in Mass Effect is the One And ONLY Miranda Lawson<3. I'm Straight, but I'm not against Gay/Lesbian Romance and Marriage. I just personally don't role that way myself. I'm not intolerant, in case some of you were thinking I was.

I'm here to Support Alenko. He's a cool Character. He and Garrus were my Squad throughout ME1. He's a better Character than Ashley.

I don't get this. Are people masochistic or something?  I mean, not especially you as a reader, but the writer?
I'm not much into fanfic, but if i'm going to read any, i'd rather have it neutral or happy. I don't need any extra depressing material  Thanks for sharing though.

I know it's not that obvious from the look of this thread, but... you know there also are straight women among Kaidan fans (such as I).
I always appreciate straight guys saying they like Kaidan's character, it gives me hope about Mankind
I actually quite liked Ashley, it was nice to have a strong female character.

It's an alternate universe wherein Shepard is a councilor and Kaidan is the spectre who looks after her, as if Shepard needs looking after. There's so much tension between them though.

Masochistic? Wouldn't say that. Sadness, written correctly, can be just as rewarding as any other emotion. You basically read these because it makes you feel for the characters, and remember why you enjoy them, if all you did was read sad fics then yes, that would be kind of weird, but what you should do, is read a couple of good ones, then read a sad one, because that's how life goes. It's not all happy roses, reading a sad fic once in a while makes the good ones even more rewarding because you *know* how bad it can be.

Shepard was looking through her clothes to look for her Hoodie, but it was nowhere to be seen. She had checked everywhere in her cabin, But when she looked on her desk she found a note

‘Shepard, i stole your Favourite Hoodie, if you want it back you would have to take it from meLove KA’

Shepard walked out of the cabin and into the Elevator and rode it to the Crew area.When she entered the observation room, she saw Kaidan in her Hoodie and thought of how cute he looked in it,

she smiled  and walked up to him “Your wearing my Hoodie, Alenko”
He laughed “So you found my Note, Shepard”

she nodded and then grabbed him by the hoodie and pulled him in close, then kissed him right on the lips.
When she pulled away and tugged on the hoodie she whispered “You look sexy as hell in that”

He laughed “Well if you want it back just say so, but you would have to take it from me”

She smiled “Well meet me in my cabin in five minutes i think i know how to get rid of it from you, mr Alenko”
as she walked away he was jsut smiling at her, and was staring at her ass
“Stop staring, others will begin to talk” she yelled back.
