You know, I'd rather FemShep looked a bit more like that and less like Barbie, skinny arms and all... she's a damn soldier, not a model, but hey, who am I to argue with the vision Strong female character but hey, she still has curves and a chest! She wears a PVC dress on the ship to look... well, I don't know what they wanted her to look like but I have never used it on my sheps, it's demeaning to have to dress so badly... default FemShep must plaster makeup on her face, lips and eyeliner permanently adorned on her face. Why? Who are they appealing to? As a female gamer I like my protagonist to look special - I dunno, sexy powerful or something? Kaidan's got to have something there to look at, after all... But equally she needs to look like someone who can kill husks, mercs and brutes with her bare hands because she does! Cybernetics be damned, FemShep is too damn skinny. She should look like she's been fighting for survival for hours, not spending days infront of a damn mirror having makeovers!

Note to self, get off podium and shuddup now... Normal programming will resume shortly!

Maybe it'sbecause I'm a too much girly but I like my VG characters to look pretty 
In the case of FemShep, yup, I would have liked to be a little more muscled... Heavy armor and and all those military gears she's constantly carrying should have thickened her arms at least.
Reguards the make up... I have headcanoned it : my FemShep is Earthborn, and I like to think she had her eyeliner tatooed, because yup... she used to be a teen, and even if a badass teen, I guess she wanted to look pretty at those times. But didn't want to spend all her mornings in front of a miror to put on make up.
I just imagine she went over the process again after Cerberus rebuilt her, not out of vanity but to feel like herself again.

Scared? What do you mean scared?  
You could make femShep's face look like this in-game if you wanted to. Also, if you ask me, Kaidan doesn't look like himself at all here either, so...  This is the artist's personal vision of ME.

On a more personal side, I'm really a lot more happy with this version of femShep, a bit manly, muscles at last, boyish hairtcut and a proper casual outfit (I want that green tank top for my Shep!) than with so many others I've seen, including default Shep > bathing suit, default stripper dress, 10 layers of flamingo lip gloss, nail polish!! THAT's scary...

... so dreamy! Such hypnotizing bedroom eyes. The animators did a really good job with this scene, it just shows how expressive Kaidan can be. Who wouldn't want to do whatever Kaidan tells you, especially if he looks at you like this!!!

and on a side tangent, I really should try the PC version of Mass Effect 1/2/3 and play on hi-res. I've seen screenshots and they look exquisite compared to the XBox 360 version (which is still great, but I miss PC gaming, lol). Default Sheploo looks amazing on PC as well.

Just keep in mind, that good share of shots you've seen could be high-res modded. Default in-game textures and AAs even on max best are...not that really perfect.

I actually love, love, love, the new default femshep face, makeup and all. I love her more than Kaidan.  My Mass Effect folder has more pictures of her than Kaidan. I get so so excited when I see pic of her it's stupid. That being said I do hate her body. Her arms are so tiny it's sad. I'm cool with the rest of her body for the most part. She just really needs beefier arms. It's ridiculous. 

I really wish she had that leather jacket outfit broshep gets rather than that stupid dress.

Teheh, I love my femShep too you know. Probably as passionately as Kaidan, they're just a pair.
Actually, I've never ever played with default femShep, maybe I would grow to like her. Obviously, she doesn't look so much in-game as in the original art, and she's also more cartoonish than ShepLoo. I've seen some modded textures of her with almost no make-up on, and I thought she looked better. What bothers me is not the intensity of the eyeshadow, it is the size of it (my femShep always wore that very heavy eyeliner), and also, the glossy lips... Let's just imagine that in the future, makeup technology is at its peak and that you don't need to put back some lip gloss on everytime you do a headshot ;-)

Don't mention that  - apparently only broshep is allowed to be cool...

It is. I rather like that Shepard--she's a soldier, not a supermodel. So she's going to have an athletic build, like....well, here:

Those are some examples of what a FemShep ideally *should* be built like, IMO--the former is how I envision my FemShep being built. (WARNING: pics are tastefully done and don't show any ladyparts, but they're still NSFW because of nudity)

I mean, she runs all over the place, lugs gear, jumps, wears armour that isn't exactly light--even if your FemShep's an Adept or an Engineer, she's still IMO going to show more muscle tone than she's given in-game.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw vids of BroShep in it.
At least a jacket with a woman's cut...

The dress Kasumi gave us in ME2 was... well, not nice, but let's say a fine tight leather dress  but at least it had a real purpose : look like someone Shep is not during Kasumi LM. Shep kept it because... t'was a gift after all, you don't throw away your friend's gift do you ? 

But the ME3 dress... yew... this outfit is supposed to be casual. Even considering Shep might like an outfit classier than her military fatigues but less formal than her Alliance uniform... I don't picture her choosing a vulgar leather dress on her requisition list <_<

This FemShep reminds me a bit of a young Aveline, of DA2.
She's maybe a little too manish for my taste but why not.

Well the first one is how I would imagine FemShep. Arms not too big but muscled, and thickest thighs. I think she's perfect. The second one is a little too skiny... I mean, did you see those ribs ?  The third one is fine too... but maybe a little too curvy.

It's funny because I made a (crappy) drawing some times ago, and a friend told me my Shep had too big arms... though if I could have made exactly what I had in mind, her muscles would have been a little more even thick.

Of course, you're right, but well, Shepard's look has never been about realism. My favourite Shepard figure was from ME1 (actually, everybody's figures, but that's another subject) , back then all female characters had the exact same model, which made it that the player didn't even care about this.

I have more problems in ME2 with the fact that they didn't really care about tweaking her animations and proportions in-game. They just copied-pasted broShep's. I thought the casual silhouette looked good in ME2, if only yes, always the arms, always a bit too thin. But when she's rolling her head to relax her neck, and doing circles with her arm and so on, I thought the impression of strength was there. What really annoyed me at first - but I got used to it - is femShep in armor running around... Her figure being so much smaller than broShep's, it feels like she's this little girl lost underneath a heavy amount of stuff... If you run around looking down, you'll have the feeling you're just running in thin air or spot on, that's just ridiculous. Also, she acted too manly sometimes, especially at Omega with Aria.
In ME3, well, casual femShep is ghastly, let's not talk about that
But, on the other hand, her armored look fits exactly the kind of figures from your ESPN pics. So, I guess femShep is only athletic in armor  I really love her thighs, and that thing running all along the spine, really great!

Haha. I was kinda surprised by that too. I don't think Kaidan's a weenie nerd. He seems like a pretty strong nerd. I mean, the guy stood up to Shepard and flat out told her he wouldn't leave his ideals for her. He's got guts. I like it

Seriously, when I think about the two of them, I always picture them as a team, a balanced pair. So Kaidan is strong too, it's just that it's not the same kind of strength Shepard displays. That's what's so lovely about their relationship.

Dang, me too! They need each other. That's why I was pretty excited when Kaidan was made a spectre. I had this whole crusing around the galaxy together thing going. You know, as spectres. It would have been glorious.

Feel like i have to chime in and say, yeah, I DO think Kaidan is a bit of a nerd - that's part of his adorable charm. and some of the shep's I've seen would probably not make a good match for him. if you're playing shepard as someone who can only love her/his own badassery, then yeah, shep will probably overlook kaidan. but any shepard who has a soft spot for nerds (or is a giant nerd her/himself) would totally be a perfect fit for kaidan.

anyhow, deep down, my femshep is TOTALLY awkward and a nerd. so it works out fine.

Eh, I read that to mean that it was his FemShep/headcanon only, so I was OK with it. Personally? I like nerdy!Kaidan--but that's because I'm nerdy myself.
