But they claimed 9again) that you don't need MP to get breath scene! 8P If number 3100 is correct - it can be achieved on pure lazy single play. I had around 6800 TMS last time.

And MP is just...wel, just time(&money if you ready to pay $$ for random packs) sink. Random based "end-game" grind, that somehow crawled from MMOs into single player game.

ps: oh, and since on one bothererd to post anything 2183-related - have this little gift from me.

oo i got the breath scene but when i played i got 99 percent and just quit. and now i want to get into it just to get it again i dont like the 50 percent every time i log on the game >.<

I found out something totally splendid. Demolisher's homing grenade can knock someone out of a banshee's insta kill.

Reminds me of sp for a second though. On the ardat yakshi mission. I always nearly have a heart attack when a banshee snags Kaidan. Then I remember I can just medigel him. Still a harrowing experience.

did insanity on that mission, on the last bit with 2 banshee's...

both my team got impaled, however kaidan glitched and was immortal and distracted the banshee's for easy pickings...

Also i think it's just me, but is silver harder than pre-earth? I asked in the MP section but so far i just feel like it might just be me lol.

Also the store has not been that good to me either.... i got the pariha 5 times in a row and ended up with it maxed and ultra rare ammon cards over new character and other cards, which is apparently not supposed to happen. Still no harrier and only have the slayer so far... with all the credits and $40 of bioware points *head desk*

Kaidan will make it ok though ;) hehe

The store sucks - I also had BW points plus nearly 700k of credits, worked out as 17 PSPs and one SP and all I got was weapons, and the only new weapons were the seemingly useless Acolyte pistol lvl1 and the pirana at level2 which is imho not as good as a Reegar lvl2, so a complete washout. :( I promoted all my characters in anticipation of getting character cards, so I have now got to work up to the point where I can do some gold matches for more credits. I just want a sword!

I feel somewhat annoyed that they promote the heck out of the new characters and it's almost impossible to get them without levelling up everything else, which will likely take months because there's just too much stuff to collect now. They could at least give you a starter pack for each DLC with one guaranteed weapon and character - that's surely not too much to ask for, right?

But you guys cheered me up with that awesome snap of Kaidan locker scene in ME1 - best moment of the game by far. I may just go back to sp for a bit to cheer me up over lunchtime rather than the hard work of grinding out some MP credits, which is losing its appeal.

I only got the Paladin and the Piranha of the new weaps/chars - though I got quite a few of the new gear and some of the new weapon mods. Paladin's okay, but his real strength is in melee and I'm more of a sit back and shoot kinda gal.

I dunno, maybe it's because I've been playing with my husband, who's new to the game and therefore new to mp, but even Bronze seems a bit more frantic. I think they added more elites to later waves in the Reaper games - I don't remember so many Banshees and Brutes on bronze and silver before this weekend's operation. And geth have just been plain annoying since that failed update to make FBWGG undoable - hunters who are invulnerable while invis, Pyros that can flame you from fifty yards away, Primes throwing their turrets behind the group... bah.

I just need more people to play with. XD

Have some Kaidan:

so i'm playing ME1 Posted Image

Me too! I even went so far as to delete all my previous ME1 saves last night so I could start clean. The 2 glasses of sangria at 11:30 PM  helped me decide whether or not to delete everything or just start another playthrough Posted Image

This playthrough I'm taking my time to make sure I don't leave any quest undone. I've already done "Bring Down The Sky" DLC (just a reminder for you ME fans - BDTS is free! There should be a link in the ME1 forums on how to get it if you don't have it) and just finished Pinnacle Station ($5 on Origin. It's not too difficult and you get a nice little apartment in the middle of nowhere if you finish all the missions. Alas, it's not like "The Sims" where you can inviite a squadmate over for some naughty fun).

I went with my canon M!Shep - Earthborn/War Hero, 100% Paragon. I liked the conflict in that he had a darker/criminal past growing up on Earth (but since he maxxed out his "Charm" bar early I'm thinking he'd talk his way into getting what the 10th Street Reds wanted and/or talking his way out of a bad situation) but once joining the Alliance military he cleaned up his act and is now basically a walking recruitment poster. What, that's a bad thing??  Posted Image

...and now on to Virmire. That being said, let me ask my fellow Kaidanites a question. When  you split up Kaidan and Ashley, who do you choose to stay with the nuke and who goes to the AA tower?

For me, I send Kaidan to the AA tower and Ashley stays with the nuke. I've always felt uncomfortable having Kaidan preemptively arming the bomb and then going with Shepard, leaving Ashley abandoned on the AA tower. This way it looks more heroic for Ashley to arm the nuke and stoically hold off the geth, giving Shepard and Kaidan time to escape...and she gets that great cutscene at the end too!

What about y'all?

please tell me you've read the 10th street reds and minor offenses, or at least it sounds like you have..

I <3 earthborn background 1000000X more because of those two.

