BTW, I just watched some playthrough vids from ME2 PS3 version. Did you guys know Genesis comic doesn't come up until after the Prologue level and it seems Liara appears in the Prologue by default for all PS3 ManSheps & FemSheps? O.o

From what I remember? If you install Genesis on any platform, you always get Liara (because the VS isn't set yet). If you don't install Genesis, you always get the VS unless you romanced Liara. If you romanced Liara, you get Liara.

Well to be fair in ME1 it's apparent Liara has the hots for Shepard no matter what you do, which explains her drastic change from creepy, clingy, co-dependent bookworm to...well...a psycho after Shep's death.

This is true, if you start a fresh game (no Genesis, no import file) you will always get the VS who is the opposite gender of your Shep.

But in case of New Game on X360 (without Genesis), there's no romance set right? Shep is single on New Game on X360 right? So does he get the VS?

So you only get Liara on PS3 or if you romanced her in imported 360/PC saves right?

I do vaguely remember speculation that Liara or the VS is random, but at the end of the conversation, no one managed to substantiate that - it was always the VS.

with any game other then genesis and/or Liara romance, you get VS during intro.  its not random, its confirmed.  as well as non imports/non genesis always having VS of oposite sex.

Liara with Genesis does make sense becasue she lives through every game so it gives the player opportunity to pick whom they want to live.  placing the comic before the intro kinda ruins the impact, but having it as the flashback, works out.

of course there's still the whole "she was as intelligent as she was beautify" + "good kid"  <_<

Also, there is that pause, when Shep says, "it gave me a new.......appreciation for the Asari." NO, IT DIDN'T and what kind of innuendo is that?

I wish someone would have told Shepard in ME2, "Some strange woman was rumored to recover your armor, dog tags and body. She framed everything except the body of course."

The other person mentioned how when Shepard is narrating the comic and his/her LI question comes up. If you pick Liara, Shep says "I told her I felt the same way." But if you pick Ashley or Kaidan, Shep only says, "I told her I had my eye on someone else."
Why wouldn't Shep say Kaidan or Ashley's name?!?!?!

It's difficult to play an RPG when the creators are throwing ideas into Shepard's head.

Urgh, this makes me glad I don't have the Genisis comic. I kept hearing how biased and bad it was, so I YT'ed it. The guy who recorded it did Renegade FemShep and Paragon DudeShep, but picked Liara both times. <_<

Ugh, talking about the Asari makes me want to rant. But I'd rather spread the Kaidan love.

 (Pokes out head) I've been lurking for a while now... thought I'd say hi.
I'm pretty new to Mass Effect. I picked up ME2 on PS3 recently totally expecting to not like it. But of course it totally drew me into the world and the amazing characters. Then there was this one guy on Horizon that stood out to me the most - you can guess who I'm talking about I don't know if was the simple but flattering brown armor or the voice, but I was intrigued. And then he was like 'losing you was like losing a limb' and I was like awww, lol. He made my Shep feel like an ass, and I was bummed when he wouldn't join my team... I've been lurking this thread ever since. I just wish I could play ME1.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, I'm just excited for Kaidan in ME3.
