Commander Shepard officially killed Kaidan. Both times.  He also goes into some detail about Kaidan not being a romance in Mass Effect 1.

So yep, I'm back again--I swoop in and then I take off. So the survey discussing a possible romance DLC--and I don't want to misconstrue this. The odds of getting character-centric (LI-centric) DLC is very unlikely but we thought we'd convey how much we would love to have more time with our LIs. So even if you're interested or not, here's this survey. It's up to about 7,000 in less than a week. It will be left up until Saturday and then analysis will start. We'll post the results once that's finished. But anyway, here it is -- and please if you go to other forums, post it there too. This is just the only one that I really frequent.

If you have any questions, by all means ask. Also, we're looking for people who may be interested in art projects creating renderings of classic art with Shepard and respective LIs. If you think you may be interested, please, please, please let me know. This is a side project that's going to be presented along with the survey results. Or, if you do art of the characters you may want to see as LIs, i.e, Kasumi, Vega, Joker, Samara, etc, please send me a message.

It will work out, trust me.   My money is on a meeting that ran a lot longer than it should have.


My interview is on Friday. I had put in an application the first week in June (!) and they called me at home yesterday. Kind of a nice surprise seeing as I really didn't have any job prospects and was planning on signing up with a temp agency the beginning of August.

I'll let y'all know how it goes.

This was actually an interview through an agency so I got my hopes up.  The lady I interviewed with seemed like she was getting on with me but made a comment towards the end of the interview about me being over qualified so I've just been worrying about it all day.  I'm feeling genuinely unemployable lately.  I seem to have too much education and not enough work experience.  So where does that leave me?  Playing video games half the day, that's where.

Anybody who participated in the Kaidan books that were put together. We believe BioWare received theirs yesterday, however they are at SDCC so we probably won't hear more about that until next week. And I messaged Jacqui, Sbarge's social media person, and she has not received the one allotted for him yet. Hopefully we will know more soon--probably not until next week, however, and pics to follow -- again, hopefully.

I finally got to play the Extended Cut DLC after being stuck visiting my uncle for the week and all of my tears are gone now. It was so sad yet hopeful, all of the endings even the Control one. Though I was disappointed by the lack of a Kaidan reunion I was glad it could at least be inferred in the Destroy ending. And that final good-bye when you're sending Kaidan off in the Normandy and the memorial for Shepard!  

All in all I figured it was the Bioware they could do while keeping to their statement of not changing the endings and was glad for the victorious, non-galaxy-destroying feeling it left off with and felt that  Bioware at least delivered on its promise to give us closure.

What's the general consensus about it around here? Or could someone point me to around the page where the discussion about it began if you guys don't want to rehash it. I've been avoiding Bioware related sites like the plague since EC came out to keep away from spoilers and wanted to catch up with anything I missed.

I'm excited. I can't wait to see what he has to say during the mission (basically, I just want to hear him talk. About anything)

that's a pretty large sample. there may be more hope than I thought >_>

It's actually probably a greater number than that by now. I'll talk to the creator and see if she can give me an update and I'll try to post it sometime this evening. But yeah, you'd be surprised at the turnout. Now if we could get some artists to help in this presentation than we'd be golden.

I only listened to the first 40 minutes so far. I knew MShep/Kaidan was supposed to be in ME1, but according to Meer (around the 36:00 mark of the interview) there was talk of mshep/kaidan coming back in ME2... which I really wish happened!  but I remember a link on DanaDuchy's youtube page, here's the dialogue in ME2 to prove that Mark Meer did in fact record some MShep/Kaidan stuff:

Yeah, I don't know if it has to do with Comic-Con. Heck, even DeviantArt isn't updating as fast as it usually does!

I think your post pretty much expresses the general consensus of the EC - some are absolutely thrilled with it, some feel like it's nothing more than BioWare "polishing a turd" (not my quote - someone else's) and some thinking more could have been done. I'm personally in the last camp - while I appreciated the explanations and LOVED the goodbye scene between my Sheploo and Kaidan, if they would have just given me something more tangible in the way of a reunion with Kaidan since I chose the Destroy option - a cutscene, a slide, anything! - I would have said that the EC knocked it out of the park. As such, I'l stick with my baseball metaphors and say that the EC qualified it as a solid triple.

As for upcoming single-player DLC, I'll more than likely pick it up on the hopes that it might have extra Kaidan content (wouldn't complain if there was extra Vega/Cortez content either) but I won't lie - any content that takes place before the game's ending would feel kind of hollow for me. I want post-ending adventures with Shepard (and Kaidan by his side!!)

I do hope that the DLC has extra Kaidan content but I somehow doubt it. There usually isn't much in the way of squad interactions in them unless they're character specific like LotSB. 

Still the SP-DLCs Bioware puts out are usually pretty fun so at least there's that.
