I always let Kaidan shoot to imbibe that being a Spectre involves making a stand and making the hard decisions--give him a taste of what Shepard has to go through (how Shepard sometimes has to be "inhuman" to accomplish the job), not that my Shepard blames him for anything (my pure renegade has this happy trigger finger directed at Udina since ME1 though haha).

Edit: Not that my Shepards gave way for Kaidan to shoot. I just headcanon that Kaidan shoots a wee bit faster this time.

Sigh...the money I would give to have this happen :crying:

I'm curious anyone used interrupt to shoot him herselfhimself? I used to let Kaidan shoot. I knew that it was something he did not really like, but what he had to do. And it's kinda headcanon... but next time I think I'll pull the trigger myself.

On my first playthrough, my Shep shot Udina, cause it felt good. It felt good cause he's the bad guy (so says BW). It felt good cause he poorly attempted to turn Kaidan against Shep, and it really pissed me off to see him struggle, just because of some lame traitor. Also, i kind of  wanted to make life easier on Kaidan (no Kaidan, i don't want you to come up with some banter on the Normandy about "did Udina really deserve to die?"), since Shep has no problem whatsoever with killing people... On a more realistic note, i feel it's something Shep would do, just because she can and that there's no time to think about this.

Second playthrough, i let him do it, maybe to force him to make the decision.
EDIT> as laikabaws says, it's me who's letting him do it, not Shep, let's say that Kaidan is faster than Shep for once

I actually thought Bioware was going for the more sympathetic route with Udina...especially during that first meeting with the Council where he and Shepard semi-drowned their sorrows about the rest of the Council, only to have him "indoctrinated" (?) and then shoot him in the end...

But gah how dare he use Kaidan against Shepard?!

@Beep I liked ME1 Ashley :crying: I considered her my FSheps' soul sistah~ (...and my Sheploo's almost romance, woops). Kaidan was the snarkiest with her. Go team milky way~

I don't think he was indoctrinated. I don't think he had a lot of exposure to reaper tech (except for pieces of Sovereign), nor did he necessarily believe in TIMs agenda. I think he convinced himself he would just use TIM to gain power. No doubt TIM also though that he'd use Udina as a puppet in the Citadel. Too bad for both of them that Shep and Kaidan ruined that plan.
