I just yelled at the Garrus thread for bashing Kaidan... don't make me yell at y'all for bashing Garrus (and Liara).
I will be taking Liara everywhere if I don't get Miranda immediately, and I expect Garrus to once again be an awesome bro, but I really would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Kaidan or Ashley right now. Anything. Even half their head in a screenshot. More than that would be great, but really. Anything.
I think Virmire Survivor fans who haven't rage quit this series after ME2 deserve a little wooing by ME3's marketing campaign. I would like to be wooed.

Oh, I totally 100% agree. But... I'm not going to blame the characters for incompetent marketing. Which is what this is. Garrus is one of my fave characters along with Kaidan. Heck, I'm even fond of Liara. I would LOVE to see someone new, though. Like Grunt. Where the heck is Grunt? But... "punishing" the characters they are using isn't really fair. I mean... if you don't like them, you don't like them. But don't blame the marketing on them.

Okay, this:
And while I thought the comics were a great idea, Silverman made the entirely valid point that really, the only people who cared about the decisions (Does Wrex live or die? With whom does Shepard hook up?) were the people who had already played the games. To newcomers, the choices didn't resonate that much. "Do I hook up with this girl, or this girl?" he asked. "Well… this one's blue, so, sure!"
is totally what I'm talking about. Silverman thinks that newcomers are not going to care about the story, but they will LOVE having a blue chick to possibly bang. This sort of mentality worries me, even though he's *just* the Director of Marketing. If he has this impression, do the writers and producers who are dictating the events of the story feel that way?
So if I seem a little frustrated about all the attention Liara and Garrus are getting lately, it's because of stuff like this. I do hope I'm wrong, or that David Silverman's talking points don't really mean anything for the story.

I know, and I have to admit that a lot of what Silverman says prevents me from pre-ordering the CE. Remember his "'Well, what about when I had this love affair?' It's like, who cares? It's all out war!"?

I swear. I facepalm every time Silverman tries to use Star Wars an example of a jumping point into the series. Was he not around in 1977 when the first Star Wars was made?Jenova65 wrote...

As he put it, viewers were able to come into Star Wars: A New Hope[/i] without knowing what brought on the conflict between the Empire and the Rebels.
Duh. It was the FIRST one made. Those pieces of garbage from 1999-2005 weren't even a thought yet. I swear...freakin ****. <_<

This 'no comic/choices-generator' statement is just not true IMO. Casey said that they're working on something similar to Genesis comic (most people expect that the trial will serve as the choices generator).

It's like playing the Force Unleashed before watching the movies!

Gosh that game is terrible.
Maybe they're going to use "PREVIOUSLY ON MASS EFFECT" videos that allow you to make choices, so you can at least see the characters in action?IsaacShep wrote...

the alternative would be to have a list of all decisions that can have an effect in ME3 (and you could use the 'check all' options for a ... mass effect
I'm pro trial-for-setting-things-up, if you import the game it just plays through recapping your decisions and if you haven't you get to make some choices *shrug*
