1) I definetely agree with you there. There's this growth in Garrus as well in ME3 with his romanced lines with Shep. From Shep fully supporting him from ME1, now he has the confidence to ask, "What's the matter? Can I help? Even just a little." Because for me, just acknowledging a burden means a lot, and he does this consistently (Kaidan does this for Shep, but just in the sexytimes cutscene though, which is for me...meh). I also miss Kaidan's dry humor in ME1 (people now seem to forget he has a dry humor), which seemed all transferred to Garrus (ME1 Garrus was not as funny, but he grows).
As for Thane omg I love that "You've awoken me from my battlesleep" and that letter...just /cry haha. Very tragic indeed, and I do like him romanced or not. Got a lot of insights from him. There's also this romance line when he dies in the hospital that got cut (forgot what it was though) that breaks hearts (too heart-breaking perhaps?).
But Kaidan's romance...NUMBAH ONE (for me)!!! Bro-fist~
Lol and I realize...you didn't mention Jacob! Gasp! But I guess I won't either 

2. BRO-FIST!!! People just have this weird hero-worship thing going on for games...ummm how about understanding characters? How about understanding what other people might think, given the perspectives they have. Other people don't know what you know. Kaidan doesn't know what Shep knows that time. He has his own assumptions, so he works with those and given what he has, what do you expect?

Shepard turns in Kaidan's arms and looks into his eyes, "Only a few hours?"

As for Horizon, I'd have loved a way to talk Kaidan onto the Normandy then but I agree, it's a painful but good character growth for Kaidan. I would have liked to see a way to respond to his email letter. It didn't have to be voiced (though I'd of loved that!) but just a way to open a dialog with Kaidan (or tell him off) in ME2 would have been touching.

Wah, I love you for recommending that Garrus romance to me <3<3<3. Can't thank you enough...it's just a whole new experience~ Very uplifting too for my douche!Shep (who's all "KEEL EVERYONE!!! I HATE EVERYONE!!!").

I'm thinking Garrus didn't mean it to become an innuendo targeting Shep, but Shep is all crafty and...

So Garrus is like, "Oh no...but I can live with that." 
But that's just my headcanon, no need to go spreading it around 

As for Thane, he is an awesome character and a sweet romance...but yeah I didn't romance him because of his baggage and that awkward Shep jumping him after mentioning his wife and rescuing his son...Shep your timing sometimes...(figures why you can't dance)  And definetely agree with you about Thane (at least subconsciously) crushing on Shep despite not being romanced (because that siha line), and I'm happy it's actualized in Graceyn's fic. 

Edit: I also like Carth, but comparing his issues to Kaidan? I mean, really haters? <_< Just because both are voice acted by the same guy (cutiepie Raphael Sbarge) doesn't mean they are the same character (IQ points dwindling...). But I'm also in this rare camp that loves both Kaidan and Carth in different ways, so maybe I'm wrong

I think he could take Shep to one of his favourite places, some place he got memories from, somewhere calm, in the wild, with high grass and a soft wind, and maybe some rustle in trees nearby - my Shep is a spacer, she's not specifically attached to Earth. It would be night time, and he would have just brought a blanket to let them lie back down, just to look at the stars, while talking about the things they've seen up there and sharing a fresh beer with lemon slices. Maybe he could have brought some of Shep's favourite food, after all, even heroes have weaknesses. At one point Shep would say he/she's got to get back to work but Kaidan would be convincing enough to make this an exception and they would just stay there until the morning.

I'm not sure this is a date per say, but that's the closest thing i can think of. Also, since you said post war, i assumed post EC and all is well.

You're not.  They're both awesome.  The only similarites are that they have the same VA (although Kaidan's voice is lower) and they're both nice guys who don't run around screaming "BLOW UP ALL THE THINGS!"

I don't think he's in too much danger.  He's still got all of my femSheps but one.  And one of these days I might get around to making a BroShep for him, too.  I've only taken half the Sheps I'd planned through ME3.  Maybe when Leviathan drops I'll get more excited about SP.

