Yup, it's my first playthrough and just finished getting Liara and Noveria mission, and then doing random assgnments to level my squad.

If so, i'll just tell you to just enjoy ME1 Kaidan, this is nothing like ME3, this is a great RPG game.
Just
relax, take your time, talk with him, get to know him and just choose
with your Shep / character / intuition / heart / headcanon, whatever.
There
is no secret combination, there is not whiskey bottle magic trick.
There is no "wrong" choice that you won't be obviously aware of if your
Shep really likes Alenko. 

That's good to know! i have been picking the choices that would show Shep's interest in him:D. I love the interaction with Kaidan - there's so much more to him in ME1 than ME3. Kaidan is definitely really shy!
On the note of gifts, i still lol at how DA lets you could give presents to increase your LI's approval.

I agree with Ash, Kaidan's supposed to be 36 or so in ME3.
Sure, people can grow white hair early (my case actually), but it's really rare.

I've met my husband when he was at ME1 Kaidan's age - he was 32. And I could already see some white hairs. Now, 6+ years after, he has much of grey, actually. And he's not a biotic(afaik), and his life was significantly calmer than Kaidan's (unless we consider having 3 kids comparable to Alliance military career and fighting against Reapers threat).

I don't think that BW artists followed any inner lore logic, while "aging" him - more like pure artistic way (and, YES, enjoy the result). But we do know, that biotics have more intense methabolism. So, from lore poit of view I see no reason why they can not turn grey early. And since he's among first generation of human biotics - we have no statistics neither to confirm or deny this.

Also - we should not forget game engine and texture difference. ME1 was low-res(from modern point of view), and ME2 had HUGE problems with shades and lightings (on PC, at least). My Shep could look almost black&white in some ME2 scenes and shots. So - it's really problematiс to tell lights from grey hair in those two, imo.  

Do you guys think Kaidan is likely to carry a comb around? I always thought that would be too vain of him. Some of Costa's pics can help figure out what Kaidan's hair is like, i prefer imagining it "standing up" on its own, without hair products or combing or whateve

I already wrote once, that I don't believe he uses hair gel or something like that. It's just a short practical haircut that maintains itself...unless someone goes to bed with non dried hair.. 8P

Btw are you guys always buying PSP or others? I feel maybe i'll have better chances getting interesting stuff if i buy cheaper packs repeatedly.

I'm so glad you're enjoying ME1 Kaidan, it must be weird to discover him like that after meeting him in ME3, so i'm really glad you're not "disappointed" or whatever. I'm realizing you must have been spoiled a lot from here and around, hope it's still fresh nonetheless.
I always took "shy" as some shortcut for Kaidan, so i wouldn't say he really is... but... i'll just let you play. Please share the rest with us!

PSPs only. Normal spectre packs when I'm feeling too tempted which is 90 % of the time I acquire 60k.

Just buy the cheap packs until you get the weeny stuff to rank X. That way your psp won't be wasted on them. Most new classes can't be gotten in the lower packs though.
