Only question is - can I keep my career and shep model, but drop down all the skills and powers? I'd like to keep my current femshep, and start "fresh" run at the same time...I hope you understand what I'm talking about...

I do not believe there is an importer for ME1 to start a new game, and there was never a save game editor that I know of.

You have to start fresh on every new ME1 play-through

You can do a new-game-plus if you've compoleted ME1, IIRC you keep your same class but start at the higher level with the gear & skills.

@Nrieh: I quite liked "seeing" Kaidan play poker and other boring stuff, it was refreshing, and also... he swears > it's a human being! If there's something I feel they really did good in ME3, is showing all the little pictures that fit in the big one.

True. Non-shepard interactions were good (not to say perfect), almost all of them, not only Kaidan's. Not that I ever supposed that crew never talks to each other...but I can see what you're talking about. Bad thing about it - some (if not most) of those interactions are written much better then shep ones.

By "fresh" I mean no skill points and no millions of creds and no maxed weapons from the very start (and not being some crazy high level). I remember on my second run I did not know where to put that stuff, and I had about 1mln of creds and about 500 omnigel, and I was even lazy to hack and overload. And Kaidan had first aid maxed(because I needed to waste his points somewhere)

Yeah, I know that. but I don't want to start at higher level with gear and skills, and I want to use same shep, which complete ME1 several times.

On PC you can import an ME1 character into ME2, extract the sliders from your ME2 savegame and re-create the character in ME1.

There are just as many women who like this romance as there are men..the best fanfics for sheploo/Kaidan are written by women, so is some of the best art, and so on..

Well, (1)Sheploo/Kaidan are pretty much the hottest/most adorable couple to ever exist, (2) women make incredible fanfic writers (not sure why they're so awesome at writing slash fics but I'm sure it has something to do with (most of) them being really attracted to men and thus knowing how they work physically and romantically).

I think it's pretty funny that there are so many good female writers for the Mshenko fics. Especially when they get into the more steamy bits, I'm like wait... how do you know all this you don't even have a pe...!?

@Andreas: well, women don't have one, it's true, but many of them live with someone who does, so it helps
Also, I wouldn't say it has to do about anatomical knowledge. I am myself astonished at the level of clinical details and precision in which some of the straight fics can go! And also... hell, I NEVER thought about that, or... this is... challenging!  

About the women loving gay Shenko, it is really surprising for me too. But then I was surprised also when I discovered "yaoi" and "boy's love" manga (not meaning this is necessarily the case here).

About Cortez, I really like the character, the romance arc and so on. But yes, I thought it was too rushed between the mourning and the Purgatory, it really deserved a lot more time for it to settle in the game. Also, I'm not too sure about the crying part, I think it would have been better without it.  
Since I'm neither gay nor guy, and also, never played ME3 as mShep, I was wondering if some of you had the "oh it's the gay romance" feeling, as if it felt caricatural or too predictable?

Sooo I'm just coming out of hiding here.   Been lurking for a long time.  On tumblr and twitter.  My voicemail is Raphael Sbarge speaking in Kaidan's voice just for my phone.  Every time I see "Here.  Have a Kaidan,"  I laugh.  Because wouldn't we all like to have a Kaidan?  Mission in life is currently to find one that isn't Luciano Costa, since he bats for the other team.  Le sigh.

Anyway.  I'm rambling.  I'll have a Kaidan for you all at some point soon.  Right now my computer sucks.

As soon as I was talking to Cortez and he said "I used to have a husband" I thought "Ohhhh so you're the gay character in ME3 that I heard was going to be implemented."  After playing it out I think it's an ok romance option but I personally didn't like how distinctly "gay" it felt.  It felt like the writers were trying a little too hard to portray it as such by having you hook up with Cortez in a dance club (not all gay guys enjoy clubs) and he was cracking jokes with Vega about "bears" (real life gay term if anyone doesn't know).  I much prefer the romance with Kaidan because it just feels so natural to me and less like "Here's your gay romance option that we put in to be politically correct."  Although some people have an issue with it because it is so similar to the way it plays out with a femshep but I like that since I don't feel there needs to be a huge distinction between a straight/gay romance.
Also Cortez is only around for one game and doesn't have a ton of content so I never felt as much of an attachment.

Interesting...Kaiden was a good character in ME1, although I got annoyed with him on occasion. He argues for the continuation of the Rachni, which is good, methinks, but has a bit of a problem getting out of the "poor biotics" mentality.

That's fine, it makes him human...but if I remember Joker aright: "I can't walk without risking broken bones. That's handicapped. Biotics can move stuff with their minds, that's *not* handicapped!"

Steve tells you about his Husband the first time you talk to him after Mars mission, before he's crying while listening to the recording.  It's only been a few months, why wouldn't he still be moruning his husband's loss?    Also, since he is a possible LI, he couldn't have a husband that was alive.  Yes, he could have been single but then he'd need a totally different character arc.  

The "club hookup" is just a sterotype some people thing about gays, that's probably Andreas' issue.  I thought of it too but it didn't bother me.

You know, if they did not make him so "distinctly gay" there could be a lot of straight msheps not happy about occasional romancing. Or (at least) about "WTF I didn't know, I thought we are friends". Much same as my male straight IRL friend who played Talimancer mShep felt about Alenko in hospital(it was "Whaaat?! I saved his ass on Virmire and now...he's gay and flirting with me?!!"). So, I understand that not many gays wear glowing signs considering their sexuality, but, probably, BW's intentions were good here.

I love the MP glitches. A few days ago my male quarian engineer started to walk in the air, like 3 or 4 metres from the ground, he couldn't even shoot, but I was an easy target for the geth. When I was killed I respawned underground, I could see the ship of White on top of me. I couldn't get myself out of there lol

There's a new challenge for this weekend, if we suceed we will be getting one of new character in one of the packs. Im glad because I don't have any of them yet.
