Actually, if there's anybody you could be apologizing to, that would be Alenko  (just kidding of course). 
I'll explain, sorry for the long text, but I just feel this is important somehow - as far as a video game can be important of course.

Kaidan belongs to all Kaidanites.
What I so love in Kaidan is the whole combo, and his looks are just a small part of it. Like Sbarge's voice, his lines, his body attitudes, his facial expressions, his personality, his romance arc, the way he was implemented in the gameplay, etc. - well, you know as well as I do - all of this, is a million times more important than his actual appearance. Luciano just lent his face for scanning - he says two shots I think, all the rest is pure BW creation. There's so much more about Kaidan than just a 3D puppet with the face of a Brazilian model, isn't that obvious? At least, it is to me. I took a quick glimpse at that reality show (and lost a few precious neurons in the process) and i really don't understand what's all the drooling about some shirtless guy, there is absolutely no connection to me between the both of them, lucky for me! 

I understand you're all excited about finding out his RL model, it's so very natural, you don't need to explain this!
I was OK with seeing here endless streams of butt shots and other suggestive renders, cause it was for the laughs (at least for me, plus I always think about the butt grabs and that glance from Shep on the Citadel ) and it still was technically Kaidan. Although when a Miranda fan posted here something about Kaidanites being surprisingly a lot more obsessed by Kaidan's butt than Miranda fans by hers, it gave me some thinking. Now, we have some photoshopped Lucianos and shirtless Luciano animated GIFs...
What does it tell about Kaidan Alenko as a character I wonder?

I just hope that BW or any other game studio who will have the project to work on a mature video game and intend to create a lovable video character based on the popularity of Kaidan for instance, won't believe that it will work, that it will be good enough, just by scanning some body-builded male model, adding some sexy times and a puss-in-boots look.

For one, I would be really angry about it, that would mean for me no hope to see any valuable video game in the future and just back to the usual video game mediocrity.

Also, I don't think this is doing Kaidan Alenko justice.

This just makes me feel a bit sad.
Of course, this is the end of Mass Effect, we all knew this would come. I don't have much hope about incoming DLC. This thread has been mainly lately only about MP, Luciano and... Doodle flirting  Ah, fanfic, that's an exception, of something really really Kaidan related.

So I knew there would come a time for saying goodbye to Alenko.
In that aspect, this reveal about Luciano's identity is, well, just "killing" Kaidan a bit more - and i'm saying that very matter-of-factly, not in a dramatic way.
I just wanted Alenko to go, well, in style!

But that's just me.

I thought I was going to feel weird when I thought about suggesting his body language is so KA as well. I suppose that makes sense considering he did all of Kaidan's facial emotions though.

there's only 1 good picture I've seen where he kinda looks like sheploo.. The one where he's sitting or kneeling with a shaved head.. all the others with hair and such.. it just doesn't do it for me. He looked too tired or something.

Kaidan is popular? I thought he was one of the not so popular characters.

You seem really sad that ME is over. I can relate to that ... for me it's over after it barely started. I bought and played ME1 in March 2012, so I had four months and I feel l missed all the fun.

But I can't change that people are moving on and most things have already been discussed to death.

It's all dying down a bit. I enjoy what fun there is still to be had, and if that includes drooling and squeeing over one of the more shallow aspects for a few days ... so be it. I know there's more to it. And fan art, fan fiction and roleplaying groups on tumblr, A3O or FF.net can still help with that. (Seriously, the ability of people to take a random image and spin it into a little post-ME3 drabble is amazing.)

Plus, I have a very active imagination, fed by an endless list of bookmarks and a file full of random facts and trivia (headcanon ahoy!). That's were ME and Kaidan live on for a little while longer (until I get bored). :happy:

I think he's 37/38. Kaidan is 35/36. Close enough.

Goodbye to Kaidan?  Well, in game yes, but even now I'm starting to get the urge to replay ME1 with a new Shepard, not just for Kaidan, but to me ME will always have Kaidan in it (sorry Ash).  But Kaidan, and the others, live on in my memories even though I'm not actively playing any ME right now.  