Seconded about Kaidan's sense of humor.  I missed it, but I'm sure it's not gone forever.  I wish there were more to laugh about in ME3.  Well Javik's always "unintentionally" funny with his trollin'.

A little off topic but Im about to play Mass Effect 2 again, gonna do the trilogy again with a new character. Obviously romanced Kaidan but thought but feeling the heartbreak already for whats about to come ><

Oh gawd.  In the Thane/Kaidan/femShep triangle, at Huerta Memorial when you first see Thane again, he says he's spoken to Kaidan (as he says in unromanced dialogue as well), but then says:

Thane: "We have spoken.  He was holding out hope that a woman would visit him... is there something I should know about you two?"

And if you choose the "we're [Shep/Kaidan] still intimate" option, this is the dialogue:

Shep: "We were together for some time before I met you.  I still want to make things work.  Can you understand that?"  (I hate the wording for that "can you understand that", but Jennifer's tone makes it not so hurtful-sounding.)

Thane: "...Oh."  [cue heartbreaking] "...Well, if he means something to you, then he will to me.  He has my protection as long as he is here." Thane or Garrus are the only other two I go for, though Kaidan is my canon (and solely romanced 98% of the time... the other 2% being 1% Garrus and 1% Thane).  I'm really not into any of the others.

If FemShep could romance Miranda I would do it in a hot second.

I've only got one broShep and he went for Liara in 1 (but only because Ash wouldn't go for a threesome - can't imagine why), Miranda in 2, and I think he's going for Ash in 3.  Also Shaira in 1 and Jack in 2.  Did I mention is a total ho?  So I've never gotten that attached to other LIs.  I just don't like playing a male PC as much.  I'm not as connected to them.

Major OUCH. I was actually about to ask for a Thane confirmation of Kaidan romance. Does he acknowledge the Kaidan romance with a faithful Shep (does his lines about Kaidan change for a romanced faithful and unromanced Shep?). 

Didn't experience that with Garrus when I truned him down for Kaidan (for science!). But if it makes you feel better...my heart broke in teeny pieces when I turned down Kaidan (this is a "cheating" Shep btw, not sure for those that just turns him down meanies). And I know I can answer Garrus first to get that friendship dialogue from Kaidan than turning him down...but SCIENCE (even though heart is broken ).

Turning Kaidan Down Dialogue: 
Shepard: I'm sorry, Kaidan, but we should keep it professional. 
Kaidan: (turns away from Shep, like looking at Shep is hard to do, pauses) Right. Well, not the answer I was hoping for...
Shepard: (turns away from Kaidan, like looking at Kaidan is hard to do) Times are...complicated.
Kaidan: (slowly) Oh, I understand. It's okay. (long pause) So...when does the steak get here? Incidentally, you're buying now (hastily attempts humor to change subject or distract Shep from the sound of his heart breaking )

Cheated on her with Miranda, then went with jack then ultimately dumping her, then went with Tali

ME3- cheated on Tali and/or Liara with Kaidan

Well, that's it...pretty much. Yeah, it's Kaidan's fault! EDIT: LOL SURPRISE TOP~

He was actually supposed to be an Ashmancer (is there such a word?), and I headcanon that he truly loved Ashley...but Virmire comes and he (I have) has to make a choice. Headcanon: he picks Kaidan same as my F!Sheps because Kaidan is a superior officer, biotics is a gift--Ash's expertise can be learned (but gameplaywise, lol my soldiers need biotics), and most importantly that bomb has to go off properly and that bomb is with an alone, injured Kaidan (I love you Ash, but sorry).
If I had more M!Sheps, I'd romance Miranda and Steve <3

Given a choice for my F!Sheps, they would romance Garrus (did with one) and Thane (but his romance was shafted...so...). I had that "cheater" prepared for Vega, but alas!

As for S/S for F!Shep...I'd romance Miranda and Jack, but alas! Traynor is sweet, but her sexytimes is tacky for me and seem to pander to straight gamer boys who have a skewed view of lesbians; shower scene, really (so I won't support that)? Tali for me is like a sister...and her romance is relatively short (she's acquired last), so maybe not. Liara...just...too...much...can't....breathe...
