Has to do with lighting.  They also probably put some kinda bump map on Kaidan's face texture to make it more prominent/convincing.

I know BW gave Sbarge some copies of the games and he asked on twitter if he should romance himself or not.
Kinda weird to think about.

I love the Sbarge and Hale interview about this. Obviously neither of them are the gamer type, when he says "I saw the goodbye scene in London on Youtube" and Hale says "Yeah? How was it?", he says "Pretty hot!", that's really weird and cute at the same time. If I remember right, Sbarge didn't even know Meer and Hale were both the same character.

After seeing all those Luciano pics, I've felt attraction towards Kaidan again... Damn shame I can't pick both him and Steve. I'm screwed.

How anyone could ever lose attraction to Kaidan is beyond me.  For shame!

Also I think it's unfair to say Luciano seems stuck up based on pics alone, he seems like a really nice guy in his regular pics, it's just the modeling pics that have a hint of him being stuck up but that's usually the case when a model is posing for a photo and staring into a camera trying to look hot.

Not to mention he lives in LA and we know Bioware does some work there so it makes sense that he could have showed up to a ME1 casting call in the area.

Don't mind me. I'm just having fun. I like his ingame model (all of them) ... but's it's just that ... a model in a game with an outdated engine. Sometimes the animation is odd, sometimes the lighting is very unfortunate and I've always tried to picture how Kaidan would look like in real life anyway, so finding his face model or someone who could pass for his face model is really a nice way to round the character.

Kaidan is a composite character. Sbarge's voice acting, several writers and maybe Luciano Costa's looks. Why not?

Now, if I could find someone who looks like my FemShep. :happy:

@AndreasShepard Shame shame:devil: Also, it's kind of disheartening that Luciano's called 'douchy' because he's hired to model clothes (he genuinely seems like a nice guy). It's like hating on Vega because he looks like 'an ape' or hating on Kaidan because he's 'whiny' or looks like a 'dork', which is really upsetting.

Models usually look very aloof. It's their job to look exactly the way their employer wants them to.

I love this pic. Not stuck up. A bit silly and a smile. Very ME3-Kaidan-y.

A reminder:

If you don't like something you see in this thread, like Luciano Costa photos, the best thing to do is a) scroll on by and realize that others have different opinions than you and it makes the world a more interesting and wonderful place OR get Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, install AdBlock, and block any pictures you don't like.

Having opinions isn't a crime, but let's not get to a point where people are insulting the model (who is, after all, a real person) or putting down the taste of others.

Definitely. Which is why we need more non model pics. Models are paid to look douchy. That's the way it is. I don't think he looks like Kaidan in his model pics. His regular guy pics are a lot better.

Just a quick look at the guy's Facebook page, and um...yeah, he's not Italian. He's from Louisiana. Which means he's a southern gentleman, likes the Saints (Who Dat!), and apparently is a Bama fan (Roll Tide!). He was a bartender, started his own business and apparently, took up modeling.

So he's the "face" of Kaidan...but like someone else stated recently, the personality that we all love and adore came from the writers and from Raphael's excellent delivery.

But I must say, those pictures sure will make photo manipulations more...um...um....yeah, I just lost my words at the thought.  And all the "regular guy" pictures are making me think of Kaidan and Shep on shore leave somewhere...

Yup he's from Brazil. There's this episode of him in a reality show and he confirms it (lol I'll have to put a stop at this stalker-ish tendencies soon)
