There are just as many women who like this romance as there are men..the best fanfics for sheploo/Kaidan are written by women, so is some of the best art, and so on..

Not that I mean that in a sexist way, simply that I found it unexpected.

I think... it's nice.. right up until the point where I tell him to get over his dead husband so that I can get in his pants.

Well, (1)Sheploo/Kaidan are pretty much the hottest/most adorable couple to ever exist, (2) women make incredible fanfic writers (not sure why they're so awesome at writing slash fics but I'm sure it has something to do with (most of) them being really attracted to men and thus knowing how they work physically and romantically).

But yeah, glad I'm not alone. Most days I prefer Mshep/Kaidan to Fshep/Kaidan.  And yeah, I know that makes me a traitor to my own gender. And I couldn't give even a single ****.

I think it's pretty funny that there are so many good female writers for the Mshenko fics. Especially when they get into the more steamy bits, I'm like wait... how do you know all this you don't even have a pe...!?

I'm not an MShenko writer per se, but I'm pretty damn good at writing dialogues for Shepley, Shenko doesn't seem to be that much harder. It's just that I'm not used to writing Kaidan's personality. In Duet Effect, I think he suffers a bit from me making him a little too silent and reserved. Sure, in the next chapter its just him and my FemShep as the main four split up, but I'm not adept at writing him. Takes time to get the feel for a character.

I'm not a writer but I think he's probably a particularly difficult character to get right.  There's a cadence to the way he thinks and speaks that makes him a complex character to emulate in words.

I thought that at first, but after thinking about it briefly, I'm not particularly surprised these fictions manage those parts so well. I think that's all I can comfortably say to appease BW forum rules 


Either way, I'm glad everyone loves this pairing.. I'm sure I'll lose interest long before I run out of material to read/view.

Gotta admit, I like the idea that Kaidan was that sort of 'ugly duckling' kind of kid. Ya know, not impressive or physically imposing in his youth, but when he enlisted, he grew into the sexy, dreamy eyed man we see now.

My Fem!Shep spent most of her childhood on the streets being used and abused for her biotics and other things. Bout the only men who treated her decently were Kaidan, Hackett and Anderson(And her twin brother in my Duet headcanon). And she was highly suspect of all three for a while. Thought they all had seperate agendas - in a way, shes kind of like Jack, but unlike Jack, she wanted to escape the life of crime and managed to join the Alliance.

So when Kaidan fumbled the line 'That's what I lov - Appreciate about you.', that's when she consciously decided 'Yep, I'm gonna love this guy even if it kills me.'

That is a bit rushed, but it's not in the same conversation.   

I like the mShep/Cortez romance arc because it's open and honest.  Cortez is comfortable in his sexuality and makes Shepard comfortable in his too.  I like the little coments that Cortez makes if you're his LI.   It's way too short a romance and not enough LI only conversations with him. 

I love Kaidan's romance arc with mShep as he's been my prefered LI since ME1 and I finally got the chance.  

Out of the two, Kaidan's feel more complete but slightly more closeted than Cortez's romance.
