Here's one:

I think the artist based it off Costa

Continuing with my ME1 playthrough, any tips on romancing Kaidan..? In ME3, the upper-right hand corner was my default option whenever I chat with Kaidan, does the same apply in ME1?

At what point are you now? Is that your first ME1 playthrough?? Posted Image
If so, i'll just tell you to just enjoy ME1 Kaidan, this is nothing like ME3, this is a great RPG game.
Just relax, take your time, talk with him, get to know him and just choose with your Shep / character / intuition / heart / headcanon, whatever.
There is no secret combination, there is not whiskey bottle magic trick. There is no "wrong" choice that you won't be obviously aware of if your Shep really likes Alenko.

...oh noes, how did I get another top?! somebody, google a pic for me. I need to go offline asap.

Being the biotic that he is, lots of snacks and goodies, I bet. Maybe he keeps some to share with Shep time to time. He's like Shep's own picnic basket.

@Beep > i don't have a BF, i have a HB, and not the tiable type, well not for that reason anyway. I'd love to buy ourselves another desktop though, i miss co-op gaming with him, loads of fun. Last time was on Gamecube's Dark Alliance.

Being the biotic that he is, lots of snacks and goodies

I'm pretty sure he always has some extra energy or choco bars at hand (in my headcanon he's got sweet tooth)!...But..you know, I doubt it's convenient to store those bars at your hip or knee...because you need to move and sit somehow.

Only thing that comes to my mind is, actually, sad one. I mean some awfully strong painkillers, if it hurts really bad.

I've got pair of linen pants with pockets like those. From my experience - you can't put anything there, not even cellphone or keys. And money or cred card - it's not relally comfortable to take them out from your knee pocket. And it's a nightmare to iron those pockets. But linen clothes are lighter than Al uniform fabric, I guess....

Anyway, one who designed Alliance uniform did not think much about practical side - all those stripes, buttons etc - how is soldier supposed to take it off quick if needed?! And NO that's not what you thought about 8P, that's about some urgent situation, when one needs to change from casual form into combat suit asap.

Although Kaidan definitely did a lot of inappropriate yelling in ME1 ("JOKERISWAITINGFORYOUONTHEBRIDGE!") for which the candies would still be totally necessary, I think the "enemies everywhere" line is actually the random enemies bracing for Shepard & Co.'s assault.  I heard it when Kaidan wasn't in my party.  I know, I know... but I was trying to get all those "Ally" acheivements.

I think Kaidan's pockets are filled with thermal clips and hair ties.  You know for when Shepard's always asking, "Does anyone have an extra ponytail holder?"   No, that's just me?  I could swear I had like 5 in my bag, but as soon as I need one, they all go missing.  Anyway Liara and Tali probably wouldn't understand, but I bet Ash helped her out at first until Kaidan caught on.  Oh man, and ME2 must've been rough on my Shepard.  Miranda's hair is always perfect and beautiful and never gets in her face in a firefight because of her awesome genetics, who knows what's under Kasumi's hood, and Jack...  well....  I hope Garrus had her back.  I always imagined he held her hair for her when she woke up in the bathroom of the Darkstar Lounge after Horizon.  /end headcannon dump.
And he probably has a bottle opener/corkscrew in there too.  Never hurts to be prepared.

I doubt they have a key as a separate item there, I think that all locks are electronic and ID-bound in ME. Start of locker scene suggests some possible mechanical issues, though...

I think Kaidan's pockets are filled with thermal clips

Why would he carry thermalclips in a pocket of a casual suit that has no (known) weapon slots?
And what is interesting here - combat blue armor barely has any pockets (while black one has many).

...and hair ties. You know for when Shepard's always asking, "Does anyone have an extra ponytail holder?" No, that's just me?

My Shepard wears rather short hair, she has nothing to make ponytail from..So - Kaidan'd better not have any spare ponytail holders in his pockets...to avoid some question, you know....

Yes it is. It totally is.