As for a ME1 play-through, I'm getting the itch just talking about it. I'm thinking I may need to delete all of mine as well. Not sure if I want to proceed moded or un-moded.

Silver CAN be harder IMO depending on what kind of squad (or players) you have/if you're using mics, etc.   I tend to use my Salarian Infiltrator if I'm doing Silver/Reaper or Gold/Anything though because just one of those can usually carry even the most inept group through a Silver mission.

Also, yeah, the store is terrible.  One of the major reason I'm not really into MP.  I save up a crap ton of credits and then never get anything new.  I still don't even have a Krogan Vanguard, Asari Justicar, or a Vorcha.  :(

As for not needing MP to get the breath scene, I can pretty much confirm this.  I just finished a run through a few days ago and I think my readiness was at like 55 percent or something and I still got it so woohoo.

I send Kaidan with the Salarians for RP reasons and because he sounds damn sexy on the radio.  I pretty much reasons it this way--Ashley, despite what most would say, is pretty freaking racist in the first game.  Part of me wants to give her the chance to prove herself, but part of me doesn't trust her enough to get the job done because of her hang ups.  So I send Kaidan.  Then for the saving bit, I rationalize that I'll be saving more people if I go pick up Kaidan.  That way my femshep and Kaidan can get around the whole "you only saved me because we're banging" thing.

Now if I'm playing a Mshep I send him with the bomb.  The first reason being because the game seems to be telling you that that's the right thing to do (he somehow has a proficiency for arming explosives...maybe because he's a sentinal so he's tech proficient?).  Also because it seems more romantic that way.  Mshep is secretly hung up on Kaidan so he saves him despite it being the "wrong" decision because he just can't leave him behind.

I'm silly, I know.

How did I save 3 million credits ? Huh... I played only gold since the announcement of Earth DLC. Can't tell you how many games I did... A LOT. That's all I can say ><

And for ME1 I always send Kaidan with Kirrahe.

I think he is more qualified to lead/work with a team than Ash (ME3 proved me right ! :D) and as Txmn said, Ashley is hmm... well I wouldn't say racist. I don't think she is. But she is far less open minded, so I wouldn't choose her to team up with the salarians.

And she's a gunnery chief, I may get it wrong but I think big nukes are more her thing than Kaidan's (though as a tech expert, yeah, it could be... but don't bother, I'm not listening anyway :D)

On my very first playthrough, I sent Kaidan to the bomb, shame on my Commander, she felt he would be safer there.
Plus for some reason, as a soldier, Ashley seemed the most natural choice for the AA tower, and Kaidan as the sentinel, for the bomb. ... When I realized he was arming the nuke, I just wanted to rescue him, no matter what.
But when Kaidan questioned my Shep about her motivations back on the Normandy, she told him it was none of his business...
I've watched the alternate scene on Youtube, and I feel Kaidan at the nuke is more dramatic, probably more approriate romance-wise. I think I've tried the other way around, but I just couldn't do it, the way my choices had played out the very first time made them seem so obvious afterwards... But if i'm brave, i shall try it, just to see how LT manages the AA tower...

Yes, I feel Silver is bit more difficult too...

Unmodded. I'm a purist and it totally breaks immersion for my M!Sheploo to be referred to as 'ma'am'...and let's not forget the Ilos cutscene where my tall, muscular Shep magically becomes more petite, has softer skin and sports a pair of bodacious ta-ta's Posted Image

Not at all, that was my exact reasoning-- that Shepard legitimized the 'wrong' choice because of Kaidan.

just messing with you, I haven't completed gold missions, so I could only speak about how long 3mil would take doing it 15K-30at a time on bronze/silver missions.

What sort of N7 ratting or equipment did you need or at what point did you start to feel like you weren't a useless n00b in Gold?

I'm an above average player, I often out-score people with much higher N7 rattings, but I also feel like my items are just not up to snuff with the 2-3 headshots it takes to down silver NPC's and I'm still stuck using a level 2 viper or level 7 Mantis.

Ronrey....I'm so ronrey... (I love that scene!)

Seriously, I wish BW would have the stones to come out with a new version of Mass Effect 1 that would have ME3's graphics and have Mark Meer record the missing dialog for the Shenko Ilos scene, but since ME originally came out for the Xbox Microsoft would probably demand lot$ of ca$h to do it. Damn them.

But until then my Shep will just have to pine for the hunky biotic for 2 1/2 games. But you have to admit the emotional payoff at the "You and me. I like that.  A lot." line at the date scene  is kinda worth it. Posted Image

at the "You and me. I like that. A lot." line at the date scene is kinda worth it.

At first I thought it was incrediably cheesy, but that was before with the extra background so that whole scene didn't make sense(another loop hole in the moded version) . Might mean more going through without having any payoffs up until that point. Or at least that's what I'm hoping.

The line(s) that made it worth it to me were the ILY's at the citadel beam.