Hmm... I don't think knowing who Kaidan's face model is a bad thing and it takes nothing from my Kaidan(s).  Every one of my Shepard's has a differnet ME universe, with a differnet Kaidan.  Taking my ME3 Shepards, in most he's my LI to my Paragon, Paragade,  Para-Neutral, and a very good friend to my Renagon (who has Steve as his LI).  

Knowing that Kaidan has a face model doesn't bother me at all.  Kaidan is more than a face or a voice, he's a combination of them and so much more.  For sure, his face and voice, are what the see and hear but Kaidan is also the writers, artists, animators, class designers, etc, who all contribute to making Kaidan... Kaidan. 

That's why I'd rather not see the ME movie made, none of the characters would be THEM.  They'd be some weird imposters.

Yeah, the idea of a Mass Effect movie based on the games doesn't sit well with me. I wouldn't watch it. Kaidan would look all wrong, sound all wrong, smile all wrong. So would everyone else.

I *had* kind of hope they go a "Clone Wars" route, an CGI animated series with the voice-actors. After seeing what they did to Vega in Paragon lost.... /sigh

I agree. I have no faith in Bioware at all, it seems. Not when it comes to Mass Effect. Maybe not even Dragon Age (lots of lore decay there, too, with the movie and the comics).

Oh. Yes. You're very right. I'm so biaised, Kaidan is so unique to me.
I mean, as a video game character. What's his fanbase? 15% of all ME3 fanbase maybe? Or less?

All these things, probably like yourself, I was so excited to discuss about, and well, I'm so late to the party all the time
I don't envy the original fans from 5 years ago though. The waiting would have killed me. And this is from a now officially ME1 purist.

I know it's for the fun, and all in good spirit. You're right, I'm probably just sad.
And yeah, a lot of very talented and imaginative fans out there for sure - i thought myself about some fan project, but after some thoughts, I think I'd rather let it all rest.

An all CGI movie would be the kiss of death for  ME1 or any sequels. CGI movies that try to do real-people never do well. Ever. Unless you have a budget like Avatar, which they don't, and they still used RL actors.

Yes, you're absolutely right, ME will always be with me too.
As I said, I'm a ME1 purist, so while I'm currently at peace with the franchise, the endings, I'm still bitter about so many things that tarnished my ME experience. Obviously, like you, I don't ever want to see a ME movie coming out.

At the moment, I've put on hold any attempt at SP, or SP editing. I think this is all still too recent. But I sure hope that in some time, I'll be able to get back there, and enjoy it very simply. At least as far as ME1 is concerned.

No, me neither, i don't think it's bad at all.
Actually, I always thought that Kaidan had had a RL model and that the artists had customized his face, that it was a BW creation based on a RL person. Like for instance, to me, ShepLoo doesn't feel like Vanderloo at all.
And I honestly still feel like this. Very objectively, I don't see Luciano in in-game Kaidan. So it really doesn't bother me.

Probably, I just grew tired of all the Lucianoing in here, while I was expecting to see Kaidan. And the switching Kaidan/Luciano GIFs don't help, they suggest they're both interchangeable, and well... they're NOT

But it's OK, no big deal, I'll just put on my new Maxïmo Park album.

I can't imagine any real life revelation destroying my love of this character. It's just sort of strange how some people can't look past it, seems so irrational to me.

Mmmh, no, I genuinely don't want to spoil anybody's fun, and well, I'm not intending to begin some sort of "battle of pics", that's really not the point. For some various and all very boring reasons, I've never been too much of the original pic posting type, so I'm not going to change now for some negative reason.

It's rather complicated, I guess I'm just totally puzzled by all the sudden Luciano fandom - again, not at all by the fact that people are happy to discover Kaidan's facemodel's identity or even stalking him - and as usual, I'm really curious and looking to understand. The best part to me on the thread is fellow Kaidanites here expressing their views, people willing to discuss that aspect between two strings of Luciano GIFs is totally good for me. Nothing's gonna ruin the character for me as I said.