Nope <-) Keep your thoughts under control, breath deep and slowly, take cold shower and forget what you were thinking of... As I was talking about some routine combat alert... 8P

Now i'm relieved, i always thought that that "ENEMIES EVERYWHERE" bit was so unlike Mr. "Biotic Cool" Alenko.

That "JOKERISWAITINGFORYOUONTHEBRIDGE" thing, i think i could pay up to $5 for a dedicated patch... Could have been worse though. Let's say... Shep's cabin before Ilos > end of dialogue > "FINALLY, SOME ACTION!"

I like you hairpin thing, that could be that small object he kept from Shep - only mine is the boyish hair type. Ahah, yes, Miranda's ME2 hair is like Liara's tentacles only 10 times better.

Always be prepared.  I think he's still packing.  Is that a gun in your pocket, Kaidan, or are you just happy to see me?  Actually, it's probaby strapped to his ankle.

The black armor is the bomb.  Lord knows what he keeps in there.  Maybe spare grenades for the rest of the squad, cause he doesn't use them.

Is that a quote from your Shep?

The black outfit makes him look like a walking armoury indeed, or some sort of explosives specialist or SWAT officer. I take it as the techie sentinel armour, whereas the American soccer blue one is for biotic sentinel.

About armours, what about the extra outfit from "From Ashes"? It looks kind of meh. What do you think?

Also, is "From Ashes" any interesting Kaidan-wise?

I like this sort of attention to detail.

Pockets - I think in ME1 they needed them for all the damn upgrades you keep getting - once you get level X everything you should just have a magic "Omnigel Everything" button that stops you getting more.
I bet he has a comb for his hair - he always turned out nicely. Swiss army knife for sure. Perhaps some OSDs because he can. He's a techie, so I imagine he has a full array of useful gadgets and decryption things with him, as well as migraine meds.

re: ME1 shouting, yeah the ENEMIESAREEVERYWHERE thing is bad guys shouting it, along with HOLDTHELINE and IWILLDESTROYYOU! - on Insanity it does get a little tired after a while. But, nearly done with most complete playthrough ever, just waiting for the appropriate moment to savor the night before Ilos (without family interrupting the fun) before I can finish it off and move on to ME2.

Yeah, if you bring him with you there's some dialogue about going back to Eden Prime.  That's about it though.

@strawberry > the comb thing keeps me awake at night...

Do you guys think Kaidan is likely to carry a comb around? I always thought that would be too vain of him. Some of Costa's pics can help figure out what Kaidan's hair is like, i prefer imagining it "standing up" on its own, without hair products or combing or whatever - maybe just a tad in the morning to look clean, but that's all. And yes, it IS possible, mine is just like that.

EDIT> not Kaidan related, but about stargazing, apparently today's a peak for meteor showers...

Man, that blood dragon armor makes shep look like he's got a leak in the back of his head.

Is Kaidan really that grey? This has always confused me. Aren't they like thirty? And don't they live to like 120? Talk about early greying...

I agree with Ash, Kaidan's supposed to be 36 or so in ME3.
Sure, people can grow white hair early (my case actually), but it's really rare.
You can't really tell for women, because most of the times they're dying their hair, but men mostly don't.

They could totally have gone with the emotional shock thing about Shep's death, but ME2 Kaidan's hair is as black as the night... Same thing about his figure...

I guess they just wanted to make him look more "manly" or someting, i don't know. It feels like 10 years+ have gone by between ME1 & ME3 looks, that's just too much - i'm not talking about ME2 on purpose, it's just meaningless.

I just accepted that because his ME3 looks are good, and also because everybody just look so much worse and off themselves in ME3, i consider Kaidan lucky...

Yes, Doodle?
Well honestly, to me, 1 & 2 is about hair shine - just to not make the texture look too flat, also it's on the top of the head mainly. It really shows in dark scenes, for instance on the Normandy, his hair looks really crow black to me.
Main difference in ME3 is that they did put some grey "spots" on the sides of the head, above the ears (whatsthewordinenglishdamnit), so it really really looks like grey hair / salt and pepper look in that case.
