Yes - it's unpopular way - to take away LI, and it also had some obvious commercial reasons (now raise your hands, who would preoderbuy ME3 knowing Alenko is NOT there, neither as squad nor as LI?...) But if they followed fanservice way...you know what I mean. There would be no character, no conflict, but moar sex. Horizon and rest of ME2 served them both well, I think. No matter how hard I dislike some of Horizon lines.

Yeah, those hurt me even more then Horizon itself on my first run. I mean...Jeeff could understand what happened, and he's probably one who should care, not Kelly. Yeah, I know there was conflict between Kaidan and Joker after SR1 crash. But that did not involve Joker-Shepard friendship much. He should've supported her, and she could've talked to him. And say something more real than any of those lines.

Joker is the comic relief (obviously..) it's implied that he mostly talks out of his ass. The only time he gets gut-renching serious is in ME3, and then iirc it's only once or twice.

So when he talks about Kaidan that way, I take it as that he's acknowling that we need some laughs, even though he know's we really need Kaidan..

That's one of the plot twists I didn't get at all in ME2/ME3, it was only until the Cronos recordings did the whole sadistic scheme unfold for me to understand. Jacob and Miranda didn't have the aurora of puppet master over Shepard from what I could tell, and TIM appeared to be genuine in letting Shepard do his own thing, because that's what he wanted.

I don't know. To me that pic was always some kind of cerberus reminder. Something like "Yes, and this little something is also what we know about you, and not only about you. Problem, Сommander?"

Besides - I can hardly see fresh ressurected Shepard at cerberus base asking Miranda or TIM " excuse me, my new cabin lacks of special something... don't you have by chance a picture of my former lover? You know - that cute biotic Lt... Or just a frame may be? I can google pic myself.."

That's an interesting way to look at it. I took it after the recordings that they gently guided Shepard but never took direct action, just like they never put a kill-switch in Shepard, even though Miranda wanted to.

from my experience;
Mshenko= S/S Kaidinites
Shenko is implied to be tradtitional femshep relationship, given that only femsheps could romance him in ME1. The term (presumably) has been around longer. I suppose technically it could mean either, but I believe the implication is that it's a femshep relationship. Just like the term Gay could be used to describe a male or female person, but it's implied that it's a masculane word, because Lesibian is distinctly female. 

I could be wrong of course, There's no urbandictionary for Shenko

Well, that would really be the first time something would be female by default  
I didn't know, for me, shenko = shepard + alenko, whatever the gender.

But you're right, that's probably because there wasn't male shenko at first.
 Well, in that case, there should be "fShenko" or "femShenko" now. Don't think I ever encountered the word.

Also some thoughts about no pin on the table in ME3. I never bothered to think it over, because....well, you know, original is at hand...most of the time. But there can be two options.

First - she could delete\\destroy pic herself, as I don't think she wanted to compromise both of them. She already had enough sh!t for all sorts on her (even without Arrival DLC). And last thing she needed - to get him involved into all this. So - keeping pic of an alliance commander on capitain's table (or worse - taking it into...uhm..cell with her) looks like a bad idea.

Second - she simply had no time to bother about it, and no one cared (could work, atually, especially if frame display was bound to her ID) and it was lost. Probably exists somewhere in cargo bay, same as all those models scattered around the ship.

I've always kindof thought of Shenko as the FShep/Kaidan pairing, though in my headcannon in a MShenko universe if they ever became fond of the nickname they'd use Shenko too since FShep wouldn't exist.

Personally, I am overly totally fond of the very concept of "Shenko", Shep + Kaidan. I really see it as something totally different as say, "Brangelina".
Call me romantic, but I think that Kaidan wouldn't be half () as interesting without Shepard around him.
To me, "Shenko" stands for all the "lore" (transcripts, options, different arcs, interactions, etc.) as well as the very factual relationship, the couple itself, the alchemy. So gender doesn't matter to me, really. I'll refer to this as such. Also, "mShenko" or "fShenko", neither looks very pretty.

That's a very though one.
I think Kaidan is way too righteous for that. He would tear his brain out just trying to figure this out - just think about the banter about Cerberus and TIM on the Normandy. But I think he'd struggle to understand that, yes. Maybe even have a one-on-one talk with Joker about it. At which Joker would, well, just joke away

I believe - yes. And there were some lines with Joker in ME2 that point at that....unless that's where my headcanon plays tricks with me and overrides real script...

MMmh. I don't know. And yes, I've been on the lookout about this! I don't feel there's any evidence about this.
All in all, Joker is just playing ass all the time, you just never know. And Kaidan... well, yes, he's above that I think.
