Wow, things have been moving pretty quick in here. I've been busy watching the Olympics. Apparently every 4 years, I care deeply about synchronized swimming. Since I'm way behind I'm completely ignoring the FemShep v. BroShep debate and changing the subject.

Anyway, about that cut Kaidan dialogue from, like, seven pages ago... I also think it's a little ooc for Kaidan. At least for the Kaidan who's with my canon paragon Shepard, but it would totally fit with the Kaidan one of my Shepard's renegaded back in ME1. I wish that ME3 had shown some kind of reaction to Kaidan's personality - meaning, if you influenced him. There was some great renegade dialogue for Kaidan ("Way to go, Team Milky Way!") in ME1, but that aspect of the game was completely overlooked in ME3.

Also related... can you do the same thing with Ash? I mean, influence her to be more xenophilic? I've never romanced her in ME1.

Yes you can.  Also, she's not as xenophobic as people say.  Her distrust has to do with politics, not race.
Basically, in ME1 she predicts exactly what happens at the begining of ME3.

I prefer to sweet Kaidan not the angry one. But in reality everyone gets angry so it would only make sense to have the angry dialogue there and then.

Well we know he gets angry so why not? I do like him being the calming force in the relationship though. My Shepard's definitely not. It's part of why I like his character.

Everybody's got a breaking point though. Think he's got another one in him somewhere? Maybe the writers really wanted BAaT to be it.

I guess it's how you said that F!Shenko is or feels wrong. The word wrong is like something "abnormal" that needs to be rectified, a deviation to what was intended (which of course isn't the case for the pairing). It would have been better you worded it like "I prefer M!Shenko because..." or "I dislike F!Shenko because..." to make it look more like your opinion.

(My opinion entirely and I'll state it here to maybe give insight on how some may be "upset") And personally, what does gender matter? Just because a particular Shepard has a vagina and boobies or a particular Shepard has a peen doesn't change the Shenko dynamic or the chemistry between them; they share the same lines most of the time. As for Nrieh's side, I guess what she's saying is that this thread is about the appreciation of Kaidan; whatever Shepard's gender is shouldn't matter (both M!Shenko and F!Shenko are welcome yey!). Although you have every right to have an opinion about gender, I guess this isn't the place for genderwars because...popcorn...(I'm in no way "upset" just trying to explain...).

That's why I chose "more xenophilic" as opposed to "less xenophobic," as I don't fully buy into the "Ashley is a racist" argument, especially when you look at her dialogue with the Terra Firma party member outside Flux in ME1.

Yeah, he was pissed on Horizon, but it felt almost like he was more surprised than anything else.  He didn't have alot of time to reflect, because Shep was suddenly back from the dead and in front of him.  He had lots of time to reflect on the Reaper Invasion.  Knowing its coming, isn't exactly the same as being confronted with the reality of it.  But he knows "why us;" he was there at Ilos.

And you're right, it probably was money, but maybe with more time/resources, if the final cutscene had been included it would've looked a little different.

I think?  I don't know enough about Kaidan (stupid Bioware should have let me leave Liara with the bomb instead!).

My thoughts exactly...I also miss Team Milky Way (will do a playthrough of ME1 purely of Ash and Kaidan--I need my Ash fix).  I consider Ash my Shepards best friend (had a hard time at Virmire ).

Bioware, why not do this?!

Which is why I think AngryKaidan on Horizon is in character, but the AngryKaidan cut content isn't. 

But that particular quoted paragraph is all hypothetical. I think that BW missed an opportunity to have your choices impact the series by not carrying over any impact that Shepard had on the VS's personality.

And yes it would be nice to have both Kaidan and Ashley.
