Just finished my first "This-is-my-true-canon-and-I'm-not-kidding" playthrough (got to level 56 so will be doing a second game to get my Shepard to max level and also to finally get the paddlefish bonus) but I gotta tell y'all - it gets no easier saying goodbye to Kaidan. :*(

I mean really - I have played, re-played and re-re-played all the Mass Effect titles since ME3 came out and you would think the emotions would abate somewhat. But nooooooo!

I blame BioWare for making Kaidan Alenko such an iconic character. Maybe it's me but I think the reason BW was completely caught by surprise over the ending backlash was that for them, Mass Effect was a project - something to develop that would entertain the masses who are into video games, complete said project and move on. They failed to see how Kaidan could affect our real lives. (Raphael Sbarge reading the Horizon letter? Luciano Costa? 'Nuff said!)

At this point, I really have to send out a big "Muchas Gracias!!" to my fellow Kaidanties tor keeping Kaidan's hawtness factor going and for allowing me to be a (albeit quiet) part of this thread. I love to hear and see what y'all say and do. While maybe one day it will be time for me to move on from the Mass Effect universe and try something new (I've tried 4 times already to start Skyrim with no success!)...today isn't the day.

Not the day for me either

He's near Tikkun system. A mass relay broke down and he has been heading towards it for a couple of weeks now.

We only get into trouble if someone is kind enough and reports. And we did post pics about Kaidan.

Maybe lower the graphics settings down a bit and I use a cooling pad for my laptops that helps with air flow.

Come on, he was talking about ME1, its highest preset was done for a PC with config that are now almost history...And cooling pads either add a lot of noise (because multiple and big fans) or do not work (but usually - both). And I'm yet to see one which matches my acer's heating and air in\\out. My know-how is a thick kid's book under back side of laptop - makes some space for air and comfy angle. And regular cleaning. 8P

And that's what I don't understand. Considering that large fanbase has long-term relations with this game (those who started with ME1 as it was released), considering all the feedback, how could they miss that game is already NOT just a game? I mean not a regular videogame. Not for each and every player, yes. But, hey, they were continuing to sell it as "personal saga, no-canon, choice matters". So..they knew about players' feelings, about..addiction? They had basic ideas how it all worked...
And then - boom - "we did not know you would need to see more of it, we did not know they were important to you".

Either someone was lying, or someone did not do his job. Something tells me that now they highly regret that they "killed" series. No matter how high players hopes are - Shepard is...over (even if some still alive). And so does MEU - there is no place for post-ending plot. Unless they decide to make "canon" ending...there was "canon" council, after all... But, probably, it's for better (I mean burned bridges to ME4 and further story).

And no matter what BW will make now - people will compare it with ME1 (and DAO). We will search for signs of Alenko (not visually, but as a writing quality, as a depth of character) in future LI. An no matter if we find them or not - we may be disappointed.

Well, I'll admit I'd rather have them lovebirds flirting or GIF questing or playing geography Trivial Pursuit here than be alone here   I like it that the Kaidan flame is still burning...

Also, there were hints about this from ME2 already.
If I had been the ME1 veteran, I would probably not be having this discussion now.
